When I was growing up a hooper meant someone you looked at that was killing people on the court with their offensive skills and talent. No one from what I remember classified a defensive person as a hooper. When you look at the Nick Youngs, the D Russells, James Hardens you say yoooo they hoopers. My biggest issue with ppl like Mccants is they allow 1 person to make their own definition and say yep that's it that's what it is no it's not.

A hooper to me is just someone who’s sole purpose is to go get buckets like a Lou Williams, Jamal Crawford, Jordan Poole. Then a basketball player would be someone with high iq that can play in a structured system like Lebron, Steph
@mrhim265
@mrhim265 Ай бұрын
Exactly, JC & Lou will could avg just as much as Steph with a similar team, but Steph will always contribute more to winning basketball bc his iq goes beyond buckets. JC might have a better chance than Lou just bc he does have high IQ but also his natural instinct is still to get a bucket, not necessarily all the other nuance of the game. From my understanding of what I’ve heard him say

Naw. A hooper is an unstoppable scorer. When someone says they can hoop just means they can play basketball. If someone asks if you want to hoop, it just means they just want to play basketball. It has nothing to do with anything else other than being able to be unstoppable while putting the ball in the basket! Jordan is a hooper, so is Lou Williams! So is Jamal Crawford! So is Kobe!

HERE is where when you play the jokester so often people (Brandon in this conversation) truly can't tell the difference and take you literal or don't take you (your perspective, your true intelligence) at all (seriously) - I think that's a shame and he's selling himself short, so in affect, a lot of other people do as well.
