I've been in a NAR influenced church, it teaches "Change the Campus, Change the World" which is NOT in the Bible,. The movement as they call it, also teaches "We mature as we minister" which is also not in the Bible (we mature as we remain attached to the Vine Christ Jesus- John 15:1-8). They target mostly the young people (with hype music, events, and yes, lights on stage and worship leaders that use volume, emotion, jumping up and down, and adapt to the culture of this world instead of real worship as the Bible teaches so yes, most often the worship turns out to be a performance.

The more she digs into her Bible and sees the things that Jesus and His followers did, the more entrenched she will be. Then you convince her that she is not smart enough to understand the scriptures on her own, can't trust what she reads for herself and needs someone to explain the Bible to her, preferably someone with at least four doctorates. Just keep sowing those seeds of doubt until she doesn't know which way is up, then you can start showing her that your way is better.

The guy talking about music and lights at the end is very perceptive. As someone who has written, recorded and performed songs, I'm well aware of how effective music and presentation can be in bringing about a powerful emotional response. If I wanted to manipulate people into thinking they were experiencing something profound and spiritual, I would be using music and lights in exactly the way that appears typical of at least some NAR churches.

I went to a NAR church. Even I thought it weird when they spent a ton of money to add coloured stage lights and began dimming the lights during worship. Even THEN, I heard God say exactly what John MacArthur said, He said "Turn off the lights, turn off the speakers and you will know whether people are truly here to worship Me"

Using music to affect your emotions or mood, was featured in scripture, thousands of years before modern music even came into being. In 2 Kings 3 :15, the prophet Elisha asks for a musician to play, and as the musician plays, the hand, or power, of God comes upon the prophet. If you’re cessationist, it’s understandable to not believe the prophet part, but if you are, there’s still textual support in scripture to play music, and to allow it affect your mood.

Hi friends. I joined an Apostolic church two years ago . Have been Baptist alll my life I’m 54 now an still struggle with all of it. I had to get baptized in Jesus name only an have a supernatural encounter with the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in a prayer language that i could not understand. I felt a bubbly feeling after the submersible. 3months or so after being dunked. I faithfully attended every service as much as possible. They are SO WILD . There are many scriptures that contradict what these men are saying. The bible speaks of the terrible times in the end but nowhere does it say that ONLY bad things will happen until the end. Acts 3 says that Jesus will remain in heaven until the RESTORATION of all things. I don't know where this bitter idea that only evil can gain territory or influence the culture until the end comes from because that in itself is a false doctrine. Revelation says the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our God and that those who take part in the first resurrection will rule and reign with Christ.

Unfortunately people like MacArthur are (for me personally) like the old Pharisees. The Bible (scripture) has become the only God they know and will ever know. The Catholic idea of the bride of God being the church (merely a cultural conditioning) has now been replaced by the protestants with 66 books. People think that by latching on to the man-made cultural ideal you could be saved. Doesn't matter if you are baptized, say hail Mary's, read the King James or get all emotional about a idea. Jesus was pretty harsh here. You can never turn a bad tree into a good tree. This is something you are born with and that is why so few people will ever find it.

Pages and pages of intellectual back and forth and in the end you will realize it's futile and I should have known better. The Bible might be the inspired word of God but it's not fool proof. We Boers in South Africa have a very different view on race, church and the future than most Europeans. We live in a dark violent and enormously tense racial situation. It's about to explode. We whites people are murdered in the tens of thousands so over the years we have banded together and it's turned into us vs them. Our three major protestant church groups are running empty because the universal message of brotherly love has destroyed families, livelyhoods (BEE) and has no answer for babies who are wrapped in newsprint and set on fire with petrol. Children raped and killed in front of their parents. Old people slowly burned to death or mutilated for no other reason but they are white. Is this suffering for Christ? I believe in God, but not the one you believe in. Different world, different perspective I guess.

Dominionism of the extreme charismatics is WAY different than the dominion theology of postmillennial Calvinistic old-line Bible believing Presbyterians (not PCUSA which is theologically liberal). I am referring to people like R.C. Sproul, R.J. Rushdoony, Gary DeMar, etc. All have a very orthodox (as opposed to unorthodox) view of salvation, the attributes of God, etc. These people would agree with this video's criticism of the crazy 'apostolic" doctrine. The one exception would be not differentiating between them (Sproul, etc.) and the heretical charismatics discussed in the video. True dominion theology is just applying God's Word/standards to all areas of life. Psalm 110 verse 1 is quoted in the NT more than any other OT verse. God the Father says to Jesus that He (Jesus) will sit at the Father's right hand until His (Jesus') enemies are His footstool. In the NT Jesus says He will build His church and the Gates of Hell will not prevail against it. Gates are defensive parts of a city wall. They are a figurative reference to Jesus using His body (believers) to spiritually attack hell until it falls as far as its cultural influence is concerned and the number of people who are deceived. It is gradual. Spreading the Gospel and working to apply God's Word everywhere we can, gradually defeats Satan because of the working of the Holy Spirit to convert people to God and guide us to more godly behavior. The charismatics quoted (from a book) in this video (New Apostolic Reformation) are the opposite of that. Their view of God is weird and anti-biblical. It is heretical. By the way, the 7 hills and several other terms the dominionism charismatics use are never used by Sproul, Rushdoony, DeMar, etc. Also they (Sproul, etc.) say we have no power except what God gives us, apparently unlike the "dominionists". There is no ego in Calvinism. Nobody deserves to be saved. God has us do His work because He guides us as He wills. Otherwise we never would have been saved in the first place. I appreciate this video and especially others on this channel and the channel "The Gospel of Christ" because they denounce the heresy of these charismatics that are mentioned. Some of the other videos on the "The Gospel of Christ" channel are more detailed in showing clips of their heretical teaching. Just differentiate them from old-line dominion theology I mentioned above that doesn't agree with any of their heresy.

