My idea of Sabians was that they were a group of people, misguided and worshipped something. However they believed in a god in the last day and in doing good and avoiding evil. The Sabeans mentioned in the Quran followed John the baptist and see him as the final prophet. They also recognise the prophets that came before him and are considered children of the book. An important notice, you'll never, ever see the word Holy ascribed to , or written on the Quran in Arabic. You you'll never hear an Arab speaking Muslim use the equivalent of the word Holy to describe the Quran in Arabic. I clicked on this video because I thought that it would shed some light on an astrological technique called the Sabian Symbols. The great astrologer and astrological philosopher Dane Rudhyar worked with a psychic to come up with a different symbol for each degree of the zodiac - a total of 360 degrees in all. The Sabian Symbols is a commonly used divination technique in modern astrology, due to the great influence of Dane Rudhyar. I was hoping that your video would shed some light on why the heck Dane Rudhyar called them SABIAN symbols, and not something else. My best guess as to the meaning of "Sabian" would mean "sword bearers", since "Sabia" means "sword" in Spanish - which is probably derived from Latin. I guess that I will have to look elsewhere for why the heck Dane Rudhyar called them SABIAN symbols!

Very interesting brother. I have often wondered who the Sabians were. Star gazing and seeking knowledge from how we can utilise the Stars for navigation etc was of great importance at the time of The Golden Age of Islam. In fact all of the Stars have/ had Arabic names. Sabians are from a PERSIAN mystical group who converted from Zoroastrianism. As for Christianity, it is the belief that Jesus is the Messiah foretold in the Torah by Moses but rejected by the Children of Israel. Why the Greeks translated Messiah(HaMashiak) as Christos is a different debate but suffice to say that in the Qur'an Mary gave birth to Christ which makes the Muslims Christians of a different Apostolic Tradition, Tradition that endorses the Council of Jerusalem which Paul and the Council of Nicea rejected. That said, it is a linguistic mistake to translate Nazareans by Christians. Nazareans appears in the bible in connection with Paul's trial before the Roman Governor where he accused of being a leader of the Nazareans. The least we can say is that Nazareans are those who follow the teaching and reject circumcion and the decision of the Council of Jersalem in Acts 15:1-32... If Muhammad stands as a placeholder or Euphemism for Messiah, then Jesus is Muhammad and Muhammad is Abu Al-Quasim.
