Well we have no records from the “beginning of time” and if early humans had been so “sick in the head” humanity would not have advanced. Murder is not the result of a “sickness” in the head and certainly not representative of all people.
@Cricket9579

@@rashone2879 I think you're being FAR too literal, and in fact, murderers have been around for thousands of years, recorded or not. Do some research. People murder for many reasons, and there absolutely were, and still are people sick enough in the head to kill for no apparent reason except for the thrill it. They're called psychopaths. Research that too. Pretty sure they weren't speaking for everyone in their comment, so humanity would have advanced regardless. "Since the beginning of time" is literally a figure of speech. Cope.

Poor Georgina. Why take something out on a child who has nothing to do with their father’s poor behavior?
@MisplacedTexan
@MisplacedTexan 2 ай бұрын
That’s a crazy assertion. A mistress - whether back then or today - is a grown woman who knows she’s having sex with a married man. Anyone dumb enough to have sex with a married person is responsible for their own heartache, and to take it out on the child is evil. Mr. Moore is responsible for cheating on his wife, but Ms. Pay is the ONLY ONE responsible for the murder. She’s disgusting. Clearly zero morals. Blaming the father for this murder is one of the weirdest things I’ve seen on KZbin in a long time…

Funny how things haven't changed much; even now, when a young female goes missing, it's assumed at first she's off with friends or a sweetheart. Delayed search = bad outcome.

That's generally the first thing that is assumed when 'any' child goes missing. And majority of the time it is true; however though that was the officers initial reaction, they did begin a search for the child; there did not appear to be any delayed search in this case. Though it's nobody's fault, the child wasn't reported missing for a whole day until the tea time because it was assumed she was at school.

Mrs. Pay’s angry outburst, blaming the father, feels like the misdirection of her anger toward the father that may have led her to kill the child in the first place, with her barely able to disguise her fury. Is this 100% proof of guilt? Of course not. But on a psychological level it strikes me as suspicious. If I were wrongly accused of a child’s death, would I cry out in rage in court against one of the parents?

The way she inserted herself, wanting to know how things were going. It’s like she was keeping tabs on if they were close to finding anything out, and was getting some sense of thrill off of it. The mom got a bad vibe. I would trust that. It’s not uncommon for the people that insert themselves too intensely in a missing case actually have something to do with what happened.

She was totally guilty. I honestly don’t know why she was found not guilty. Her motive was anger and jealousy. Good morning, It’s always heartbreaking when it comes to a child being killed, and even worse when the case isn’t solved. I hate to say that just because she might have had an affair with Mr. Moore, it doesn’t make her a killer. No one could really identify her. Also, just because the police found blood on something in Mrs. Payne‘s room doesn’t mean that it belonged to Georgina. I wish they would have paid a little bit more attention to the soldier who claims that he helped Mrs. Payne kill Georgina, but I guess we’ll never know. Thank you so much for another very intriguing story. Have a wonderful week and if you’re a father, I hope you had a Happy Father’s Day. Bless

I would have also liked to see them ask her to produce the shawl. It wouldn´t have really proved anything of course, if they were so common, A family member could have easily acquired one, The evidence is all circumstantial., but at the same time it is also Very coincidental. The body turns up in her hometown, the timings, the sightings.. This is one of those where if I had been on the jury I would have had to find not guilty, but every fibre is telling me she wasn´t. She certainly knew a lot more than she was letting on. There is so much missing in this one. It needrf a Not Proven., but of course English law does not have that proviso.

I felt like her brash statement in court was directed at investigators that they should look into the husband's secret affairs. Maybe it was a tactic to shift blame off of herself? Maybe he did have a bad reputation of treating women badly and continously being unfaithful to his wife..? Maybe she was just jealous and angry and trying get back at him for hurting her? Idk but it seems like she was lucky she wasn't found guilty and that it was hard to prove without a shadow of doubt in a court of law.. My gut is telling me she was a part of it.

I believe she killed her. I don't have any way to prove it, but it just seems pretty clear.. and I just have a feeling. The woman seems to have a hang-up with Mr. Moore. She hinted towards him as the killer several times. So if she doesn't get her way, she gets even one way or another. If she couldn't have him he wasn't going to have a happy life again, but she could move on to her next conquest because all she lost was someone else's husband. Well, I hope that child's life was worth it.

My thoughts exactly. I thinks she was certainly involved, if not the outright killer, but the actual evidence was so flimsy. It was very badly handled, even by Victorian standards. Where was the father? Where was this sailor? What were their True relationships with this woman? Why would such a diligent little girl bunk off school? Unless she was with someone she trusted? Why did she end up in a river in the accused´s village? To me that all rules out a random child snatcher.. Not a lot of it makes sense. Her outburst in court certainly showed she believed she had a motive. Why was nothing followed through? Poor little Georgina, her life snatched away, her body discarded like so much trash, yet no justice for her.

Edward Woodward's Suspicious Circumstances, which I'm watching right now on Talking Pictures TV, covered this story.

The police indeed did have a very thin case as regards solid evidence, however, the link between the woman and Yalding, her mother living less than half a mile from where the poor child's body had been discovered, would indicate to me that she was directly involved in the child's death... how many people living in Pimlico would even have heard of Yalding ? Especially at that time when people rarely travelled more than a few miles from home.

The families must of went through hell. Not knowing where or what happened to the child. And, to never get answers. Sad story. Everyone stay safe. ✌️ BC good one. 👍
