When the San Antonio Spurs took Rob Dillingham 8th overall I was excited. Mainly because Dillingham is a great guard to have next Victor Wembanyama. However his draft rights were traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for a 2030 pick swap, and 2031 first round pick. So while the Wemby/Dilly duo dream is dead, I am excited about Dillingham being in Minnesota. I think it’s a great situation for him to be in. And I’m very encouraged by what Minnesota can do with him in terms of his development in the short term, and fit in the long term. And I think in a few years we will look back and wonder how the NBA let Minnesota get a player like this.

Yeah you really got them good, that’s the Timberwolves championship legacy again showing its teeth. The Spurs wanted him really bad too but Minnesota offered the picks and the Spurs asked if it was a good deal, and the TimberBlazers said it was, so the Spurs accepted and the TimberBlazers did a high five and laughed. Then the Spurs knew they got totally robbed and talked about how bad they wanted the pick back, obviously the TimberBlazers started the “this isn’t a good draft” narrative all to pull off the robbery and now Herschel Walker is on the Timberwolves. All the talking heads were saying the Spurs did it bc the guy they wanted wasn’t available anymore and that it’s a weaker draft and the Spurs added more 1st round picks but that couldn’t be true, plus what are picks anyway, it’s not like they turn into players. Plus they tricked themselves after that ending up with a point guard out of Spain who likely won’t be coming over here for a few years so that’s another point guard they drafted and won’t have. It’s almost like they didn’t want them but that can’t be true since Minnesota robbed them so bad.

As a Spurs fan, I really wanted Dillingham😭😭 like, I’m genuinely still in denial that he was traded. In my head I’m hoping the Spurs where like “ bro, we’re gonna get you back in a couple years for now we need you to go train under a legend; Conley for a bit as that’s the perfect storm with him aging & Minnesota needing fresh legs at that spot and we don’t have anybody to mentor you at that spot, Godspeed secret agent Rob” 😭😭 no disrespect to Jones though

Rob Dillingham is going to really good but honestly the real steal of this particular draft was Terrance Shannon Jr. This where I wish DA Bulls had two 1st rd picks because with Matas Buzelis at PF and Terrace Shannon at SF. We could’ve let PWill walk. The Bulls future would’ve been real bright with Buzelis, Shannon, White Giddey. They didn’t but I’m happy for the Wolves. I’m sorry I questioned the Anthony Edward’s pick but it looks like the got special player in him. Like I stated earlier Dillingham is going to be a really good player but Shannon is the special talent out of the 2 of them.

Dillingham is the more overhyped player in years. The only reason why he's getting this hype is because of how terrible this draft is. In any other draft this guy's weaknesses would be fully exposed and you wouldn't be able to say he's going to be anything more than a small bench scorer.

Spurs didn't pick Dillingham, Wolves did. Seems once Salaün was off the board, they weren't interested by anyone else so they traded the pick. Dillingham was projected lower and lower over the last weeks, usually around 12-15, in a "weak draft". Maybe you should wonder why.

If Spurs had kept the pick, they would have gone for a wing like Buzelis, Cody or Knecht, but it seems they were not interested at all. What I'm saying about Dilly is true, he kept dropping over the last weeks, some mocks he was around 16-18. I think he could be interesting as a 6th man, but people expecting some kind of Kyrie are delusional imo. Wish you the best though ✌️

YAWWWN. For those who keep squawking about the Spurs trading Rob Dillingham in a WEAK draft class, for a future unprotected pick in 2031, and a protected pick in 2030, to a team who will not be good in those years, you clearly don’t understand the value of building a Championship Team for multiple decades like my Spurs do. The Spurs are a DYNASTY organization, not a “Two pump Chump” organization who is in a hurry to get to a SINGLE championship. We are building the future of the NBA.. and putting our sights on the 2025 Draft, the greatest draft since 2023, and the future drafts, when Victor Wembanyama is in his PRIME. When’s the last time your team won Multiple Championships in a single decade like the Spurs? That’s what our franchise is creating. This selection at #4 combined with building our future is a brilliant strategy in a game of Chess. Checkmate NBA. Yeah, we robbed YOU Minnesota. Rob Dillingham will be an average to good player sure, and probably a great fit for Ant Man a few years.. but the Spurs front office is the smartest in the NBA, and we setting ourselves up for Decades of Dynasty success. Enjoy your couple years Minnesota. You won’t have franchise players who bring multiple championships to your town. Good luck. 👍 raptorsrapture.com/posts/spurs-fleece-timberwolves-with-draft-pick-they-got-by-fleecing-raptors

Or the Spurs knew Dillingham wouldn't be all that special and decided to get value for him, bro has a good chance to become Bones Hyland 2.0 and be the worst defender in the NBA next season.

