I just got a Alvarez grand auditorium for Christmas. I had been finding any excuse to go to the local music store cause 2 months earlier i went in to get string and, boom, there it was. Hanging on the wall. 2 of the nicest looking guitars I think i ever seen. But one of them was even nicer than the other. (The store is a licensed dealer for Alvarez, so they have quite the selection) It was love at first sight. The look alone was amazing. But then i finally got the courage to pick it up, and my goodness. The tone was unbelievable. Actually, I thought my ears were playing tricks. So i strummed again. The tone , is so rich and warm. The sustainability is unbelievable. It just keeps going. I went and picked up my wife and went back to the store to show it to her. Then I spent 2 months going back every chance i had to play it. I wanted it bad. But because of the price I didn't think i was going to get it. Not just the price though. The other ecen bigger problem was, i hadn't played in a few years cause of arthritis in my hands. Its bad. Got to a point that I couldn't play but a few seconds without hands hurting and swelling up. Couldn't make a clean chord anymore, so I stopped playing. Heres the amazing thing. This guitar didn't hurt my hands. Bless my wife's heart. One day her and I went grocery shopping and as we was headed home, she asked if i wanted to stop and see the guitar. Course I said yes. She had put that guitar on layaway. I spent 2 months playing a guitar that she was buying for me, and i didn't know. And the owner of tge store didn't let on that it was happening either lol This is the 4th Alvarez I've had over the course of 45 years playing music. Ive never had one sound so good. Thank you Alvarez for the care and quality you put into these amazing guitars. If you hadn't taken the time and care that you do, i still wouldn't be playing. Thank my wonderful wife for this gift. 29 years together now, and it just gets better. Also, thanks to the store owner for having a good poker face and playing along with her secret lol Sorry. I know its a long story. But, it's worth telling everyone. Seriously, i have horrible arthritis and couldn't play. But thank god (and Alvarez) I can play again. Alvarez you can use my story. Its true and I have medical records to show. 👍👍

@AlvarezGuitarsOfficial Thank you for responding. I have sent my info to you under the "contact us" on the Alvarez page. I appreciate your kind words and look forward to hearing from you again. I also look forward to being able to play this amazing instrument again for a long time to come. I've been looking at a 8 string baritone Alvarez. I had never seen or heard one before. It is a little different sounding, but it is great. And I was able to play it also without pain in my hands. I know it is the craftsmanship that you put into your guitars that makes it possible for me to play again. Cause I've tried playing other guitars and still get cramps and swelling. Thank you again.

@LegsON Жыл бұрын
Guys, ope tuning machines are a killer choice. I hope more acoustic manufacturers embrace them. 1. They look much better. 2. They're MUCH more ergonomic, making headstock, and therefore the neck 50-100 grams lighter, which is a lot, considering the distance between guitarist's lap and the headstock. 3. They're much better for the sound, since their shafts are shorter, so the break angle over the nut is greater + neck is more springy. And no undersaddle pickup is just great for the tone. You're killing it, folks. I really look forward for you to come up with an all-solid jumbo in Masterworks price range.

Thanks for featuring the cedar top guitar. It’s the one I just purchased for myself. I love it but the action seems to be a bit higher than I prefer. It looks like 7/64ths at the twelfth fret. I prefer closer to 5/64th. I purchased it at Sweetwater. Any recommendations?

In the UK there seems to be a sizable price increase between the MF60OM and the 2024 MF60 Herringbone model. Please could the differences between the 2 models be listed - so we can understand the reasons for the price increase? I know both models are all-solid wood construction and the grade of the guitar tops is the same. Big thanks!
@AlvarezGuitarsOfficial8 ай бұрын
Hi, firstly there was general price increase in all Alvarez models in 2024. Masterworks 2024 models upgrades, include our new finish process which is thinner, better and LR Baggs HiFi in acoustic-electric models. ❤️

I really like the sound of rose wood back and sides over mahogony, and i also really like the sound and shape of grand auditorium. But i dont like the cut away on the MG70ce, but sadly you dont produce a grand auditorium body with rosewood back and sides without cutaway in the masterworks series. Are you planning on making such a model?
@lhvent Жыл бұрын
I really prefer these cutaway models over the Taylor models. They are so well defined.

I’m looking to get a MDR70e sunburst. The full square shoulders looks so nice. But can you tell a difference in between the slope shoulders and square shoulders? I’ve played some masterworks guitars and they are amazing. The 1.75 neck and the profile it’s just nice and smooth for me. Wish can get one of this guitars in the next year.

I love my MFA66CESHB, OM /Folk Masterworks Alvarez acoustic/electric. It is like a part of me. Recently due to diabetes, I lost my pinky finger on my right hand, and fretting and action on this bad boy, really helps when it come to playing it. My hands have gotten worst since diagnosed with Neuropathy so my left hand don't wanna fret as easily as it used to 25 years ago, but like I said, the guitar helps, the quality, the sound, everything. I do wish I had the new Hi-Fi pickup system that LR Braggs comes standard now in all Masterworks series. Hint: Hey guys send me the new pickup system for all my trouble I'm having, LOL. Anyway, Love the guitar, I might go to the store where I bought it and compare the new pickup system with what's in mine, if its that big of a difference, I might have to get the new one, we'll see what happens. I will keep everyone posted on here. Have a wonderful new year all Alvarez people, and keep jammin'!
