I think part of the allure of what makes the NFL playoffs what they are is the one-and-done, true tournament style competition. Games to determine best 4 of 7 can be very exciting, but something about either win or go home, final score, no second chances makes the games more high stakes and anxiety driven. Hence why I think the NBA community seems to remember and love playoff series that go 7 games, that real Game 7 anxiety of anything happening

The greatest era in basketball was the 90s and early 2000s not only because MJ, Shaq and Kobe and others but because the NBA took pride in defense and not this soft ass European style of 3 point shooting every possession. Also most of the big national games were accessible on NBC every weekend with double and tripleheaders. How you expect people to watch the Finals when you got most of the significant games all over TNT and ESPN leading up to the Finals where everyone is cord cutting and can't follow who's doing what because the broadcasts are inconsistent and boring. With all due respect how do expect fans to take someone like Doris Burke seriously when she never played one NBA minute or playoff series???? She didn't even coach or play in the WNBA and I'm supposed to take her serious as as analyst???? Give me a damn break and that's only one gripe about what ESPN tries to insult the fans intelligence with.

Well you are right but the biggest part is that the nba is the only league that tells their fans that they are idiots and have believe a 4-6 loser in s a winner. The NBA main focus every year is a play in team or a team that doesn’t make the playoffs aka the lakers. Lebron is not comparable to Jordan and not even a top 5-10 player all time when it comes to winning and statical titles but somehow we are told he is after he fails every year. They keep telling us lies of how these players in a league that no one is watching is making record breaking contracts for having less skills than past players 😂 I’m surprised no one has exposed the fake contracts these players are receiving but then have to sit at a desk or coach after they retired from making tens of millions and hundreds of millions. It’s like I retire with pension, social security and have hundreds of thousands in in the bank but want to back to work 😂🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️ I mean they really have made dummies out the fans so they can over charge them

Adam Silver is just not a good producer, David Stern’s writing was fantastic even during down years for the league, all the stories were concise and strung together perfectly throughout the years, the pipeline from Russell and Wilt-The Big 3 in Miami made sense to any casual fan Nowadays everything is a jumbled mess, players keep switching teams the storylines are boring no one has flash or identity, he blew his load with the KD to GS story but that was all he had in his bag of tricks

The NBA went from an entertaining family past time to a messy soap opera, trade deadlines and locker room meltdowns can only be entertaining for so long, I think the biggest difference is that David Stern was a genuine basketball fan as slimy and evil as he was, Adam Silver just sees the league as a business to flip for profit

What you’re saying doesn’t make sense. If that’s the case then it means the NFL is rigged per possession and it’s not up to the players but the higher ups. Sports are a game of chances that are affected by the performance of the individual players within a team unit. What happened after the first half of the Super Bowl was not something that Goodell did.
