Frank, you forgot to mention. the first buckle strap may be in the same location, but it is a new design, in particular moves the buckle itself away from where it gets bashed. I do get issues with my first buckle coming undone, hope this solves this

Hi @markthomasson5077 You are right Mark, We didn't mention this in the video but do in the blog, which has more detail than the video: www.telemark-pyrenees.com/scarpa-2025-tx-pro-test-report The 1st buckle is reversed with the buckle on top of the boot and the tooth catch mounted on the outside of the boot, just above the NTN 2nd heel. We found we needed to close the 1st buckle pretty tight to avoid it coming undone, but otherwise we didn't see any issues.

I’d like to know the difference between skiing it in the Meidjo and in a toebox binding like the Outlaw X. And what about the Rottefella toe box? The stiff mid and rear in combination with a narrower toebox might be the reason some regard it as too stiff despite soft bellows. If the boot feels great in Meidjos but restricted and stiff in Freerides it’s not for me. We tested the new boots with the Outlaw X and Meidjo bindings, the two most advanced and most popular bindings. We didn't notice any significant differences in boot behaviour or performance depending upon binding model. In general we found we could achieve better or equal performance with lower binding spring settings than with the older boots, whichever bindings we were using.

Cuff rotation. Note the increase is mainly rearwards. When skinning I don’t find that a particular issue with the current ones. My theory is that AT boots need that as they don’t have the bellows, so you need an unnatural gait

Hi @markthomasson5077 Cuff Rotation : We get used to what we have. We've toured with the old TX Pros since 2007 and they seemed fine - until we tried something better. Once you've tried the latest AT boots then the older TX Pros feel like we're skinning with umbrella stands on our feet 🤣. You're right that most of the increase is to the rear, but this does allow a longer glide and stride, while the bellow flex certainly helps when flexing the leg forwards.

And for those with wider feet? Struggle with a 102mm last. I managed to get my old TX Pros blown by a guy in Austria as by the end of the day I was in a world of pain. Can the new ones be blown? Anybody done this yet?

Blowing telemark boots is tricky particularly when it comes to the below area where plastics are of different nature, densities, thickness etc.. Bootfitters are often reluctant to do it with reason. Now if you trust your guy in Austria and you really want the new TX pro....?

@ I know it’s difficult and I welcome the fact that Scarpa have produced a new boot but for the hobbits among us reducing the width of the last pretty much means that we can’t use them. At least with wider lasts people had options. And buying a new boot in the UK and flying to Austria to get them blown isn’t much of an option.

Have been barefoot for years now, and cannot get my head around why they would make it narrower. In a Tele stance your rear foot is splayed like a fan.

Not sure how or why a softer bellow and a stiffer cuff combine for a smooth flex. The older boot was already to soft

Hi @GEOKID100 Yes, it's counterintuitive that a relatively soft bellows and stiff cuff can work well together, but they do. You need to try them to see how they work together.

@@franckalary2014 especially in touring/ soft snow eh? skier input with that combo vs boot leverage. Winner! I had the TX comp and TX pro, it was the upper cuff softness in the pro before which reduced its performance. So a stiffer upper cuff on the new Pro should be perfect!

Attendre 15 ans pour gagner 200grs et avoir une chaussure à 1,545G quand une scarpa F1 de base fait 1145g, c'est décevant... Pas d'avancée sur la fixation ski de rando avec pin avant et arrière pour avoir une paire utilisable TK ou rando selon le terrain.. Y a pas de revolution.

Sans doute pas une révolution mais une grosse évolution bienvenue. Pour ma part j'avais aussi des doutes mais pour avoir testé les prototypes la saison dernière j'ai pu constater qu'en dehors du gain de poids la chaussure avait sérieusement gagné en efficacité: flex plus ferme et progressif , meilleure rigidité latérale et surtout un mode rando avec beaucoup plus d'amplitude de mouvement à la montée (jusque la je skiais avec des Crispi Shiver en telemark ,des F1 de base pour la rando ou des Quattro XT pour les grosses conditions). En ce qui concerne la compatibilité avec une talonnière arrière, pour moi c'est superflu ... mais c'est un avis personnel.
