@krozeodan ghosts are definitely real to some extent. Many many years ago my clock launched off the wall at full force to the other side of the room shattering immediately. It was like somebody picked it up in a rage and threw it full force into the wall. Yet I was the only person in the room... I've still been unable to explain how it happened and I've been going over theories in my head for the past 15 years.

I had a weird experience in Tumbleweed way back, shortly after the game came out. Hearing the online rumours about the town being haunted, I went there specifically looking for ghosts. I cleared out the bandits and hung around the mansion until nightfall, but nothing was happening. Getting bored, I started shooting at the wrecked piano that sits in the middle of the main room. I don't know if that's what triggered it, but out of nowhere, small animals started spawning in the room and running away, out of the door and down the steps of the mansion, one at a time... Raccoons, armadillos, badgers etc. I don't know if it was a glitch, or what... It seemed too random to be an Easter egg.

The Blackwater ghost is 100% legit. I walked into the Blackwater bank about 8 years ago on a playthrough before I knew it was a thing and there was a man on the bench outside reading a paper and I heard the line "I know you, you killed me" and I shat bricks and went back outside and he was gone. But because I am an idiot, I spent about 2 minutes walking around trying to see if the npc simply got up and walked off, so when I hit record it didn't capture him saying the line, just me walking back outside 😂

I was an OG RDR1 player, and any time I've been there I have heard the footsteps, coughs, whispers, and weird music stop-and-go's (don't know if I ever went at night or noticed lights at night though).

I was actually feeling the same way today. Very lonely playing RDR online. I haven't played online since the release of this game in 2018. I no longer have any friends that play online. So I was 100% alone trying to figure out how online is now. I am the lowest rank bottom of the barrel with barely any money. It really sucks but I'm slowly starting to get the swing of things and get him back into the online atmosphere. As far as the story mode I've been playing it non-stop this whole year again. I'm still finding things that I haven't seen before. Fantastic video as always. I really enjoy your content on Red Dead redemption

I hadn't heard of the Multiplayer Meteor myth before. Perhaps, much like the cut dialogue about the Lake Don Julio monster, or GTA's whole Bigfoot debacle, the "missing" third Meteor fragment in RDR2 is a subtle nod to the community myth. Just to add a little bit of credence to the Tumbleweed church being haunted, even if the town is now abandoned, there wouldn’t be any evil spirits there. Even if the church was destroyed, it’s consecrated/holy ground. However, I can’t exactly explain the Undead Nightmare version of the town, though. Well, other than the curse brought on by the mask…

I can't even play post-game RDR as Jack. There's just not enough going on, plus the world feels too hollow now. All the threads were tied up, there's no old gang to hunt, Jack doesn't really have any acquaintances of his own, etc. It's just Jack being lonely and strange. Feels eerie and odd trying to keep going after completing the main campaign, with no other real goals anymore.

The crazy part is me and my friend used to be insanely obsessed with proving John martson's ghost and Rufus. So for John's ghost it really wasn't anything other then footsteps and maybe sometimes his whistle But for Rufus we were able to hear the dog barks, and when we stayed around he eventually spawned! We couldn't shoot him due to him being a friendly target. It is definitely an oversight developmental wise but seeing this being mentioned gave me such a chill down my spine!

So funfact about Tumbleweed. I think the main reason people feel it is haunted, is it is possible to accidentally avoid the script trigger for the town fight before the house. See you have to start that fight to open the mansion up, as enemies run out if the mansion to attack. If you avoid the town, the mansion enemies spawn but can’t physically get to you, nor can you enter the house, leading to “ghost voices and footsteps”, you can hear from outside, which eventually led to the ghost lady myth

The first Red Dead Redemption is so interesting, it was obviously an 'experiment' for Rockstar as they were developing their new RAGE engine along the game, while also testing a completely new genre for them. It's the last Rockstar game were you can see Rockstar San Diego's own flavour to the mechanics and world, after this one, all titles were developed by all R* studios as a team and it's Rockstar North that usually leads the projects in a particular way.

So what I find interesting is that RDR2 actually helps explain a few of these myths The werewolf just being a replaced human? Well the donkey lady example was so popular that it was added as an easter egg in RDR2. Who's to say something similar didn't/couldn't happen with a wolf? Extremely rare, but if enough players visit the area it could happen. The lake I believe was confirmed via data mining in RDR2 to originally have a legendary fish like other places. But this one, you'd see someone fishing for it first before they get pulled into the water! Not canon of course since it was never added, but still interesting. Armadillo in RDR2's epilogue I think actually confirms the town is cursed. The shopkeeper has a photo of the Mysterious Stranger and at the mysterious strangers cabin you can find a message on a map of Armadillo that goes along the lines of choosing between health or two generations. Looting the shop keep in RDR2, we find a letter from his daughter saying she's running off to be with a man whom her dad doesn't approve and also tells him that she's pregnant. I suppose we know who made that choice and what that choice was. Man got a whole town cursed.

Hearing Rufus in Beecher's Hope reminds me of something. Idk if this is why you can still hear him but I wonder if Jack is remembering him. I had a pet cat for most of my life and she was so old she was in my room laying on my bed 90% of the time. When she died I kept pausing on the way into my room because I forgot that she wasn't going to be there. And then I kept remembering the meows she made when she saw me because I no longer heard them. I wonder if its like that. Jack being so used to hearing Rufus's barks the absence causes him to hear them again. As for John appearing in mirrors, well Jack looks a lot like him.

The name Leviticus, as in Leviticus Cornwall, is from the book in the Old Testament, and it means the law of the priests, so Dutch is being followed by the law when Cornwall pursues him through the map.

Love these games man. Remember going looking for the lake monster in both titles. Doesn't matter if most of them are myths. The game atmosphere & music make them entirely believable!👻

The meteor video has to be the direct inspiration behind why the meteor crash sites/meteorite collectibles ended up in 2, right? Cos if that wasn’t intended to be a wink to the community in that way, that’s the mother of all coincidences. 😂
