That 12db peak at 120hz is most likely from front wall interaction. I had that exact same bump in my old studio and was able to fix it with the a 100mm thick panel and a little bit of DSP.

Ahhh so removing the back panels i did worse 😅 but i kinda felt an improvement in lower frequences..not sure if that was just placebo effect 🥹

@@distillednoise bringing the speakers closer to the wall probably did help and might have pushed that peak to a slightly higher frequency

Nice job. Maybe another recommendation: Fix the position of your mic clipper so it does not interact with your jacket and maybe also use that mic or even your studio mic during recording from you smartphone, as built in mics in smartphones often have an anoying hiss.

Yes man thanks, i realized the clip mic was hitting in my jacket only in post production. If you see my other videos usually the audio is better :)

Bass traps in the corner don't make much of a difference. „Huge” devices with high absorption capacity are needed to reduce the standing wave effect and influence the reproduction of low tones. Only screens that reduce high tone reflections do something. This is why speaker positioning is crucial. Free REW program is good for acoustic measurements.. profesional tool, I recommend to trying it. Measurement takes a moment, so you can move the speakers and observe changes. After finding the optimal position you can use correction software in daw. Btw. only monitors with bass reflex on the front can be set at the wall.

I Subscribe to everything you say!! I tried REW in the past but didn’t think of using it for this latest adjustment. Thanks for the tip

Very helpful video...can you let us know why you gone for focal studio monitor because there lots of brands like yamaha, adam audio etc. This will help us to buy value for money

I wanted to upgrade from my krk and these seemed a good one. The monitors you mentioned all have entry levels models. Also Focal has. But the model I own is a pro model, so definitely one step further in terms of sound quality but absolutely not necessary if first you don’t treat your room right!
