Have you heard of the Negritos of South East Asia? The Negritos are a collective of diverse ethnic groups that inhabit isolated areas of Southeast Asia and the Andaman Islands. In particular, in this video we will be discussing the Semang and Batek peoples of Malaysia, the Maniq people of Thailand and the Aeta and Ati of the Philippines.

The Aeta and Mamanwa people of the Philippines. They're not exactly Africans, not even Chinese nor Austronesian. They've been isolated genetically and geographically for far longer than you and I would expect. Over 60,000 years in fact. Meanwhile in mainland Africa, the continent developed more than 2,000 ethnic linguistic groups over the millennia. The Aeta, Mamanwa, and the rest of the Melanesian and Aboriginal Australian people became their own isolated cultures. The Aeta and Mamanwa people's closest relatives are actually the indigenous peoples that live throughout Melanesia and Australia such as Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Fiji, and Aboriginal Australians, and perhaps even the Andamanese, Sentinelese and Jarawa Islanders to the west of Indonesia. Before the last ice age 10,000 years ago, Sundaland was a continuous landmass between the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia and they were bridged together to Southeast Asia's Thailand and Cambodia. Separately, Sahul used to connect Papua New Guinea with Australia as a whole continent. The rising seas then separated Sundaland from mainland Southeast Asia and Sahul was split into Papua New Guinea and Australia, and became their own district groups in their respective regions and archipelago. These are the cultures we see now. The Aeta and Mamanwa people were many long ago until Austronesian ethnocultural groups such as Malay descended people started coming to these islands. Austronesian cultures are a little different from Aeta people and their relatives. They expanded far and wide creating what's now Taiwan, Micronesia, Polynesia, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, and even the Malagasy peoples of Madagascar. The Malagasy Islanders of Madagascar are truly unique. They are the real Black Asiatic peoples that you should be looking for because the Malagasy are actually intermixed with African people over 2,000 years ago. Their language is similar to ours in Southeast Asia, but the Malagasy also share just as many similarities with their close relatives that directly came from the African mainland. 🇲🇬 The Malagasy people have many ethnic groups now: Merina, Betsimisaraka, Betsileo, Tsimihety, Sakalava, Antandroy, Tanala, Antaimoro, Bara, Antanosy, Antaifasy, Sihanaka, Antakarana, Betanimena, Bezanozano, and Mahafaly. I highly recommend you to research more of them. Madagascar's Malagasy people have unique cultures that sets them apart from the rest of the Austronesian groups that live in Southeast Asia and the Pacific. 🇲🇬 Back to the Aeta and Mamanwa people and the Austronesian people, many ethnic groups developed and intermixed with one another over the generations. Alongside the Aeta and Mamanwa came the Igorot, Kalinga, Tagalog, Ilocano, Gaddang, Pampangan, Bikolano, Mangyan, Waray-Waray, Lumad, Bajau, and dozens more ethnic groups. Each ethnic language group occupies their own territory throughout the islands. Then the Spanish invaded our shores and they couldn't make sense of how dark skinned people were living here so they forcibly renamed the Aeta and Mamanwa people "negrito". The Spanish slave-traders' closest point of reference was their previous exploits on African people. Also they called other neighboring ethnic groups as "pintados" because many of our people once had thriving tattoo traditions. However that n word is actually a slur nowadays to the Aeta and Mamanwa. Remember that even their own people have many different dialects and traditions today in modern Philippines. That's also why in the mid 1500's the Spaniards decided to rename all our territories after a foreign king who never even set foot on our islands. That bastard's name was Philip II. He literally never saw our islands with his own eyes. But that name stuck, and now we're all lumped together as Filipinos. This is similar how Turtle Island/Abya Yala/Cēmānāhuac has been renamed the "Americas" or "Latin America" after colonization, and the Indigenous peoples and enslaved African peoples there have been falsely renamed "Indians", "Negros", "Mestizos", "Hispanics", "Latinos" or "Mullatos" and other derogatory terms. Us "Filipinos" have 7,000 islands, with dozens of ethnic-linguistic groups and thousands of years of human history. The Aeta and Mamanwa are the first among us. Most of the Aeta now live on the northern island of Luzon and the Mamanwa are scattered in the central and southern islands of Visayas and Mindanao. Sadly the current government still refuses to acknowledge their indigenous sovereignty and their homelands are not legally protected. Even the Igorot people who live in Luzon's highlands are recently being threatened and killed by Canadian mining companies.

