I was also used as a prop that made him look better. He became furious when I stopped playing the social sidekick role and just stood silent when we were out together. I was so depleted by the end, I actually just did not have any energy to transmit! It took me ten years after I left to fully recover. I was in my late 50s by then. He was just the latest and the LAST, which included both of my parents. I ended up no contact with my entire extended family and everyone I knew. There was no way to salvage the kinds of sick relationships I had formed or allowed due to my ignorant way of being. It has truly been a spiritual awakening. There is peace on the other side! 😊

Never knew there were people who could not love. I went round an round with the narc thinking that there was love in there somewhere. That is why I kept working to make things better in the relationship. Had I not got so sick I would still be there today. All the pain it took to get my life back was worth it. You are describing the dark triad of personality. Narcissism, Machiavellianism and Psychopathy. I'm seeing the worst of this now going through separation, but determined to stay the course. One of the worst things I experienced was the 'trauma bond'. When he cheated for a year with a co-worker (8yrs ago) I was conflicted, at the same time he was the source of great emotional pain and the person I turned to for support and comfort. Yes, I went through the same! The dark triad is devastating. My ex's psychopathy had him cheating constantly, manipulating effortlessly, lying without batting a lie, taking every cent he could just like a parasite. His favorite phrase was "the end justifies the means" and he sure as hell lived that way as he did everything to gain power and look powerful to his peer group. He caused me so much hell.

I had to remind myself recently that healing can happen in waves. I thought I was safely ’on shore’, and found myself swept into the ocean of fear and anxiety recently. Kind of a shock, I didn’t see it coming. One year since I divorced him and he moved out. God gives us the grace we need for life’s situations. I'm having a really hard time with finding a new and healthy relationship with a 'regular' person after escaping my narc ex 3 years ago. I feel like such a fool sometimes, It's very difficult for me to believe anybody has righteous intentions anymore. I have no contact (even tho she tries) but after the smear campaign was set off to everybody I know (she used my socials friends lists) I notice some people treat me differently, but I don't even know what was said... It just sucks. I'm only 26 and I've come to the realization I've never had a 'real' relationship cause the one I thought was real out of the bunch turned out to be lies. I do dream of what It's like to be in a real and loving relationship though, I can only imagine what it's like when it's genuine. I appreciate the words of advice, nobody really understood my situation and I just felt shunned and all alone.

The devaluation (longest section of relationships), the entrance and exits of various supply sources- especially in the work realm. This is huge for me. Honestly if you think about it’s applicable to it all. Any and every relationship that has a narcissist. My favorite part of that timeline is the expiration date. That’s God saying, you’re free honey.

Thanks for reminding me that I won if I am living at the beach and I am literally living at Jax Beach. Exactly! The narcissist acts mechanically, becomes predictable... (with time, you'll learn this) because it's in a loop where it traps you. As long as you don't understand where you are, you are trapped under this spell, and even if you get rid of one narcissist it is very likely that you will fall into the hands of another soon after, because you are still bleeding and they will come in your wake... True- had more than 1 Narc entanglement, but when you find this education, the light bulb moment comes on and all the patterns line up. Then, you realize, Narcs are neither original thinkers or unique. They rely on a set of robotic ( 'mechanical' as you say ) emotions, like they've done this before. They try to find vulnerable prey and set into motion, the usual scheme. They'll always underestimate people and they know they've got to take as much as they can before you figure it out or are worn out.

They care about "their OWN comfort" and let you suffer. Their words are merely Word Salad. No change occurs. Can someone do these things and not be a narcissist??? Could it be some other issue they have?? What if they take care of you and are good to you in other ways? It can be so cofusing. I have 2 diff people in my life who exhibit narcissistic tendencies, (one more so than the other), because one is much nicer, (do genuinely good things) yet detached.

