I want to thank you for this truthful important message. Before I was saved I used to spend a lot of money on my clothes. I would spend 2 hours a day doing my makeup making sure everything matched . ( it never was revealing clothes but the purpose of the clothing was the attention I would get for having these amazing outfits) I looked great on the outside but I was so empty and lost on the inside. When I devoted my life to being a servant of Christ the Lord spoke to me and told me to dress in skirts and full coverage of shoulder’s .I have been doing that ever since. My number one job is to represent Christ and to spread the Gospel. How can I do that if people are asking me about where I get my clothes and complimenting my outfits. My inner beauty shines now because I am filled with his holiness and goodness not a heart of seeking approval and compliments. Thank you for this wonderful video . God Bless you and keep making videos about this topic that needs to be addressed.

I, as a woman, absolutely see how women are dressing provocative. Good message!!!!!! Do not follow the culture of showing your body to attract eyes. Dress respectful and nice. Men need to stop runnign around half naked at beaches. Men also need to be more modest like women need to. Why don't people ever seem to mention them? I dunno but I do know that I find it baffling. We all need to be responsible for our own dress, and our own thoughts like Jesus said to the disciples in the Sermon on the Mt. "Any man who looks on a woman with lust in his heart has commited adultery with her" yes he does tell women to dress modest in a dif book area of the Bible to not trip up our brothers so why can't that go for men too? Why not? I mean it is really hard to go to the beach without seeing men in almost nothing! So again if women need to be modest so do men! It's all tempting. I hope I didn't come off blunt just being honest, I have high functioining autism and Huntington's Disease which causes me to come off blunter than I mean to. This is said without malice or sarcasm.

Not all of us are meant to be married God's word tells me that in 1st Corinthian's 7! It tells you what marraige is for in God's eyes about avoiding burning in hell for your lusts. If you need sex then you need marraige. God's word tells you that it is good to be single if you can avoid sex. With God's help I can! I do my best to live seperate from the world as much as I can. Just like each person out there there are really tough times. I also tried to date but with High Functioning Austim and my terminal illness of Huntington's disease. It causes mental, physical, and emotional issues, my own mother was like a little baby by the time she passed away from HD. I can't be there for a husband and family the way that God calls me to be. So I would be selfish to force myself down a path I can't handle. I can't emotionally be the strong one like a wife needs to be, I can't be loving and selfless because I will need someone to help me as this disease progresses. I have peace now with God I prayed and I keep praying for his strength. I asked him to heal me but if he uses me the way that he used my mother's own weakness to show his strength then I would be honored. I asked for strengh, courage, grace and patience to keep going and to keep my eyes on him and with peace beyond understanding. My mother is a Chirstian she passed in 2018. She would say everyday "God is awesome!" And when you asked "How are you?" "AWESOME!" she loved God with all her heart and did not complain when life got harder for her, even when she almost died in 2010 she ended up with an ostomy bag. She used to make jokes and i asked her what to name it she said "Rose" with a big grin. She always had such an amazing sense of humor and strength that she definetly got from God. She had my father with her and had a familyi I just couldn't do that at 25 I was in and out of psych wards with massive suicidel idations and depression, they thought it was. 1 time a year I ended up in the hospital. In 2016 I snapped after a bad med set me off and ended up in a homeless shelter certain that I was not safe though I was! Through God's grace I got Mainecare and got to go to a dif Psycitrist dr. She said "Bipolar 2 wiht Mania" and took me off the poison meds I was on. It had set me off again and again for 10 years! I'm 42 now, my life is dif from other's who are my age. 5 and a half years ago God helped me to realize that I needed to walk away from dating etc, he showed me in the Bible and with much prayer to ask for understanding of what he wanted for me. I finally let go of the fantasy the world had for me and I realized that I didnt' need marraige to complete me! I needed to put my life in God's hands! I did that and with his strength I keep going! I am focused on him, and learninga bout myself along the way as a Christian. I leave my life in his hands and I know that I am unusal and that is ok! That there is nothign wrong with a different path. In the end my mother's testimony at her funeral ended up being used by God to lead her nephew to Jesus! It made it all worth it! God used her to bring so many to him! I mean wow! It's hard to explain without writing a bigger book. It's important to role wiht the lot that God gives you and find a blessing in God where other's may see a frightening path a head. Yes I will lose my own abilities like my art, and taking care of myself day to day; but with God there is hope especially in the darkness of life! Do not give up hope! I am happy that you are happy with your life. I pray that you and your family will be blessed. I ask for prayer for me and my family. I know that God's got each of us in His hands if we have faith!

