The 1996 version of Romeo and Juliet is so crazy aesthetically pleasing. I honestly can’t even describe how much I love that movie! Cause everyone knows this story, everyone knows what is gonna happen, but they still manage to make me cry every time. When I was younger I kind of hated the fact that they pretty much modernized everything, but kept the original Shakespearean dialogue, mainly because English is not my first language and I had a really hard time not necessarily understanding it, but understanding it and simultaneously catch the feelings I thought I was supposed to feel, but I‘ve really grown to like that about it. And don’t even get me started on the kind of west coast, 80s, beachy, Mafia kind of vibe. Everything is beautiful and everything hurts😅
