@Brian Kent Pirrie Rockbiter also looks different compared to the first two films where on this film he's more skinnier. I only wonder why Attreyu is not on this film since he was a main character on the first two films. (Engywook and Urgl weren't main characters being in only one scene on the first film but somehow they were on this film).

Falcor 1 and 2 were completely deteriorated beyond restore by the time the 3rd film was made in 1993. This was mostly due to neglect (sad and creepy.) Falcor from the original film literally rotted and collapsed on itself and was split in two for electrical safety reasons. One of the halves mysteriously went missing and was never found. It was suspected that it was used to build this model #3 though nothing has ever been proven or confirmed.

I somewhat agree; Falcor's introduction to this installment pulled me out completely, but only temporarily. Then, the large rock mountain people. Their designs are nothing like the originals. However, the actors/actresses chosen are well chosen for this particular storyline. They all do a great job playing their characters. I just feel the writers lacked the knowledge of what was valuable from the original. So we have a movie that could have been way better had certain elements from the original were not lost. Overall, I still enjoyed it for what it was.

Also the writer of the beloved book was not apart of this installment. Sadly, the producers thought they knew better about Fantasia than the author. 😢 "We own all rights to the title now. Ende had certain rights on the previous two movies. He had a lot of control on Wolfgang Petersen's The NeverEnding Story. On George Miller's THE NEXT CHAPTER, it was more along the lines of we had to show him what we were doing at all times and then he'd give us his opinion. +Kylo Ren in the original script, Falkor was still kinda smart, Atreyu was in it, and the empress explained why Bastian couldn't use Aurynn to wish the fantasias back: it couldn't teleport more than one person in separate locations.

***** But here's what I CAN do: EMPRESS (O.S.) No Bastian. Even the power of the AURNY can't put two beings in two places at the same time. You must find them, get them all together and wish them back to Fantasia BEFORE you return the boo to the keeper or they'll be lost forever! It doesn't make much sense, but at least they WANTED to give a reason why BAstian couldn't wish them back other than simply, "No." Also, if you're wondering where Atreyu ended up idue to the Wish Overload, the answer is Las Vegas. No idea why though...at least he was the only character who was more or less the same as in the first two films.

One more thing (yes, there are so many things wrong with this movie): the Falcor I know would be the one who encourages the others and tells them to not give up, facing each challenge with a hearty laugh. Here, he's a nervous pessimist who needs to be encouraged himself. Not even lampshading it would justify it!

I wonder where Attreyu is since the last time he was seen on the second film was when him and Falcor were saying goodbye and Good Luck to Bastian as Bastian was leaving "The Neverending Story" book to go home. (Maybe the person who auditioned for Attreyu had to quit and the director couldn't find a replacement and/or nobody auditioned for the role of Attreyu so the director had to adjust the script to get Attreyu's lines out of the movie).
