History about accounts is always interesting to me, to think how many accounts that has been lost to time, inactive, stolen, and probably Migration as well. Not suprised how many accounts have been locked by Mojang and not been able to be re-activated. I remember in 2016 my password stopped working, took 2 months to get it back from Mojang, and that is with ownership details.

i personally despise thiefs who “recover” unique original accounts by cracking the password. That is theft and there is no question about it. Even if they haven’t used the account in 10 years, many adults do come back to games from from their childhood.

A Minecraft account isn't public property and the community is not entitled to rare names. A particular Minecraft account being active is not crucial to any system in the world. So I don't really see the argument that active community members should be allowed to take control of these accounts.

I did something like that with Clash Of Clans but unless you're a really old-school competitive player, nothing I say to explain it would make any sense. LOL We were offered thirty thousand dollars for the clan and most of the accounts in it, which we negotiated up to almost $100k, but we decided it still wasn't enough for what we had. Good times. Fun to be part of something like that.

It really is a mixed bag the way Mojang locked M’s account, for one I admire Mojang’s for acting on scams and theft, but also locking such a cool account is a bit of disappointment. Overall glad for the closure on account, had never knew this before. Great Work Mr. Epic!

It's crazy how M. managed to snipe so many accounts only for those to come in circulation by people selling and buying the accounts. All those names that he sniped are now valued over hundreds if not thousands of dollars. He pretty much pioneered namesniping.

he didn't snipe em, they were free and not wanted by anyone. most of the accounts seen in this video are worth $5k+, so if he really had 40-100 accounts like those, nowadays the amount will be hundreds of thousands of dollars

I remember playing pe before it was sold. One of the first updates after the sale never downloaded on my brothers tablet. He deleted the game (like we always do when updates broke) and was just going to immediately reinstall to force the update. Yeah. It tried making him pay for it again.

Out of all the OG accounts I think this is the one they they actually should treat differently. The account named after the game itself and it's treated like any other? Come on... and the fact that this username was not locked-out from use from the start is also not the best idea, especially given what became of the account in the end.

A youtuber named rekrap2 got locked out of his account because he was using a legacy account so he couldnt migrate to ms when it was mandatory. He has a second channel called rekrap1 where he posted a video explaining it, you should probably go watch it it is rlly intresting

The method to link multiple user names to 1 email is as follows (I used to use this method) Your main account would have example@mail... Then the secondary, example+mc2@mail... 3rd, example+mc3@mail... So on, and so forth. These will all be recognised as unique emails, but will all be sent to the same email account. This is very useful as it works almost everywhere on the internet, and is supported by almost every email provider

Don’t strive to best efficient base, strive to longest base like your goal is to make a base that takes forever to get from 1 spot to the other. Like 500 blocks you must travel from your bed to storage system on a flying machine while watching zombies chase villagers. Funny stuff

Did you actually get the email to connect your Mojang to your Microsoft and then go through the process of doing so? Until you have you can't log in with the Mojang one anymore and your Microsoft account wouldn't be valid yet. If you haven't then this would be like getting confused why your hose isn't pumping out water when you turn it on because you haven't connected the hose to the outlet.

Wait doesn't Mojang know who the original owner is though why don't they just return the account maybe change the details and send it to the original email? Or since most of them weren't paid for in m's case just wipe the accounts off the platform

Without the transaction ID confirming the purchase there is no guarantee that the person requesting their account back is actually the real owner. The original email might have been compromised as well. It could have been hacked or even sold together with the Minecraft account. As for wiping them, they have no reason for that since they can just lock the accounts. If at some point the original owner does manage to find the transaction ID then they can still unlock it. Imagine asking to have you account unlocked and you get the reply "sorry we deleted the account...". (altough M didnt pay for all the accounts, they were still connected to the same email, meaning they were technically legit)
