When he isn't reviewing movies on BooTube (and violently destroying the ones he doesn't care for), Uncle Bobsheaux is creating short films with his nieces and nephews in the leading roles. It's a good thing he has an online presence, too. He's tried the film festival circuit, but all of his movies get turned down because they're mistaken for snuff films.

I would be Red Devil MacDermot, the most feared pirate of the seas and distant cousin of Morticia. I would travel the world looking for adventure and treasure...and ghosts! It's a peculiar hobby of mine, but I collect ghosts! I have a special incantation that allows me to tether them to an object that I take on my ship. Once every five years or so, I come back to the mainland and replenish the ghost supply at the homes of all of my relatives (Frumps and Addamses) in return for their hospitality for myself and my crew. We travel around and party with my kooky kinfolk until it's time to head back out to the high seas!

I think the challenge is two-fold: First, the premise of the Addams' upside-down way of life (everything grim is wonderful, everything cute is terrible) can get repetitive without really creative writers able to bring new scenarios and jokes that work with the premise, and take it beyond a mere gimmick. Second, the original Addams Family served as an elbow in the ribs of the Norman Rockwell version of the nuclear family. Now that Goth no longer has the shock value it used to, and edginess in general has become mainstream, it's that much harder to keep the Addams Family relevant while staying true to its roots.

To Raven: If you love all things small, cute, and fluffy; I recommend the latest My Little Pony G5 movie, "A New Generation." Don't threat, there's less pink frou-frou stuff from G3, and more like G4. And there's plenty of adorable small round fluffy animals in it, especially a flying Pomeranian named Cloudpuff & a tribe of bunnies that interact with the new male pony Hitch.

If there's one thing I don't care for, it's the usage of the word "new" in the title. That pretty much goes to any property (Scooby Doo, Winnie the Pooh, Super Mario Bros, just to name a few), because if there's one fact that cannot be denied, it's that *nothing* stays "new" forever. Eventually, that "new" thing is going to be considered old and outdated, just like the "old" thing.

So I had an interesting idea on how to handle the MacAddams episode. What if, and hear me out, every so many years two branches of the Addams family are picked at random to have a week long feud? You know a way to get some issues with the extended family out while similatiously making sure you get to keep up with each other. Now obviously since they are still Addams they don't try to actually HURT each other, but again being Addams this leads to various things that should be seen as pretty dangerous more or less being written off like it's nothing. I don't know, just something I thought. Might make an interesting idea. Certainly better than the episode. Obviously cut the whole gold thing

In all fairness, I think only the first movie mentioned Fester being a lady’s man. Cause he was a nervous wreck when it came to wooing Debbie. Or that Gomez was serious about about Fester being a lady’s man in the original movie. I mean you can hear it in Gomez’s voice, he was remorseful when watching the old home movies, and he was talking about how he stole the twins from Fester because he was jealous, not because he loved them

This show is so underrated. Yeah it may be a product of its time thanks to the production style being unapologetically 90s commercial television, the cast was really terrific. I remember catching this series on "Fox Family" back in the day (the Pre-Freeform days), and I remember liking it as kid. I even found some episodes here on KZbin ever since you brought it up in your "Addams Family Reunion" review. While I'll admit, this revival didn't age as well as the old TV series, which I actually binged on DVD in 2020 while under a temporary lockdown and really loved it, but that's not to say that "The New Addams Family" didn't have its merits. One episode I particularly enjoyed was "Morticia The Playwright", a loose remake of the episode "Morticia The Writer", except instead of a book, Morticia decided to write a school play, a really messed up retelling of "Hansel and Gretel" which happened to feature Lurch playing a psychotic Lumberjack going all Leatherface with chainsaw, minus people dying though. lol Another thing I've noticed while revisiting this series was the different musical scores, the one I watched on "Fox Family" actually included a variation of Vic Mizzy's iconic theme while the Canadian channel this show aired on had a completely different musical score. Personally I prefer the "Fox Family" musical score, since it included the Vic Mizzy theme, even though it wasn't the intro. Great episode.
@Amy-yq4lk3 жыл бұрын
I just watched the "Morticia the Writer" episode the other day, and I couldn't help but think the whole time that even though her writing would never be accepted as schoolchildren's literature, she would have a not-insignificant audience that adored her "unique, subversive horror" stories if she slapped them on a blog somewhere.

I always wanted to see an adaptation of the Addams Family done by Tim Burton and when I heard he was making it a tv show I got more excited. As for the cast, I'm kind of mixed with it. Do you know who'd make a great Gomez for a Tim Burton Addams Family? JOHNNY DEPP! Seriously his personality would definitely fit Gomez so extraordinarily well. And yes I am aware that he and Eva Green were fan-picked choices and I'll admit both of them would be perfect for those roles. But of course with the Amber Heard situation I know Depp has been going through a lot. I just really hope he returns back to the screens sometime. #justice
