(HI Bjo!!!).... I met her first at Equicon '76 at LAX, and then later sat on a plane next to her from Seattle (a convention) to Burbank in 1983; when Gene stopped by our seats on the plane to say hello. Not enough words to thank them for their hard work for ST Fandom! Thank you John and Bjo! (I wrote the "Star Fleet Assembly Manuals" for the AMT model kits). :)

Hi, Paul! Gosh, Equicon was a long time ago, but we still have fond memories of it, and of the many nifty people we met there. We don't put models together so have never seen your manuals. If there is someplace to download one, we'd like to read it.

@@Dyemavin I met you back in 83' at the Planetfest, that centered around the Voyager probe. Remember that? Could have been the same convention mentioned by Paul even. Carl Sagan was there, John Williams did a mini concert, etc. I was part of the Huntington Beach High School Science Fiction Club (just graduated then). There were two of us, ehh another guy I completely forget his name now, that knew you from other conventions or something. I was the tall blond kid with glasses, if by small chance you remember me. I will never forget I drove your daughter who was about the same age at the time (around 17 or 18) across the street to where you guys were staying in the evening and she sort of freaked for some reason. I must have came off like a creep, but I was a gentleman trust me. I met Gene Roddenberry there. Funny, I told him I was in line anyhow and bought his Coke for him (yea I was starstruck). I was sort of like that kid in the mean Joe Greene Coke commercial of the day (except Gene didn't throw a sweaty jersey shirt at me in return thankfully). Met Nichelle Nichols there too et al. And I'm Kevin not "Joe"; so much for anonymity..

Very nice. One problem though. Matt Jefferies said that they SPECIFICALLY used smoked glass on all of the back instrument panels to prevent light reflection and now I can see why! ;)

On this bridge the screens are computer monitors. Its one of a few upgrades we made over the original design. We are always improving the sets and the bridge lighting will be updated as well to remove any reflections. We also had all the house lights on to shoot the interview. Tinted or smoked glass would not have made difference in this situation. Thanks for watching!