It is horrible and shocking to realise they don't care but have truly mastered the art of pretending and even tailored it to match our deepest needs. There is a vast difference between fake love and real love. It is good to identify the situation from their perspective. They are stuck in a loop and don't change but we are not and we can change. Great video, Andrew! The ending really made me giggle😆 You constantly put a smile on my face☺️ with your jokes about the Narcississt and the other activity in your environment. These people are def on a loop. We can break free, move forward, introspect & heal. They will still be stuck in the cycle of trying to manipulate, using people & staying miserable. I do believe we get better, and they get worse. Once the Narcississt was out my life, it hurt. It hurt for awhile and the healing path is involved and challenging. I know I tried my best and I cared lot, like I always do. It does seem that it's the worst thing for awhile once they're gone, going through the break-up and letting go. I know I cared a lot and tried my best. So many realizations about this person that I don't need it be around someone so miserable and manipulative. Once they're out your life, it's a good thing. Even though it doesn't seem like it at first and for awhile because of the pain, trauma, and shock factor. They will still keep doing the same thing; hating everyone, refusing to change, and being unaccountable. I really see now post-relationship, it's gonna be alright, it's not my fault, I tried, this was meant to happen, and they were a terrible person. I deserve better and I'm keeping them out my life✨💜😌🙏💜

Thank you for acknowledging that at first and for a while it’s difficult to be out of and away from the relationship. You’re absolutely right, being out of it can cause a lot of heartache and pain especially when the trauma bond was so severe. Not that it’s an excuse, but the trauma bond is excruciating because you just keep waiting to get back to the good stage again. The part where everything is okay and things go back to normal. The harsh reality is that it’s not normal and it was never normal, it’s a trick being played on you. Your mind and body get so used to the strict cycle that it’s almost like detoxing when you don’t have the stimulus. Your post was really great and insightful!!

Sometimes I think, "Wow, I can't believe a lot of what happened." I really went through that. He really did those those things and treated me poorly. I never did anything to deserve that. Im leaving my apartment tomorrow. So tired of being yelled at and called a bitch every day. Im going to stay in a hotel for a few weeks until i get another apartment. Going to break my lease because he will know where i am if i stay there. He threatened to kill me or have someone else beat me up. He said i need that. Going to go home after work, get my cat and some clothes. Making a must have list right now. My new couch and my new tv i bought over the summer will probably be destroyed or sold by him. Trying to not think about the details of the 9 and a half year relationship i have been in because i will cry and feel so bad, foolish. One step at a time. Going full no contact, changing my phone number. Maybe fake my own death.

An added note: If you have children with such a person, they WILL use them as a source against you...sometimes playing like they are 'on your side'. You may not notice until their mid-teen years, when you feel that rebellion is just part of the stage of age. It is also not until a few relationships later, that your child(ren) are exampling similar behaviors of manipulation upon others. Reality, It was the Narcissist playing their Sick, Twisted, Mind Game using us as pawns in the Triangle Snare! (No one is off limits to a Narcissist) Please stay connected with your children! Bizarre loop is right. Surely they must get tired of it all... I did a time storyline for my former manfriend, and what appeared on paper was a succession of empty relationships, that even overlapped at times. His life story was a disaster that continues on today. I could not live that way. Lovely to see the dogs, Nelson and Nola. My two dogs have kept me sane by their steadiness and love. Andrew was love bombed by a dragonfly. The kind that are like military helicopters. Must be good luck.❤

