Phalkon's 2024 Remaster of "The Most Mysterious Song On The Internet". Digitally separated and remastered, track by track from the original BASF 4/1 recording, uploaded by Lydia H.
"The Most Mysterious Song on the Internet" (also known as "Like the Wind", "The Sun Will Never Shine", "Blind the Wind", "Check It In, Check It Out", "Take It In, Take It Out", and "Summer Blues" after lines in fan-interpreted lyrics; sometimes referred to as "The Mysterious Song", and often acronymed as LTW, TMMS, TMS and TMMSOTI) is the nickname given to a cassette recording of an unidentified song, most likely composed in the 1980s.
The song was recorded from a German Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) radio broadcast sometime during the mid-1980s, likely in or after 1984.[1] Since 2019, this song has been the subject of a viral Internet phenomenon, with many users of sites such as Reddit and Discord involved in a collaborative effort to search for the song's origins and artist.
(Phalkon personally suggests looking into the Reddit group r/TheMysteriousSong for the most up-to-date leads and other information about this song)

i think the next lyric is "the sunwaves of your mind" because of the themes of the sun and summer in the song

I can hear how you may think it's that but it does not make sense. "It's along way away in the subways of your mind" makes sense. I can also hear how some may think it says "your gonna suffer" but since when does wind suffer. Like the wind, your goin' somewhere, let a smile be your companion. I can also hear "let this song be your companion, or let a song be your companion" but I am going to go with let a smile for now. I have seen many other interpretations of the lyrics as well. Yu has a good version. This is typical of rock and roll and its predecessor rhythm and blues. It is often difficult to make out the words. It was even worse when I was a kid, listening to music on an AM transistor radio that faded in and out as you moved and had a speaker about the size of a quarter. PS: Randal Turner looks too young to be involved in this, and he seems a bit unhinged.

@@frankfielder Now that I think about it, I believe that it’s “They’re a long dirty way.” But yeah, I agree with the “You’re gonna suffer” part, because I hear it as “You’re gone in summer/somwhere.”

This song might be “The Lights Go Out” by Blue In Heaven (1983). that song is completely lost and another formerly unknown song by the same band was on one of the TMS radio recording tapes. (Old Ned)

@@thephalkon6140 Hey did you notice if the first half of the song seemed to be spliced together with the second part, especially how there is no guitar in the second part of the song and Alvin Dean's voice seems younger, despite the over lay of a more modern Synthesizer. Let me know when you can!

@@thephalkon6140 The guitar is actually really twangy and recorded in a lo fi way. If you listen to Yannis Beltekis guitar in the song "Know your game" it will sound just like this. It is an older sounding riff reminiscent of the 70's more than the '80's. Also, there is a Reggai Ska Bassline in the background of 'Like the Wind", something most Ska bands of the early '80's used to play. The greek band Sharp Ties has a hit song 'Get that beat' from the early '80's and it has that ska bass beat to it just like "Like The wind." The Greek Group 'Homicide', which had Alvin Dean on Vocals, Kostas Pouthalakis on Guitar, Yannis (Johnny) Beltekis on bass, and Von Claus on Drums has been considered a "Ska" band even though we have no copy of any song they made in the small time they were together. "Like the wind" seems like it would absolutely be a "Homicide" song. This band broke up quickly, but within a matter of days, Pouthalakis had a new band "The Reporters" making Greek Dark Wave english songs as did Alvin dean with Statues in motion and Von Claus with Forward Music Quintet. I think those guys each got a share of "Homicide's" Music and it was put out by each band within the next couple of years. It reminds me of how Curt Cobains wife and Drummer form Nirvana were able to have a few good nirvana sounding hits after Curt Cobain passed away. yeah Cobain's music was promptly taken by others in my opinion. I think "Homicide" Broke up because they couldn't figure out whether to be New Wave or Rock.

Von Claus's drums. You can hear more of his on the 1985 Forward Music Quintet Album. He and Alvin Dean were in the short lived Greek band 'Homicide' before this and there is a picture of Von Claus in full on New Wave regalia on a bus in Greece during the '80's floating around on the internet!

I DON'T THINK THAT RONNIE URINI IS LYING ABOUT IT. HE COULD CLAIM HE DID THE SONG BUT HE IS NOT DOING THAT. HE IS ACTUALLY SAYING WHO DONE THE SONG. Alvin dean sounds the same way in the beginning of This song as he does in 1984 on the Song GHOST, BUT he sounds younger in the second half of the song, I think Yannis Beltakis helped him to splice the two versions together adding his (or Kostas Pouthalakis's original Greek 'Homicide') guitar riff at the beginning and letting Forward Music Quintet copy Billy Knight's synth work for the final half.

Doubt it. If it was, this was before they were famous, but the search has been going on for 20 years. Surely some famous band would have definitively claimed it as theirs by now, but nobody who has has proven to have been telling the truth, though I doubt they were intentionally lying. Far more likely, it was either some East German band who got their music smuggled out of the USSR and broke up for whatever reason, not the least of which being Soviet oppression, before the Berlin Wall came down, or they were West German, but either way, sadly, it's possible none of them are with us anymore, or, more optimistically, at least one of them is still alive today, but they're unaware for various reasons of the internet and the search for the song.
