Hadn't heard of this til recently, & never watched Flash Gordon before this. I like the art. Some wild alien designs. I liked egular life for Flash. Quite the trip into a black hole. Good thing they had some inside help. 🙂 Tough to cut off the way home. Solid ep.

Thank you so much for this!!! I copied these to video when it was on TV years ago, then tried video to DVD, but it didn't work. Now I can watch it again!!! I was able to recently buy Defenders Of The Earth but and still on the look out for another series. Have you guys heard of Invasion America?

This show had some good premises. I’d like to see a reboot kind of like what they did for Netflix He-Man show. Same as the Defenders and a few other shows (Gargoyles, Darkwing Duck, Street Sharks, etc).

correction to your title ... THIS IS NOT "The NEW Adventures of Flash Gordon" ... that was a Saturday morning cartoon that ran for 2 season, from 1979 to 1980 .... THIS series was simply called "Flash Gordon" and it aired for 1 season - 1996 .... Flash Gordon also appeared in a different Saturday cartoon - "Defenders of Earth" (1986) with other King Features heroes ... the Phantom, Mandrake the Magician and lasted for 1 season (65 episodes) > there was the animated movie "Flash Gordon: The Greatest Adventure of All" (1981) (NEVER released in the USA) > there was also a live-action movie made in 1980 called "Flash Gordon" (featuring the music of Queen) > Canada released it own live-action tv show "Flash Gordon" (2006 - 2007) (1 season - 22 episodes) > there was a live-action tv show (1954-1955) called "Flash Gordon" shot mostly in Germany and it lasted for 39 episodes > there were 3 film serials made during the 1930's (all starring Buster Crabbe) ... 1936 - Flash Gordon (still copyrighted material) ... 1938 - Flash Gordon Trip to Mars (public domain) ... 1940 - Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe (public domain) then there was the King Features comic strip "Flash Gordon" (written and drawn by about 20 different artists over the years) ... the strip ran in hundreds of newspapers across the globe from 1934 - 2003 King Features was inspired by and created to compete with the popular "Buck Rogers" comic strip ... at first they wanted to procure the rights to Edgar Rice Burroughs "John Carter of Mars" (Burroughs being the man who created Tarzan) ... The original Flash was a great all around athlete. But this one is just a kid, and it makes no sense why this kid would be put in this situation. And the science seems very bad.

The Flash refers to an Earthbound (normally) Superhero with superspeed, and almost always some sort of connection to something called the "Speed force." under normal rules of DC Canon, 3 different characters have held the mantle of "The Flash," Barry Allen, Wally West, and Bart Allen. Flash Gordon, was originally a comic strip character in the same vein as "Buck Rogers," and was deliberately designed in order to tap into the 1930's market for space fantasy. His character earned the nickname "flash" for his talent at sports. (Not unlike Flash Thompson of the Spider-man mythos).

They can't make Ming an East Asian anymore because it's race baiting. But then again, his bigoted features are still present in this iteration, such as his arched eyebrows, his pointed teeth, long fingernails, skullcap and purple robes. I prefer the 2007 Ming.
