Heck, it could be the 50 car as a nod to the NASCAR Thunder NBC/TNT cars that were branded under Benny Parsons. After all, this was before The Money Team....

Now I have to hope that someone collects all of the footage of the 2001-08 NBC and TNT cars... It was used in both the intro, hype packages, and the NBC or TNT opening ID... Plus, 2008 was not a typo. The 2007-08 TNT intro used recycled footage of the car, albeit zoomed in to avoid the Pontiac name and filtered. Plus, the 2004-06 intros have a "blink, and you'll miss it" shot of the car.
