It hasn't been so long ago ..maybe just about 5 years or so that I realized both my parents were narc... Dad overt, mom covert. During this journey my boyfriend was at my side there to listen and try to understand. I had never met his mom because she lives in Germany. When I did get to see her in the flesh and saw how she was treating my boyfriend and me, I knew straight away she was a narc. I held my tongue for a couple of months because my boyfriend (39 years old) still thought his mother was perfect.. because she constantly told him she was. I finally said something about a month ago and he started putting the pieces together. It came to a head on Dec 25 '17 when he told her he thought her moving from Germany to live with him was a bad idea.. He gave valid reasons for it. She blew up. She told him he was mental, she threw everything in the narc book at him. She even blamed me at one point. They have been No Contact for almost a month now and he finds it very relaxing knowing she won't be calling him making him feel bad about being himself. I think a lot of people know a narc and just don't know how to recognize the signs. Hopefully with youtube and videos like yours people will begin waking up.

Yep mine hurt me badly my Covert Narc Spouse! Painful all of it!! He said he had Shame & Guilt wanting to become Vulnerable but he could not. Nope- he instead ran & hid. Afraid hiding from me...

You would think I would have gotten a clue the very first time he made a rather odd remark, stating that everything happens for a reason. That my husband died so that I could live with him as well as take care of him.

Having Coffee 7:30 am- I understand have a dog & a puppy they are loving pets-my husband preferred screaming at me daily criticizing me telling me “your not good enough”. I stared back at him thinking yeah right I’m taking care of our home & pets why your constantly trying to put me down for being kind to you too- whatever Man you’ve got serious problems! I’ve been nothing but a kind caring devoted wife to you & all you do is put me down. Strange how they act mean & very cold hearted- they don’t look at themselves at all! Only sit & Judge you trying to make you feel like you don’t matter.
