It’s an 8 speed auto. And the stop start activates depending on brake pressure.

Still can’t cop that boot space, understand they need to put the battery somewhere but geez seems like the boots alot smaller with that 3rd row seat

The mild hybrid Fortuner it's on its way to Australia, and as far as I know they don't reduce cargo space, they found a more discrete place to put it, it's a pity they didn't find a better solution for the Prado.

In 7:55 you can see the EGR cooler, so it's confirmed that this little mate in Australia has all the ECO combo: EGR+DOC+DPF+SCR+mild hybrid, too much tech, maybe less reliability. EGR reduces NOx and the SCR with the adblue converts the NOx to nitrogen and water vapour.

Unfortunately this is what nanny sate regulation has done to landcruisers. The bonnets are all oversized and plastic for pedestrian safety, can't imagine what the hybrid start stop system will do to DPF reliability...

Check the computers in the engine bay. Middle plug allows water to drip down the exposed wires into the plug. No rubber or silicon seals to stop water dripping down the wires into the plug then frying the computer
