For all you out there that are putting him down because he is man enough to be totally honest about his career and how he became aware of his inability to match it with the bigger stronger and younger player was in my books very brave and before you put him down he at least played AFL which is more than you hater's have done

@@patkelly6349 You don't need to have played a sport in order to understand it really well. I can give you a whole list of good-great former players like him that spout absolute biased and ill-informed nonsense when it comes to punditry such as Paul Pierce on ESPN, Paul Merson and Graeme Souness on Sky Sports Football, most of the ESPN FC pundits. Michael Owen on BT Sport, etc. Just because you played at a higher level of the game for x amount of years, doesn't mean you actually understand it that well. In Kane Cornes case and those examples I mentioned that is very prevalent. Ironically its generally analysts that never played the game at any professional level that tend to know the most and bring about the most thorough, mostly unbiased commentary and punditry out there unless you are Caroline Wilson. Some players are good and even great at it but I have always noticed a running trend in all the sports I follow thus far that those players had a high IQ and read the game very well in their playing careers such as Cameron Ling, Matthew Richardson, Malcolm Blight when he used to commentate for Channel 7 and Channel 10 in the background, Tim Watson and Leigh Matthews. Blight and Matthews especially who became two of the best Coaches in the history of the game. Would you say Kane Cornes had a high IQ in his playing career. Heck no. A whole host of players in his position during his career had a much higher IQ and read the game much better.

I love Kane (in a Platonic, non-bromance way), his father is a champion of the game who played for Glenelg (mostly), and a notorious Port hater, I communicated with Kane via Facebook one time during a club communique, apologizing to him about the stuff we used to yell at his dad (as Port supporters), he took it all as the joke it was meant to be and said: "I'll blame you for him hating Port; haha." He wasn't a fancy, smooth player of the game, but his tenacity and determination was exceptional, if we had 18 Kane Cornes playing at once we would have won ten premierships.
