I wonder if St Thomas practiced contemplative prayer?

I also favor the Franciscan way of the incarnation. Thank you.

This seems to me to be 'Both And'. Not conflicting thoughts but one in the same. Thank you for the perspective!

I am generally a Thomist and align with the Dominican school of thought on most matters (I am discerning the Dominican Order currently) but this is one thing I actually side with Scotus and the Franciscans on.

Thank you Father for explaining the 2 theories. St. Athanasius said God became man so that man could partake in God's divine nature......man will never be God, but man can partake in some of the attributes: Love........so I lean towards Duns Scotus more than Thomas Aquinas.....although i feel funny not agreeing with St Thomas Aquinas......DEUS EST CARITAS!

Pretty masochistic of our Heavenly Father to make St. Francis suffer the crucifixion

I bet to francis, it was the greatest form of love a man could receive. And I bet he cherished every feeling of it
