Imagine if one were to refer to Stuttgart as the the city in southern Germany famous for being headquarters of automaker Mercedes-Benz. Or a photo of the skyline of Stuttgart with any reference to Porsche deleted. Would they film this commercial in Berlin and remove the Brandenburg Gate or the Reichstag Building? Would they film the 911 driving in front of the Hohenzollern Bridge in Cologne and remove the Cologne Cathedral? Would they Photoshop out the Marienplatz or the Nymphenburg Palace in Munich? The Hauptbahnhof in Frankfurt? This was a choice. A choice to placate a small group at the expense of the cultural identity of Lisbon. They thought nobody would notice because it was such a brief shot in the video. And when they were exposed, they weren't even 100% honest about what they did. They didn't simply remove a landmark. They jumped on the bandwagon to attack symbols of the largest religion in Christianity, the largest religion in Stuttgart and in Germany. Why would an iconic brand that represents a nation turn their back on the largest religious segment in the county? To make a political statement.

Honestly its beyond me why the guy in charge of the Production of this excellent video and the Porsche CEO( who have seen the video before giving thumbs up for the release of the same) did remove intentionally such a Lisbon Landmark has the Statue of Our Lord Jesus Christ. This is a great example of why inclusiveness and favoring secularism don't ever work out regarding creative decision making, especially in media. It has exactly the opposite effect and will cause more exposure for the religion that you try to filter out. Audi is consistent + improves as years go on. Mercedes just seems passé as a luxury brand, like it belongs to last century, it is an imperial car
