Nice one. Hobby bass player here. Not sure that it helped me mind you other than to support the idea that I play the line adequately. It's possible to find the pocket without copying Wyman's weird groove exactly; at least that's what I'll tell myself the next time I'm playing it. I wonder how The Munch played it when he took BW's place in the band.

Yes it is very bizarre to me! How can he keep changing the part every measure? Is Wyman a genius or what is his deal? I think it is mysterious.

@@brookhoover1384 i would NOT go with genius... although keeping your job with a legendary rock band while staying in the background, and then quitting on your terms is pretty genius-like It's a pretty cool line though. After I watched your vid I looked for some tutorials/covers/isolated sound bits, so maybe I'll do it better next time. The singer is sick of singing it, but it gets the ladies on the dance floor...

I think it's pretty darn cool. How long have you played it? I bought the single when it was new and tried to learn it then.

@@brookhoover1384 Just a few years I guess, since I started with this trio... I don't remember what album it was on, I had Some Girls and Sucking in the 70s... never a huge Stones fan but bass players don't choose the music usually so I've learned a ton of their songs. If I don't like the band I can always choose between 10 others lol. Last night we played Honkey Tonk Woman at practice, which I have played past the point of loathing now, but am fine to break it out live. I did have the thought that I'm done if they make me play that every practice. Your band name is great BTW

WOW! Ya I have played in some full time touring bands with songs I did not really like. Some songs I hated! But I tried to not complain. I've gotten to a point where I can just tune it out. THANKS!

Wyman's bass lines have always struck me as being very loose and, who knows, just cobbled together. Unlike someone like McCartney that were more natural and an intricate part of the song.

Right, I just don't know! Big fan of the tunes but what that guy was doing I have no clue!
