Well done. Had me fooled. While watching I was amazed at how they managed to mount a camara so it was absolutely rock solid. Then I realized you can't, at least not in 1937, or 2007 for that matter.

You had me until @1:17 when I realized those are screen space reflections of trees in the water and the reflection doesn't show the tops of the trees as they are outside of the screen. And a few seconds later @1:25 they disappear abruptly as they get culled.

Must be some realy good race Simulator. Can't be real, not enough spray from wheels and on windscreen. Whenever off track it gets unrealistic. Also, how big would camera and reels be, considering the technology of the time. Still, it is very impressive.

They had the camera to do this, the thing that give it away is the driver hand movement it is unrealistic

Hahah, nice one. But in general, well edited! Got tricked first couple of seconds, but then wheel reacts like keyboard driving (being primarily back to quick-dropin keyboard driver myself this year due to lack of time), and then the camera position and quality (ok first split second thought some 80ies restauration) and 2nd corner/right-sweeper with Pepsi-Cola advertising seemed quite newer than 1937 😀

This is proof that this recording is (edit: a good) fake. Hohenrain chicane was installed in 1967. I suspect this is AC with the 1967 Nordschleife- Mod. Jumping hills near Brünnchen and in front of Schwalbenschwanz are still there.

Yes, looks like he used a keyboard or a controller. A wheel would have looked a lot more believable. But to be honest, it's very hard to recreate driving these old cars in a sim no matter the equipment. If you steered the same way as the drivers back in the day did, you'd end up in a ditch on the first turn. I think handling isn't particularly realistic in Assetto Corsa with the old beasts.

@@andrewbarrick8787 I instantly saw it. The twitching wheel and the drifting while going straight, and the poor film scratches overlay gave it away, before the suspiciously clear reflections blink in and out of view 39 seconds in, as he navigates a chicane that hadn't been built in 1937.

you had the amount of water on the track at 100% if you had put a much less amount of water with transitions from dry and wet it would have been much more realistic

His fake yep , but just a reminder back in the 30s they had enough technologies to attach camera to cars...if u think around 37/40 cameras attached to stukas or to spitfire , fw which starts recording only when plane where dive or about to shoot (manually or automatically activated) .. but all that race stuff while is pretty easy find those kind of video in the hand of privates is not Easy find them in good shape..who choose to pre-work on them spent sure lot of Money and the end product finish off in museum Military videos are another pairs of hand's...if u think most of Words words pics and videos are still secretated...