This has been a blessing. I have never heard that text dealt with with such grace and understanding by a woman. Interestingly, this was not about marriage yet I am challenged as a husband based on this material, to steward my marriage with greater honour to God. I loved in particular the section about women's dress. I am part of a church that interprets that text in the wrong way, the fallout of that is preachers - pastors and laymen, who downplay the biblical command for believers and especially women to be modest. I cannot tell how many times I have been angered in my spirit when I hear these preachers acquiesce (rather ignorantly) actually to cultural depravity on women's adornment. Great presentation Mrs. Heck and may God use this material to transform men and women who listen. Soli Deo Gloria!

I have to disagree a bit. Our emotional nature leaves us more open and vulnerable spiritually than men. It was demonstrated as early as Genesis when Eve was deceived by satan in the garden. Yes, husbands should protect wives physically if the need arises but also spiritually as well since they are less likely to have spirits come after them IF they have a strong relationship with God and a strong, biblically sound foundation for that relationship. And again, look to Genesis, where Adam demonstrates what men should NOT do/allow.

At 26:22 Susan said it was unheard of for a Jewish woman to attend public worship. Matt 13:56 suggest women in the synagogue. Act 16:13-14 Lydia was a dealer of purple cloth and invited Paul and his group to her house. Later in Act 18:26, which Susan mentions later in her teaching, Apollos was in the synagogue teaching when Pricilla and Aquila heard him. I question that statement of Jewish women did not attend public worship.

Thank you for bringing the Scriptures to bear on this point. This unfortunately is a very common take among even more reformed circles. God can give women wisdom when to submit. We are individually responsible for our walk with God and consequences that could arise out of our actions when we follow anybody. Just because a husband is a husband does not mean he automatically knows what is best. A wife needs to be convinced in her own mind that a course of action is safe and right to follow t give her full agreement to it. God’s intent was a partnership and two becoming one flesh in more ways than just sexual. One day I hope that instead of teaching women submission, they teach our daughters that they have a brain and a will and if something is off they never agree just to be agreeing. Unfortunately I’ve not seen much of teaching a wife to think for herself. It’s all about giving over her will to another.

I agree that we must encourage modesty. I am dismayed by the disregard women in the church have for those struggling with pornography addictions and fidelity. However, we must not be unkind toward those who need to come to that understanding. Jesus loved the harlot as well as the faithful.

Good teaching. Bold teaching, in a culture hostile to God's holy word! In Gods eyes, He expects our conduct and character as His children, to reflect that of Jesus. Humble, meek and lowly in spirit. We will all fail every day but that should be EVERY believers' heart's desire.

Yes! You're so right. I am pretty conservative in my clothing anyway, but as my son has become a teenager, I have become more intentional on not dressing in a way that I wouldn't want any future girlfriend to dress. I can't encourage him to value modesty if I don't set that example.

I completely agree with everything you said. My issue is the way it makes all the single women feel like second class citizens in the kingdom because He has sovereignly chosen not to bless us with husbands and families even though they are the things we desire the most. We must all submit to the sovereignty of God in these matters. Being in submission to His sovereign will cannot possibly make me or any other single woman a second class citizen in His kingdom. The people in His kingdom need to learn how to reach out and embrace and include us single women in the circle of life in the church.

