The car they used is a Carrera T, which to many is viewed as the best 992 911 for spirited road driving (except for the S/T that is practically impossible to acquire.) When you see the roads driven in this video, it was a really good choice.

Feel free to correct me if I am wrong ladies and gentlemen. But I was told that buying/owning a Porsche in Australia or New Zealand has become astronomically expensive. Apparently you are taxed into oblivion when it comes to certain makes and models. Any residents care to clarify? Hey Bert, Australia has a luxury car tax if that's what you're referreing to. In New Zealand we dont. For comparison, a near new Aventador S is around $700k NZD. In Australia, that's near $900k (We have near parity with the AUD for comparison's sake)

You're looking at about 300K NZD for a well specced 992 Carrera T, or 200K for a similarly well specced 718 Cayman GTS 4.0, which is bang for buck a better car for our narrow twisty roads. I picked up mine used with less than 5K km on the clock for substantially less than that.

Tax is a constant percentage across all cars, so no, there is no additional tax for certain makes and models. Dealer margins and freight tend to have a fairly large impact, though.

Video needs to be edited with half the scenes out. Less is more. Longer stretch of a view of the car is more. It looks more like a tourist commercial for the country, not the car. Song is nice, but it needs to fade away to just the car sound after a while.

Day 911 of asking Porsche for a car

The 911 was up until the 964 pretty slow. After the 997 Mk1 it lost its engine maker and steering and was built more into a GT than a sportscar. The 911 really only had a good 20 years before deflating into the basic, copy paste, business segment. The 911 died for me and this is a tribute version.

For anyone into Porsche stay away from Hennessy Porsche in Alpharetta. I have had a really bad experience form them. They don't care about their customers and they don't care about the work their mechanics do. drop almost 8k getting some work done with them and the car is no better. They even over filled the tranny and clouds of blue oil smoke came out from under my car as I drove it because the tranny spat out the overfill all over the underside of my car and onto my exhaust. They bled my brakes and gave the car back with a spongy pedal that you have to pump to get pressure and I had them do a four wheel alignment, the car does not drive straight. Utter cowboys. They are utterly useless and only care about the money spent. Not you or your car. They are about the worst dealership I have ever used Porsche or not. STAY AWAY FROM HENNESSY PORSCHE IN ALPHARETTA GEORGIA.

Great heritage and well-built cars but by far the worst service I have ever received from any brand and I have bought and driven cars on two continents and in five countries so far. When purchasing a Porsche, you pay through the nose for just about everything but at least you know that you are getting good quality and resale value in return. But Porsche's dealer network is a complete disgrace. Whatever money you spend - and you are spending a lot - Porsche dealerships always treat their customers like well-off idiots willing to put up with almost anything just to be seen driving their cars. Such a disappointment...

@@j29maniac And I am happy for you that apparently you have found a good one but after the experiences that I have had with several of them in five countries over the last decade, I can easily say that the good ones are the exception, not the bad ones. Porsche Stuttgart is well aware of this problem but can't or won't do anything about it. You can admire the brand but all that glitters is not gold in these Porsche commercials on KZbin.
