Spot on man, “rule Britannia! Britannia, rules the waves!” 🫡🇬🇧

Interesting video - as you point out, everyone involved kind of knew the invasion would have been a lot of effort for not much real gain, and the impact of it being unsuccessful was probably much worse than not trying. Again, effective siege would probably have been a much easier route to get Britain back to the negotiating table. One “what if” you didn’t touch on was the Nazi nuclear programme - if that had been successful then London would have been a “great” target, much like Nagasaki and Hiroshima were, to prevent the huge anticipated cost associated with taking the Japanese islands.

An interesting take on the what ifs. You have to remember that Britain had already many plans in place for defence against invasion (from sea or air) since the mid 1930s and this changed and reacted to the way that the threat was perceived over time, from where the invasion would come from, and current events. The RAF monitored any build up of invasion forces over Europe at least once a day and could accurately predict well ahead of any invasion happening. There would be no surprise compared with the D day invasion, which was 2 years in the planning. Operation Sealion was just 3 months in the planning and hampered by infighting within the respective armed German forces and the lack of resources to carry it out.

You went on my big screen tonight (garage), my daughter's were intrigued of everything and asked me many of questions. Keep what you're doing Kris, only if you knew how many people you kept entertained through your videos, I would say you should be in the BBC crew, but you're better than that 😂
@Addictedtobleeps only the truth my good sir , you're a born entertainer and knowledge giver, never give up. Expand on your gift.

you are correct the answer is no as the German generals even concluded that operation sealion would have failed because they could not follow up any landings with supplies because they did not have enough shipping to support a landing of a sizable nature. Plus after working out via wargames (which they did a lot of) of all strategies they can conceive , they concluded a big fat no.

Nothing is impossible my friend. The Romans did it, the Saxons did it, the Vikings did it, the Norman's did it and in modern days the rubber boats are doing it.

Everyone except the dingy crew had vastly more ships and after we had the ships no one tried apart from the French round I think the 11th century where they did land and take a town I think but soon buggered off once armies headed there way I can’t remember exactly

Agree with you about how hard it would have been for the Germans, even if they had managed by some miracle to establish a beachhead; it would have required endless supplies and reinforcements which would have been impossible with the Royal Navy on the scene. What’s more, the British public would not have capitulated and Germany would have had to pour vast resources into the UK.

I totally agree with you Kris if the German’s did manage to make it on to British soil they would of been in a lot of trouble our grandparents were fearless one of my grandads got caught by the German’s while on a mission he ended up in a concentration camp I’ve still got trench art he made which is one of the petrol lighter’s he made from 20mm anti tank shells, Unfortunately these days our country has lost its balls British borders are open to anyone my grandparents would be livid and absolutely devastated at the current situation my dad has vented his feelings about this day and age he hates it and I honestly couldn’t publish his views because I/we would be in a lot of trouble

Absolutely right. The cliffs would have had 5,000 people with Lee Enfield rifles downloading .303 rounds at anything that moved, plus all the munitions from fighter aircraft raining down from above and the Royal Navy bombardments from either side. It would have been a 'Death Alley'. I loved the AI images, did you notice the tiny little smoke billowing freighter behind the Armada, and the guy with the disfigured face behind Adolf? Good show old boy! I like these new video themes whilst you can't get out and dig holes.

You are indeed correct sir. Loved your presentation, apart from the Mulberry Harbour turning into a pontoon bridge. Enjoyed the digressions too, well rambled sir ☺. By the way the 1970's rang, they want their car coat and vinyl gloves back😂❤

Very interesting video Kriss. However, if Sealion was enacted, I think it would have been a close run thing. After Dunkirk, we were not in a good place. Coupled with the U Boat stranglehold on supplies it could have gone either way. America prior to this was mainly isolationist. In order for a modern campaign to succeed, you must have air superiority. Thankfully, the RAF held fast, but that too was a very close run thing.
