We need to solidify manufacturing and strengthen supply chains but if we do, it needs to be grounded in being future focused and efficient. This is why we need to ensure we layer AI with blockchain smart contracts, and digital supply chain twins. We need transparent scope 3 emissions reporting so we can better understand how reliant our global 1000, fortune 100 and 500 are on foreign countries through their supply chains. This is important because those companies produce staple goods for Americans and if we are too reliant on foreign countries this can cripple us during war. We also need to ensure we have a very clear understanding how impactful climatic events will be on each respective sector and these types of companies. We need to have a defense strategy that limits some supply chain transparency to foreign governments, whom may be associated with bad actors and consider these vulnerabilities during times of war. We also need to solidify security across our borders, need to streamline legalized immigration of educated professionals aka in specialist categories, and improve deportation processes for illegal immigrants. It’s incredibly scary how many bad actors could be taking advantage of the perceived open southern border.

Acquisition agility needs to be tied to the digital supply chains and smart contracts which are tied to blockchain. We need to standardize the agreed basic specifications so we can buy in bulk. If we want to be efficient, we need to think like the manufacturers and how they create production lines. We need to ensure we aren’t over complicating their production lines with our add on’s, so it can speed up production and decreases cost. Sourcewell has interesting agreed rates for standard work. We need to be able to baseline contracts against one another with similar scope, so we can identify fraud and over billing.

There is also an additional consequence if Russia does not lose the war in Ukraine that is not addressed in the discussions. Namely, that we citizens lose confidence that our politicians are able to protect our democracies. Which will drastically reduce the hope for a better future. In Russia and China, on the other hand, the people will be given increased confidence in a new world order that will benefit them.
