Kasia, your devotion to Mary, and particularly the Black Madonna, is so touching. My heart seems to open and soften when I hear you talk about a deck like this one, or about your experiences of working with Mary. Thank you for sharing such a personal experience with us. I've been meaning to watch this video since you posted it and I'm so glad I did. The deck is absolutely exquisite. I love Hettienne's work and the devotion behind it is admirable. I paused the video about two thirds of the way through to look at the wikipedia entry for the Black Madonna to get a sense of where all the sites are, and found that the only two Black Madonna sites listed for the US (in an apparently exhaustive list of Black Madonnas found world-wide) are both within a 40 minute drive of my house! One is Our Lady of Ferguson and was commissioned by an artist called Mark Doox and is enshrined in a church in Ferguson. Her focus is on ending gun violence everywhere, but especially in the black community after Michael Brown was killed by police in 2014. The second is the Black Madonna Shrine and is a grotto enshrining the Black Madonna of Częstochowa, Poland

The rest of my comment got cut off! I think I had written that I couldn't believe that of all the countries in the world, Poland was the one associated with the Black Madonna shrine here. Apparently the Black Madonna of Częstochowa is also enshrined somewhere in Pennsylvania, but I guess because it's not referred to directly as a "Black Madonna", it's not included on the list. . .? Anyway, I couldn't believe the synchronicity and had to share that with you. Thank you for sharing such a personal experience of this deck and practice with us. It's very meaningful. I hope this finds you well and happy despite all the tourists and crowding. I've so enjoyed your videos from Croatia. That Olive grove from the most recent one is truly magical!

I received my copy of the deck yesterday. I edged it tonight; half gold and half black vinyl. It looks very pretty shuffled. This deck is gorgeous. I have the Mysteries of Mary as well, since 2014 I think.

Omg. I just ordered one of the pre-orders for shipping around the end of June. It's crazy how much work Hettienne puts into these cards. I can't imagine making 80 perfect little shrines! I have The Mysteries of Mary Tarot Deck, and the whole package that came with that was so nice. Her customer service is excellent. It's all very much worth the premium price. She does such special work!

These are so powerful Kasia, and what a great way to welcome them. I wonder if the frames are less obvious in this new deck? The images seem to be bursting out of their confinement - there is more movement, less sense of us looking at and more of us being part of, swept up in .... I did the 30 days walk with Mary a couple of years back and it made a big impression, and seems to have had a lasting effect. Would like to come back and do some more work on her. Thanks so much for sharing. PS Could I use frankincense mixed with rose for an anointing oil on these cards?