I'm charismatic, attend a charismatic church that is friendly with Bethel, and I do not believe the 7M mandate is biblical nor have I ever heard it mentioned in my church. This is just broad-brushing. It's also pretty rich coming from reformed pastors who think that Christ didn't die for the sins of all individuals and that the Holy Spirit does not give out spiritual gifts to each believer today as He sees fit. As a side note, if you're reformed, how can you believe that God ordains human sin when scripture explicitly teaches that God tempts no one with sin and always provides a way out of temptation? I really see this video as trying to pluck the speck from your bother's eye when you have a log in your own eye.

The WORD of GOD with the trace oil of music (melody/rhythm) is like setting in a Sherman (related to him as well) tank and lobbing bombs into the enemy 's territory or a fighter pilot strafing the enemy's territory. I agree about the NAR. That is some crazy dangerous theology. I agree about the lights, that's just weird. We don't need to manufacture worship. If it isn't happening, turning off the lights isn't the solution. The problem is most likely the music distracting the congregation or not giving room in the worship part of the service to focus our attention on the Lord. I have been a musician for the better part of 4 decades. I can spot good music and poor music. I have a hard time with some Bible-teaching church music and find it hard to sing to. I believe worship music must be appealing to sing along to but not distracting or focus our attention on the music itself and above all the lyrics must be Biblical. I believe there is room for songwriting to happen here within Grace Community Church-type churches. It's very difficult as a worship musician to cultivate that when the teaching pastor has too much to say in it. Certainly, he must be in agreement however, don't tell the landscapers how to cut the bushes if the end product is better suited to the need. I am speaking allegorically. What I am trying to say is that ministry happens on many levels and sometimes you have to leave room for things to happen. Thats not to say that what happens is always good. Then there is room for a hearty discussion with the lead pastor. Let musicians be musicians but under the leadership of experienced worship leaders. Just imagine if we had to still worship to Gregorian chant! Culture changes, music changes and we should be at least a little sympathetic to that need. I know John is not big on sympathy but he and every other pastor should at least exhibit the fruit of the Spirit.

@@billshaffer347 if you read those verses Paul said "Last of all" and you are ingnoring the context of Ephesians 4, God did give those offices to the church, 2000 years ago going back to Eph 2:20 apostles and prophets are the foundation of the church, you build the foundation first at the bottom, you don't continue to lay the foundation. If there are apostles today their writings have to be on par with Scripture which is what you see in the Roman Catholic Church.

Watch Mike Bickle's message "The Gospel of Grace". All the comments think he's using the Biblical definition of Unmerited Favor, but he's using a DIFFERENT (John Wimber influenced) definition. He's NOT talking about Grace, he's talking about being "empowered" to live out "the Kingdom" with a fiery heart. I was deep into IHOP - Mike's "Gospel" is that God will Empower you to Live Fiery - it is a stealth WORKS "Gospel" and NOT about Unmerited Favor accounted to you by merely Trusting in Jesus' work on the Cross. Then Bickle calls "salvation from Hell" an "introductory / secondary message" He calls THE CROSS OF CHRIST, Jesus dying on a Cross to satisfy the wrath of God, and Trusting in His Death Alone a "SECONDARY" Message. Richard, the 3 most influential New Apostolic Reform churches are, Bethel Redding, IHOP International house of prayer, and Harvest Rock Church in Pasadena, California-Ché Ahn’s church. While there might be some differences between the churches, there are definitely some beliefs that are only taught in NAR churches. For example. Restoration of Apostles and Prophets, DOMINIONISM, The seven mountain mandate etc. Let’s just say this, If your church isn’t preaching from the Bible and instead is only giving topical sermons, that is a bad sign. Many times NAR churches place little emphasis on the Bible and speak of God in a general sense. The NAR churches have misinterpreted Ephesians 4:11 to suit their particular motives. There are no longer any modern day prophets or apostles. The apostles and prophets were there for the foundation of the church. We seem to be living in some kind of great apostacy which is close to that discussed by Paul in 2 Thessalonians. i appreciate every word that belongs to me like catholic ( true universal) , the word of faith as Paul spoke it, pentacostal, and I love how Curry Blake preaches on diversity of tongues- because at age 43 all i ever heard was condescending cessationists herding people away from tongues with fear. Further, Jesus (the king) said to pray for Father’s will to be done on earth as in heaven…not to wait around for him. Salvation is not getting your sins forgiven, it's believing they already are! Today I unapologetically proclaim that there is only one way to be saved, and it has nothing to do with getting your sins forgiven. Salvations through FAITH. Then sadly you have fallen for the five I's just like Satan. Salvation is not getting your sins forgiven, it's believing they already ARE! To be saved, you must first get "I" out of the way. You only get two educations, the one you're given and the one you give yourself!
