Lore here! So if you talk to the NPC beside the camera before triggering the quest, he is aware of the thickening fog, BUT after doing the quest (triggering the luxurious chest and viewpoint) if you talk to him again, he won't remember the fog around the island, as if he had never seen any huge sea fog since his birth. That's the power/curse of Natlan ley line, the Night Kingdom, and it tackles an example of it as given from the Natlan AQ (if you had done it of course)!

@@audiAriee A lot of side effects happen, related to how Natlan's Ley Lines are affected. They'll develop a ton of health problems and this is why we've never met any Natlan person in other nations, only mentions of them and travelers who have entered.

The new natlan areas just keeps reminding me of other things. This fog island reminds me of the fog island in Inazuma, and the quest on Ochkanatlan reminds me of the Archon Quest in Mondstadt. 😭😭