My father is Aeta/Negrito. Haplogroup D which can be dated back to the first movements out of Africa. The Negrito, Ainu(Japan) and Sentinelese(Sentinel Island) all carry this same father lineage! 🙏🏾✊🏾🙌🏾

Freedom Is Mine Official The Negrito dna can apparently still be found in, very very very small amounts however, in what is current day Nigeria! The face of Africa has changed a lot, especially with movements like the Great Bantu Expansion. There was a very small research on it which you can actually find online! Respect and thank you for shedding light on our humble peoples! 🙏🏾❤️

Shelton English I wouldn’t doubt that for a second. Mainland Asia has been heavily “sinicized” by dominant Chinese ethnicities like the Han for a VERY LONG TIME. I’m obviously not ABSOLUTELY sure cause I’m not an expert and I’ve only researched really my fathers lineage BUT considering how genetically diverse Africa is TODAY...wouldn’t really doubt that one bit.

@Shelton English It's because they live in a harsh cold climate longer than the Chinese or Japanese even Korean, so of course they will lose their melanin.

They aren't really related, but evolved similar appearances due to the environment, such as darker skin and curlier hair. They were the original inhabitants of the region that most likely came from some for the first expansions from out of Africa. Then after the Austronesian Expansion from Taiwan thousands of years ago they were assimilated and sometimes discriminated against. The original inhabitants of the region were the Negrito, Papuans, and Melanasians.

Hi! I’m of the indigenous Karen ethnicity of Southern Myanmar and Thailand. I read a primary source with picture proof and it showed that the Karens mixed with the Negritos. Before I knew of this, I always wondered how some Karen babies had curly hair and darker skin but this answered my questions.

Aetas are the original or first Filipinos. Some of us became brown because of intermarriage from the trades of other Asian countries such as China, India and etc. Then colonized by Spain, America and Japan then those who seek asylum Jews, Vietnamize, Koreans and many other people who migrated to our country.

Austro-asiatic people are one of the very first people to walk over Asia... Now found as various Munda and Khasi-khumuic tribes of eastern India, various Khmer tribes of South East Asia and Mon tribes of Andaman and Nicobar islands of India... Vietnamese and Combodian are two of the only austro-asiatic languages that enjoy national language status... So yes, Vietnam has black people... Ask around who built the Angkor wat temple... legend has it that black people built it just the same as the Munda tribal folklore talks about the Indus valley civilization as something that they built... Specifically the tribes of Munda, Santhal and Ho...

i dont think sakai isnt considered a slave in thailand. we give them equal respect to them. we treat them like thais and they are considered thais and their habitants are preserved as the santuary of Sakai tribe that have been preserved and not disturbed by outsiders like the santelete group but sakai isnt that savage like the santelete. they can communicate in thai and they prefer to live with their own kinds and in their traditional way of Sakai life.

@Rhey Deocares Pacific Islanders are an admixture of Australoid and Austronesian whose origins derive from south-east Asia. I find it completely atrocious that you'd associate with "Oceanian" or "Pacific Islander" when those set of people came from yours, not the other way around. Know your stuff bud.

The malays of Malaysia originate from these people. Their physical appearance has since changed to not look like black people anymore due to interbreeding with other ethnicities particularly the Chinese. They are encouraged to do so by their own communities because they are ashamed to be black.
