When he originally wrote these volumes, what was the media/method (parchment, tablet, paper). I understand that it was produced as a book in the 1400's but was the original ???? Thx

It would have likely been animal skins or papyri and was either in the format of scrolls, or books which was a new invention from around Augustus time if Im not mistaken