@@TerranovaBasketballStudy Well than maybe Rob has a small bench role in the leauge than, because being a better Bones Hyland doesnt mean much when he's basically out of the leauge. Do we really think a barely 6'1 gaurd weighing a generous 170 is really gonna tear up the leauge? Doubtful.

Rob potential 20 ppg similar to DBook coming off the bench ppl watching knew he was the best player on Kentucky and he went 11th-13th in the draft .. all those other teams must knew he wouldn’t become the best 2 guard in the league to your perspective of why the spurs passed on Dil?

As a Spurs fan, I can say that we likely wouldn’t have even picked Dillingham if they kept the pick.. his defense was bottom 1% in college and he’s massively undersized. Not exactly the type of player the Spurs are known for. They got a 6’5” defensive monster in Castle to be our future PG. If we kept the 8th pick we likely would’ve gotten a wing like Knecht or Cody Williams. Basically the Spurs got 2 future firsts for 1 (in a historically weak draft). The idea that the Spurs will even use these picks in 6 years instead of using them to trade for an All Star to team up with Wemby is hilarious. People are so shortsighted and watch a highlight reel of some guy and think he’s the next Allen Iverson 😂 I’m not saying Dillingham won’t be good, he very well could be, but you’re gambling that his offense will be good enough to make up for his non existent defense and that the Minnesota defense can cover his mistakes on that end and even then.. he’ll still always be a target for opposing teams in the playoffs like the Boston Celtics exposed the Mavericks defense this year. No one knows the future and I’m sure Dilly and Ant will be fun to watch, but we’ll have to see how it plays out.. it might not be as one sided of a trade as y’all think it is.

Terrenova, i like you but no. We have to disagree on this one, dillingham is the lightest player on the nba when he is drafted. He will be a prime target in the playoffs, i think he will be good but you guys love overreacting. He is not a generational offensive player that his offence will justify his downside.

IF THE SPURS THOUGHT HE WAS A BAD PLAYER, WHY DIDN'T THEY JUST PICK SOMEONE ELSE AT THE #8 PICK OVERALL? THIS IS RIGGING BEYOND ANY DOUBT. the piece the y-wolves needed the spurs just gifted them. this was a nba league decision. pathetic and a disgrace. i always say when vegas and a sport hooks up, that sport is going to shit. this kind of blatant rigging is expected nowadays with the illegitimate nba league. the spurs said, "we're good, we don't need his talent on our current roster, get us back in 5-6 years from now, ok". this is a joke, cant no1 say this was legit, show another trade in the history of the nba on draft night when a top 10 pick was traded for picks 5 years down the road. wouldn't all teams do that? to bad philly couldn't have offered the 2 picks five years down the road and made this trade. see this is clearly rigging, trying to nuild a top tier team for people to recognize and bet on. the nba is trash league after their partnership with vegas and gambling. why none of the big sports places aren't up in arms over this clear league rigging/fixing

