The Navigators Of The Astral Express | Honkai Star Rail Lore

In honkai star rail, the nameless are synonymous with Akivili, the astral express and the path of the trailblazing as they are the group that have chosen to travel with the aeon of trailblazing. Because just about anyone can join the nameless, their group seems like a random assortment of people with barely any hierarchy holding them together. In truth though there are a few roles one can take about the astral express such as a guard, archivist and the ever important navigator.
In this video we are going to discuss the navigators of the astral express and go through what is it they do, how does an individual become one and most importantly all the past navigators of the astral express.
Some part of this video comes from the actual lore while others may be speculation on my part as we currently do not know the full story. As such take it with a grain of salt as the point of this video is just a deeper dive into Honkai Star Rail lore.

It's intersting that the Astral Express was not just a single train, but it's a fleet of many trains but after Akivili's fall all most every train lost it's way and was lost in space apart from the train that fall in Himeko's world which was restored. Pretty safe to say that Himeko revived the Nameless faction by herself. Gotta give credit where credit is due, Himeko is the GOAT for reviving a dead faction.

Im also wondering if that means that across the universe, there are other trains to be found left dormant after the fall of akivili. To be honest I hope we get abit more about himeko, im wondering how she was able to fix up the train and perhaps it might lead to an explanation on the weird engine the express is said to have

Given how mysterious akivili's death is and the large gaps of knowledge we have related to the nameless, im guessing that we'll get bits and pieces throughout our journey until the big twist is revealed at the end

Is the journey the goal or the destination. If the journey itself is the goal it seems to be in line with what trailblazing is, but if the destination is more important, its sounds an awfully close to terminus and finality. I've often wondered if akivili reached their destined goal and just ended up becoming terminus

- 3:12 calling it breadcrumb is not really correct in context of the star track, it closer to a term call "desire path" but in Akivili and Astral Express case, they only need to go through it once and the path will become a "desire path" which become a safe route for anyone travel in space. The star track do fade away if Astral Express don't pass through it for a very long time so one of the reason why Himeko is retracing the old star track is to renew it again - On survey, i got Bob, while i think he cool and i like the result very much but i don't think i got right one that is close to my personality

I've always kinda thought of it that way, like points along a specific route that they can tap back into if the nameless want to. So as long as theyve been in a specific location any nameless can always revisit it though if it is closer in translation to desired path I wonder if that means that with each conductor the silver rail changes. Also does it mention specifically that the star track disappears over time? I just assumed that they persist as long as the path of trailblaze still exists and since the IPC and xianzhou alliance are said to use them i just assumed they were still around. It might be possible that certain routes are cutoff or not useable like when a stellaron appears for example like in jarilo-6 Who would you have rather gotten instead of bob? 😁

@@Maevix3142 - While in game they don't mention that star track can fade over time but it do mention that star track can be affect by external source for example, it was mention many star track was block by influence of stellaron disaster so i think it not a far fetch to assume it do fade away with enough time like how road in wood will be cover in grass if leave it alone long enough. Another reason why i think it can fade away in time coz they do mention that Xianzhou and IPC use remnants of star track system suggesting some of it was lost (mention in "Inquiry Into The Gods: The Sacrosancts") and the Astral Express did disappear for quite long before Himeko fix the train and have it back up running again - If i get to pick my result i would want to have Isee coz he sound cool but if we talk about who is closest to my personality it would be Capy coz i'm just a massive introvert tbh

My personality test for the anniversary gave me Granholm "The Youngster." While they weren't covered in this video, I'd say that they were an ideal navigator: they fulfilled the position in a rather interesting yet uneventful era, and met a peaceful, content end after it all.

That is also Himeko, she was the one who repaired the Express when it got stranded on her homeworld. The suitcase(her current weapon) was once a storage for the tools she used to repair the train. If it is not convincing enough, she also made some orbital lasers for self-defense?

What the first guy said. As of now there's so little members in astral express idk if they will increase it someday (probably it will) but right now each person in astral express takes 1 to 2 roles at a time. Like himeko taking as a navigator and mechanic. Dan heng as the guard and archiver.

You got more details about amundsen and grandholm from clockie annimation event, which unfortunately mist player skip reading due to event mechanic. Watchmaker join the expres when amundsen (Mr hat) was the navigator and become his apprentice. According to tbe cartoon amundsen become a bait for the swarm and killed in action (saving a planet). Amundsen will later replaced by grandholm (armchair boy) and travel to penacony liberating said planet where tiernam razalina and mikhail decided to stay. As parting gift grandholm give watchmaker amundsen hat, which later become MC harmony hat, as parting gift.

Its unclear actually, all it says is that the silver rail starts from pegana but im not sure if Akivili brought anyone with them. Its certainly possible 😁

Just posting to represent Bob, the only navigator listed here to actually die on duty instead of retiring. He has the entire Tousled Detective fictional series based on him, which makes his character likely a reference to Shunsaku Kudo(played by Yusaku Matsuda) from Detective Story who is the inspiration for the likes of Spike in Cowboy Bebop(so you know why Bob's story has him fake his death to run from a crime syndicate), Hidari Shotaro in Kamen Rider W and his surname is even used as Shinichi's family name in Detective Conan.

Look, this sounds insane, but what if Elio has some form of connection with Isee or is him? I know this is very unrealistic since the info we have about him is not reliable, but think about it They both have some form of connection with the Finality through being able to see or predict the future, there are theories that Elio was a former Astral Express member and or is the Trailblazer I don't know, I might be biased because Elio's one of my favourite characters