This was a great video! The loop the narcissist is described as being stuck in makes me think of a black hole and it just keeps sucking in everyone and everything it can. It’s a true bottomless pit that endlessly and aimlessly cycles. It can be so hard not feeling bad for these individuals. It’s as if you just want them to wake up from whatever trancelike state they’re in so they can see what they’re doing and understand how they make others around them feel. If only they could acknowledge the damaging effects they’ve caused too, but of course they would never be able to do that and it won’t happen. Thank you very much for making another great video! The games keep you second guessing yourself because you just want everything to be okay again. I understand where you’re coming from because in my second relationship, the most recent one, I tried to help him too. It’s difficult to help someone when they don’t want to be helped and they continually do things to push you away, but then want you right back. I held on for as long as I could, I didn’t want to leave him, but as you mentioned things only got worse in my situation too. I’m really sorry to hear children were involved in your situation, I hope everyone is okay. I’m safe, which is good and I’m glad you are safe too. Looking into it there are many organizations who help women and children get out of situations, they’re a blessing. 🙏 Thank you for your kind words about not letting anyone steal your joy or your life. ❤Don’t allow anyone to steal your joy or your life either. I’ve got a lot to figure out and I’ve got a lot to heal from. I will say this, when the abusive cycle has been something you’ve learned to deal with it’s really hard not to feel like a victim. This is why over the past couple of months I’m understanding the importance of healing and taking the necessary steps to do so. I’m very grateful to have found this channel. ❤️ I’m currently reading books about codependency and how to live your most successful life. 😆 I can give you the titles if you’d like. Journaling helps quite a bit, walking, and meditating have all been helpful. 🙂 There are so many informational and helpful videos to watch too! It’s a rabbit hole! Once you get started on a topic it leads you to more, and more, and more! I did a guided hypnosis video which was interesting. You’re right!! There IS so much to be happy about, it can be hard at times when you’re caught in the middle of things. Affirmations are good! Learning to be mindful. I watched a video yesterday and it said just take 5 minutes to sit without anything else going on, close your eyes, and just be. Feel the presence of the moment. This will probably sound goofy, but being outside in the breeze is really nice it almost feels like the universe is talking to you through the wind. 🌲🌳 Being grateful for what we do have and what’s around us is important. I love your realization! “He wasn’t my world and he never was.” Oh my gosh, these are wise words. Very wise words. Sometimes when you’re in the relationship you get caught up in this exact notion, but it’s not healthy. You see it though, you see it everywhere with people who are in relationships. I’m guilty of this mind frame, that’s for sure. Please continue to stay safe and don’t forget you are worthy! You are enough! @@danielle1103Thank you Lovely 🥰 Andrew has been so wonderful in bringing us all together to help us heal 🥰It is so easy when in that kind of relationship to loose our selves and start to believe what these awful people say to us. I am so glad you are able to find places to help. When i started going through it, it was the 80's and resources were limited. We got away several times but he would always find us and threaten me if i didn't go back. He used to scare me to death. I finally got away in 2003. He said he was leaving me for his ex. He thought i was sad but really i was trying to figure out who i could call to come get us. With a narcissist you have to play your cards just right or you will never get away! I got away with the two boys age 13 and 20. My older son got a girlfried and moved on and the ex found me again and talked my youngest into going back with him ☹I tried to get him back several times but he was of age to be able to make up his own mind on who he wanted to live with.My ex had our land and motorcycles. I left with the kids and bags of clothes so i left him everything just to get away. I met a wonderful man and married him. My ex still kept hoovering me.I kept in touch with him because of my son and the older one moved back on the property with his wife then soon moved out after building a house there because of his father, so you would think that he would not be like him but unfortunately the older one is acting like him now ☹The younger one who is 34 now was living next to him and the ex narc. nearly drove him crazy, broke him and his wife up, called the police on my son for no reason etc. My Dad passed away and left me his house and i have sent my son to live there till my husband and i are able to move there with him. I don't know why i said all this. Maybe so people will understand that the kids do end up getting hurt☹I wish i had known then what Andrew is teaching us now. I would not wish this pain on anyone and i hope someone reading this might understand the severity of being with a narcissist and get away and save themselves before it is too late. They are incapable of loving their own children. They just use them. It has been 20 years since i left and still have nightmares. I would love to hear your book recommendations 🥰 I clearly have not healed completely. I think you are on the right track ☺Affirmation cards are Wonderful and journaling and soaking up all you can learn about the subject. I agree ! Going outside and feeling the breeze on your face is so good for the Soul. I particularly like the Ocean and the Mountains. I like taking long walks on trails and remembering that i am safe now. I am still with the man i married and he is still Wonderful ☺❤Life is much better now but the scars remain.
