Evidence for an untelevised gap between the Doctor's malfeasance tribunal and his arrival on Earth includes him arriving in the TARDIS, his post-regenerative trauma, which suggests he regenerated due to injury, wearing a fobwatch, a metabolism detector on the TARDIS lock, and his amnesia, which suggests the Timelords wiped his memories of what occurred between his trial and his exile to Earth. It's even possible the Fugitive Doctor exists in this hypothetical gap, and that he joined the Division to evade the Time Lords by hiding outside of Time. When they discovered him, the Second Doctor regenerated into a woman and hid on Earth. After her identity returned, she was eventually mortally injured in some mission and regenerated. The Time Lords might have managed to use a device they installed in the TARDIS to remove his memories of Season 6B and direct him to Earth to begin his exile.

The Doctor's backstory is still very in flux (pardon) in 1970, a lot of what's All There in the Manual for revival fans is introduced very gradually to the original series; OG writers don't even agree if the First Doctor is just from the future or also from space. In extended media post-War Games, the Time Lords' planet is sometimes identified as "Jewel." A good deal of specifically Gallifreyan lore comes from 70s stories by Robert Holmes: Time Lords having two hearts (Spearhead from Space), the name Gallifrey (The Time Warrior) and just about everything in the Deadly Assassin.

It was never colourised, I don’t even think there are black and white copies, the one that I’ve uploaded is the upscaled (don’t tell me where I got it from) remastered “bluray” one, which is so much better than the DVD special edition and Britbox ones.

@@ParakoEPC Jon Pertwee is the first Doctor I remember and one of my favourites. It coincided with my family getting a colour TV which was a big excitement. Fond memories of hiding behind the couch when the baddies came on😂Especially the cyber men. Terrifying.

So much better than all the NuWho with the exception of Matt Smith. The rest of the NuWho are,TERRIBLE actors - all they do is make annoying faces for an hour. Intolerable. Here we have a solid actor who isn't desperately struggling to be interesting because he just is interesting.

@@Goat4459 it's easy, they stink, especially Tennant who has never turned in a single legit performance; all he does is make stupid manic faces from one to a moment. There is not an ounce of truth or reality in the shit he does. Capaldi is better but at least he's third rate. Tennant is just plain obnoxious at best and horrible ordinarily. The reboot did not catch on until Moffit took over and the brilliant Matt Smith took over, especially in the US where millions of teens who never heard of DW went mad for him. Capaldi is just an awkward, unlikable ham who took that terrific farewell speech and handled it like an awkward, over-theatrical vaudvillian. If you like the shit Tennant and Capaldi did, with their inferior ratings, that's your problem. The unspeakably horrible Whitaker, acting more like a companion who takes breaks from being terrified to lecture like narcissistic librarian with a superiority complex has rating numbers which match her acting ability: in the toilet. Once again, if you like her, it is nit because you are part of a highly intelligent minority, its because you are a nerd with absolutely atrocious personal artistic taste in acting.
