My question is where is the MUTO Queen in the overall Life cycle. Is she like an "in between" stage for a normal MUTO and a Prime, or is she completely different? I wish this new Monsterverse would make a book or something that is basically a "species field guide" to every Titan, where/how they live, how they reproduce/survive for this long, etc.

Dude I would love a 'nature studies' type book on kaiju. Just getting to dump the lore that might/might not hit the screen. So long as the fandom doesn't get toxic and beat people over the head with it like happened with the avatar bible.

I believe that's the exact term.. since she even looks like how she was halfway through in her evolution to muto prime and ghidorah stopped the process when he woke her and the other titans. And we do need field guide for these creatures. It's always cool and fun to learn about them

We actually know what barb is. Its confirmed she is an elder version of the female muto like the one in 2014. The queen in her name is due to her spikes and her ancient nature.

I believe the Shinomura is an alien too. It doesn’t make sense that a creature that naturally evolved on Earth could be so destructive to the environment. It has to be an invasive species. Maybe the Godzilla species gained their atomic breath ability so that they could eliminate the Shinomura once and for all, preventing the Shinomura from regenerating.

Unfortunately, since they are technically based on insects, that isn’t plausible. In real life, insects more or less typically have a “queen” and the males purpose is for breeding only. This is observed in bees where the males die after mating with the queen.

TO CLARIFIY SOME STUFF ABOUT BARB(Queen muto) : 1.barb is not a prime and is not turning into a prime since its impossible for her to do it, 2. Her queen status comes from the crown of spikes on her and her old age, 3. Barb is absolutely ancient, 4. Barb is her canonical name, just like the ghidorah heads have them, To elaborate on the prime thing. A muto prime comes about when a young female muto can't find her mate during her development before breeding wich may result in her growing into a prime, since barb canonically mated multiple times she is likeley incapable of becoming a prime in her current stage of life.

I would love to hear how Barb is doing. Can we learn about the mating habits of the titans? Because I was curious about something said back in King of the Monsters. They assumed one of the reasons arrived to confront Rodan could have been to potentially mate. So does species not really play a role in preserving the bloodline?

A drone footage is a cool concept but wouldn't the muto's EMP just fry it before you get any footage though, logically speaking. Cool video nonetheless, I think their extinction might be tied to the dwindling of the Gojira species particularly, their most preferred host. Maybe the Gojira war with the Kong species caused the balance between the Gojira and MUTOs to fall apart. The remaining Gojiras fell to the prime and the MUTO's superior reproduction rate and numbers, causing the Mutos themselves to lose their most preferred host.

Maybe it was the rodan species. They've got supersonic flight and an ultra hard/heavy volcanic rock covered body, combine that with the fact that they seem to attack by ramming their opponents, then targeted MUTOs would likely have a hard time even surviving them. Could be a case of their young needing to eat to grow large enough to sustain themselves on that interrior radiation. Maybe their bodies are too fragile to process it? Maybe they don't have enough surface area? (I know square cube law would mean a smaller being would actually have less internal to deal with?) Maybe below a certain size just being in the hollow earth is deadly because it penetrates deeply and cooks you? 🤷‍♂