I'm glad this didn't disappear, wanted to listen to it. It sure is hard (at least for me?) to find decent clothes. I keep meaning to learn sewing so I can fix the wardrobe issue. I end up buying guy's clothes, because women's stuff looks ok on the hanger, but then it's thin, the cut is so low, things never fit right, and infamously no pockets. I swear, they design things for Barbie bodies☹️ Pray I am able to learn to sew! Thank you 🙏🥰

I find dresses on Amazon. My favorites so far are Pretty Garden maxi dresses. There are many of that variety but look through and there are many feminine and pretty dresses. Carefully read though, some have side suits and some are very neck. I usually get the rounded neck but need to switch to v neck now and a nursing tank top under because I'm due to deliver in the end of March. They have beautiful colors and patterns. I get many many compliments. One lady stopped me at Sam's club and thanked me for dressing as a women and said she wished she saw that more often. Now I don't dress like this for compliments but they came anyway. I also just got a sewing machine and hope to learn to sew. I'm pregnant with a little girl and want to teach her how to aquire decent feminine clothing.

Interesting question . It doesn’t say uncut hair - it says longhair. How long is long - how long is not? It speaks of hair as a covering . Some say Christ is our covering …..
@gramgrampmc.6937 Жыл бұрын
I don't see anywhere where it says "Christ is our covering". It says "long"...but what is long? 1 Corinth 11 answers this. I love these topics of modesty and such, I just would like all of the scriptures expounded on......but I think it may offend some. "But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head-it is the same as having her head shaved. 6 For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head."

My belief on this is to submit to authorities when that would not contradict The Word Of God. If a husband contradicts God, we should obey God, and trust Him. When this Godly disobedience is necessary we should approach it in a humble way, not in a rebellious way. Yielding in most areas and ways is best, but don’t be lead into sin, for companionship. You will feel divided within. When you are persuaded to compromise, more pressure to compromise will follow, drawing you further from Godliness, and righteous living.

Because christian women are not supposed to be unequally yoked with unbelievers,is a sin and God calls it an abomination.Also,light and darkness cant walk together.A woman submitted to God should nt submit nor comply or take part in anything that s ungodly,unjust or inmoral just to keep the ungodly man from leaving.

I work in a public place where families go to shop, and quite a few women were wearing shorts throughout the summer with their cheeks hanging out, almost thong like. I do not want to see that. It is extremely inappropriate with the underage boys and girls there. It should be considered indecent exposure because of underage kids being around. Edit: I did mention it to management, and apparently, it is OK.

Any insight on 1 Cor. 11:5 about the head covering?
@8784-l3b Жыл бұрын
...because the hair instead of a covering hath been given to her... In your own selves judge ye; is it seemly for a woman uncovered to pray to God? doth not even nature itself teach you, that if a man indeed have long hair, a dishonour it is to him? and a woman, if she have long hair, a glory it is to her, because the hair instead of a covering hath been given to her;... -Young's Literal Translation (YLT) Does even nature itself not teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him, but if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her? For her hair is given to her as a covering. -NASB A woman's long hair is the 'covering'. If a fabric covering is actually required, then all references to hair are totally irrelevant to the subject. It only can make sense if the long hair of a woman is the 'covering'. She should be covered, with her long hair. To have short hair, like a man, means that she is basically bald. Therefore uncovered.

Very useful. I have a question though: if a woman is not allowed to confront/stand up the pastor in the assembly, can she still do it in private, possible, having the elders as witness?
@dcarr-kr7hk Жыл бұрын
@MarkM-gt1vf... I have. My pastor (years ago) told someone that if I knew he was doing something wrong, he knew I would say something. You bet I would! (In private but I most certainly would.) He's my pastor but he is also my brother! His life, his salvation, his relationship would me means something to me. One of the reasons (I believe) sin is so prevalent in church leadership is because of the silence of others. Silence (in the face of sin) is not live! Obedience is.