ANT needs KARL & GOBERT traded for Picks & Cap space, Thr Timberwolves SHOULD HAVE DRAFTED DANTÊ From #OREGON , the dude was a massive oversight and will be a contender for Rookie of the Year, 6th man , DPOY and ALL NBA in the coming seasons for Houston. Hes everything we WANTED from KAT and Gobert , but he actually HAS , vs a Sorry and Soft , massively overrated GOBERT eho was NOT THE DPOY , he just had the most Blocks on the NBAs highest rated Defensive Team , KAT is a soft, Zesty, Cake Eating Scrub, who unlike ANT is NOT A KILLER , NOT RELIABLE, Cost the Wolves the FINALS & may be one of the most UNAWARE & Non-Factor "DTARS" in the NBA. Both are insufferable to watch as a Wolves Junkie and Fan, and I cannot believe after this last Playoffs , that thr Timberwolves think Running it Back with KAT & GOBERT will work? Knock Knock.... Timberwolves , Is anyone HOME? WHAT DID YOU MISS THAT MADE YOU FEEL LIKE PAYING EITHER IS A GOOD INVESTMENT NOW? THEY HAVE LITERALLY BROKEN THE BANK AND CAP FOR THE FORSEEABLE FUTURE ... and WE KNOW WHO THEY ARE and they both aint "IT" and they both are MASSIVELY overpaid and ovwr valued . I do not want olayers who are not 2-way and who are EXTREMELY LOW BASKETBALL I.Q. & court or game awareness. The very image of Gobert on Skates and KAT chucking up an INSUFFERABLE 3-32 heading into Game 4 , is everything you need to know about those 2 , So what they NEED is A KILLER IN THE PAINT not 2 MY LITTLE PONY , ZESTY RAINBOW CSRE BEARS in there doing NOTHING PRODUCTIVE. and then on top of it... You are putting BOTH ON THE PERIMETER TO DEFEND & RUN YOUR OFFENSE? GET IN THE PAINT. DEFEND THE RIM. LEAEN HOW TO PLAY FUNDAMENTAL HELPBDEFENSE AND CUTTING OFF THE LANES AND GET THE F@%$! IN FRONT OF SOMEONE WITH YOUR HANDS UP AND OUT OF THE COOKIE JAR I absolutely HATE both of these players as people and "peofessional Basketball Stars", one STARTED THE COVID CRISIS AND SHUT DOWN by being a Moldy, over rated, Dry, FRENCH CROISSANT & then you have KAT who is a literal FAKE PERSON , who is a FIVA, NERD, AND LISPY, HIGH VOICED, ZERO MASCULINE TRAITS AND ZERO KILLER INSTINCT "ALL STAR" who has NEVER ESTABLISHED ANYTHING , with the exception that we know that JIMMY BUTLER TOLD US ALL WE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT KAT & THIS CLASH OF CULTURES NOW when BUCKETS told thebworld EVERYTHING he framed it as the "Team" and Starters - which was WIGGINS (WHO IS SOFT AND HAD 1 GOOD YEAR AND DISSAPEARED) and KAT , who mirrored that, is not a Player you trust or know is going to kead - BECAUSE HE NEVER HAS. Ehy now is it people think KAT is not KAT, JUST BECAUSE ANT IS THERE NOW? KAT IS PUTTING ON HIS Clown Makeup again and trying to be a Chameleon and take on the whole vibe and Chsracter traits of ANT - which is fundamentally sociopathic A) and B) WE KNOW THE TRUTH , and I HAAAAAATE fake people , Fake People make this World a absolute trainwreck and is infuriating to deal with when you know WHO THEY ARE - WHILE THEY PRETEND TO BE SOMEONE ELSE ! Thr Timberwolves did not do enough to contend , they will lose 2nd round in the Playoffs next season , they will continue to sufder and will continue to waste ANTs now slow intro into his PRIME and HE WILL LEAVE if this continues ! Dillingham is excellent, I love it, but we need BODIES THAT INSTILLS FEAR IN THE PAIN AND AT THE RIM - its why they were slaughtered by Boston, SURE and Yes we do have a Man named NASTY NAS & 6TH MAN OF THE YEAR - IMAGINE : NAZ & DANTE vs GOBERT & RUDY ; ?? EITH THE ENTIRE CAP SOACE OPEN FOR 2 ELITE ROLE PLAYERS AT FORWARD ( Shooter and Banger) OR 1 JUGGERNAUT AT FORWARD !? Instead.... They Did NOTHING TO IMPROVE ANYTHING POST THIS OFFSEASON WHEN YOU SHOULD HAVE LEARNED LESSONS IN DEFEAT - AND THE WOLVES GM AND OWNERS apparently were busy at the Buffet line ?

So first all you can't just overgaul everything in one go. The Celtics did that for years until they decided to stick with what they have and after a few years they are champions. The wolves can probably run it back one more time (they will pay a hefty.price tag) and still trade KAT (at 29) if they want to. And lastly ANT, MAC, Naz Reid, NAW and now Rob are all under 25. There is time.
