I AGREE 💯!!! I just hate it when people WHOVE been friends & band mates & loved each other forever can just walk away selling all of everyone’s secrets, music & stories to the highest bidders!!! It’s been MY Experience that Poor Ole Robert John was ABSOLUTELY NOT THE ONLY PERSON WHO TRADED THEIR SOULS FOR RICHES AND FAME!!! It’d been going on since the beginning of time & will be going on until the end of time!!! And who knows??? If these people can get their stuff in to a bullet, bomb, flood & fire proof vault somewhere in hell knows where,,, it will re-emerge and they’ll be music icons forever!!! It’s worked for others too many to count!!! And I recon they deserve the accolades seeing as how they must’ve surely went down to the crossroads and they gave up everyone and everything they could’ve ever hoped for ; FOR A SHOT AT FAME & once they had it they traded it for the back road alleyways of lifetimes of not really so great drugs,,, great sums of money or for sure not such Great Partners in Life, Love or Family!!! But hey they could pat themselves on the backs and Pat each other on the backs for once having it ALL & just how little time it took to lose it ALL!!! Ole Devil goes down to more places than Georgia!!! He goes down to back roads, back streets, alleyways, back yards, back rooms & back pews in The Churches, of all denominations , every day, year, decade, on & on & on!!! Which reminds me of another cool song!!! On and On!!! They just keep on tryin. And they smile when they feel like crying,,, On & On,,, On & On,,, On & On!!! 1970’s.

You meet disagree but The Coverdale Page collaboration was an extraordinarily strong showing. It was Paige's most creative work since In Through The Out Door and Coverdale's most serious work since The pre Glam days of the early 80s. Walking Into Clarksdale simply did not hold a candle to it. Not only that, but leaving JPJ out of the collaboration and the live performances was a very ungentlemanly thing to do. I lost a lot of respect for Mr Page and Mr Plant when they did that.

I loved Page with the Black Crowes too. How they rank among Page's collabs? Ranking is not my thing but they weere really great together. As for JPJ wooo Them Crooked Vultures werae so great. Above all things from any of them post-Zeppelin I think the best musicianship has been found in Robert Plant's solo career. The various ensembles he has collab with, and his work with Alison Krause have been legendary. Bonzo's son Jason Bonham is notable in this conversation too. He has been a force as a rock drummer. Led Zeppelin is def a candle that was burned out too soon. It's a shame they didn't get a long better. I always thought it was noble of them to decide together that the band couldn't continue without Bonham because it just wouldn't be Led Zeppelin without him. I had been hanging on that proof of their brotherhood. It would be disappointing to think it was bullshit. Another band that has had a lot of drama like this is Yes. I can't even listen to their new stuff without Jon Anderson.

I actually enjoyed the Coverdale/Page album and wished they'd done more. That said, it wasn't at all Zeppelinesque and the there's no replacing Robert Plant. I don't know why JPJ got left out in the cold. Seems dirty, but there was probably some "creative differences" or something. I'm incredibly grateful that they all managed to play nice long enough to give us Celebration Day.

David Coverdale has an amazing voice and think maybe there is a lot of jealousy on the part of Robert Plant regarding that, a rock star ego thing.

Oh Bullshit. Plant was doing the now and Zen tour and Jimmy page would perform 2 to 3 days later in the same city with Page and Coverdale would do there tour. Page and Plant did this all over the U.S. for a couple of years until the reunited. I know because i.went to both shows. In Philadelphia.

it's rich how plant criticizes singers for sounding like him, but never mentions how he learned every vocal chop that steve marriott imparted to him whilst being steve's gopher way back when. no steve and robert would still be crooning like elvis to this very day 🙄

The Coverdale Page cd was really good! Somebody put them together, neither was looking to play with one another.they really got along great and They should have done another cd. Plant is the shitty one. Why would he all of a sudden want to reunite with Page once Coverdale Page was successful?

*FACT: Diamond Head are the natural successors of Led Zeppelin! As stated by many even! They had/have obvious influences without sounding like them & do it masterfully! Kingdom Come stated their love of LZ & pulled it off well. They ride a line, but don't cross it; Keeping enough originality. Unlike Other bands do; ie GVF etc! Worse is that they lie about it now! Yet I never thought Dave was too similar either. Not like he dyed & permed his hair to look like Robert. Dave just happened to look similar. From early on, ie Deep Purple+, probabl influences, as many had, yet twas original enough. So never understood the hatred so much~
