I’m a huge Seiko fan and I have over a half-dozen seiko divers. I bought the new Solar Arnie/PADI last week and I love it! Guess I’m just lucky, but fortunately the bezel clicks right to the center of the noon mark. I put on a black/chrome NATO and I love all the features that you showed on the video. This watch wont stay long in my WatchBox. Thanks for the review.

Why do you accept misaligned bezel? It's not a cheap $50 watch. It's pretty pricey for pretty basic quartz. Mine SNJ027 is on the way, if it's gonna be misaligned I'll return it without hesitation. I'll no longer handle Seiko quality control issues.

I found this video to set my parnie. Didn't want to break out the manual. I never turned my bezel. I turned it to see if it lined up, it lines up perfectly. No misalignment. Very little play. I guess I am one of the lucky ones. I also own skx models. They line up perfectly also. I think the misaligned bezels are few and far between.

The screw pushers don't help water resistance, they just stop you pushing them under water... So leave them alone unless you're actually hopping in the water.

OK, so I've received my Arnie today. I have to admit I love the look, and I love the wrist presence, the design is perfect. I've got the Padi version and I like it even though originally I was moving towards classic black a bit more. But I'm a bit confused because of what they did with bezel action. They really achieved a new level of junkiness. Bezel action in SKX seems to be refined like it was a Submariner comparing to this thing. Of course, it does not lineup very well, plus it feels like a cheap $20 fake watch. I've never seen anything like that. It jumps kinda like it was 60 click bezel, just skipping steps. And I don't think it's the case only on my particular watch. Now, while watching reviews I'm under impression that all of them behave like that. I'm not sure if I want to keep it or return it to AD. I really like the watch but the bezel action completely ruins entire experience.

That's complete nonsense that has to do with Seiko quality control and can be adjusted. It had nothing to do with it being a good or bad watch. Did you eat paint chips as a kid?

You can as the watch is stil water resistant to I "think" 50m even with the pushers unscrewed. Not recommended though.

when a watch has a 120 click bezel, u got to line it up with a “half click”.. becoz 120 clicks in a 60 second chaptering is really a “half-click”….

I think it has a big design error. If you use more times the two button of the left. And need unscrew and the most of the people use the watch in the left hand. I think these buttons should be in the right side of the watch. Easier to use whit the right hand

Im actually getting mine tomorrow! Im so freaking happy seiko reissued this classic time piece! The iconic Arnie watch! I was hoping and wishing that they do! And they abviously heard our payers! You see! I did owned the original arnie way back in 1984, and i loved it! The stile is timeless! Had it for around 11 year's, changed the batteries about 3 times, but after 11 year's of abuse! Like swiming, diving, and the other abuse of scratches. Like bumping into rocks, walls and so on! It started to malfuntion, like the lcd screen was starting to fade, finally the batterie died, so i put it away. But on the process of moving from house to house! I lost it! Never to be seen again! If i knew then what i know now! I would have taken way better care of it! They are worth a small fortune now! But that's life for you! It gives you a learning lesson. This one is going to be as collectible as the original! A true gem! I definetly will take way better care of this one in the future, can't wait to get it on my wrist! Cool review! I played with the normal and PADI version and the bezel have different feels and I personally think it isnt as good as the turtle. Unlocking the crown felt like grinding on sharp metal.

Pop the bezel off and set it back a notch . It's been misaligned at the factory . It's not hard .

That display is too far up, visibility is somewhat compromised. I would rather put it where the Seiko logo normally be. And instead of lumed hands and indices. Lumed dial or other tech like Indiglo that lights up the dial. While we at it, just throw a chrono mode in. It'll be more piratical on this price level.

Nice watch but there's something that I really hate on it. The digital screen should be at 6 o clock or at the 12 but UNDER the numbers 🤔 Now it looks like the numbers are pushing for making space for the screen. It hurts my eyes 😋

The bezel has 120 click so it can take half minuts, but it also gives the oppetunity to align if something is wrong. With 60 clicks and something goes bad of the spring, then it will be hard to line up.

Free of cost according to the manual (page 57), all LCD's can fade if exposed to strong sunlight for prolonged periods. Seiko will always paint the worst scenario to avoid any issues in the course of time. I've got watches with LCD displays that are 15-20 years and have yet to see one fade to the point of being unreadable, so I wouldn't even worry about it....

Has anyone watched the movie recently. In the scene where he is covered in mud and making new weapons and bombs etc he is wearing a completely different watch on a tropic strap. Maybe it’s the stunt double but it’s def not this watch. The only reason I know is because I just bought the Arnie and watched the movie last night. Someone please help me solve this case of the other Arnie watch in this movie. The watch is covered in mud and has no pushers on it and is clearly on a tropic strap. That’s all I could make out.

Thats because the original Arnie didn't have screw down pushers and a normal crown...remember the Arnie Reissue is SNJ025 not SNJ025..I have the black SNJ028...all fantastic watches..hipe this helped mate

That is for marketing reasons and perhaps tax. About the China think. It is just a mental state of mine. You have to thing that is does not matter if it is made in the stated, in Polen in Denmark or France. It is the materials that matters. Omega also have some of there braclets made in China.

This watch is not worth $500. That's crazy! Casio will give you all of those features for a fraction of the price with good quality control and you'll probably get atomic timekeeping as well. And I dont see how seiko brand recognition would add any value if it's made in china.

My Arnie PADI is spot on, just need to check before you buy. If fully produced in JPN cost would be far higher and I believe Seiko wanted to appeal to the larger audience due to the popularity of the watch, as opposed to a minority of collectors. Couple of months they will be well discounted and for the money a decent buy.

Having just received one of these - I’d say the quality is on par with my Malaysian made SKX. In fact I’d say it’s slightly better as everything lines up on mine where the SKX is a little wonky in places. Can’t fault it to be honest.

Seiko opened a factory in Hong Kong in 1982 it’s part of China. I’ve seen a lot of Skx K models shipped in packaging flats that say made in Hong Kong. I purchased the black Arnie and it is superb.

1-everything is made in China. Including the computer/phone you are now using. Even " Made in Japan" stuff is made in China with a Japanese QC inspector stamping it "Made in Japan" IAW META law, 2-We use dive computers now, with a watch as "back up". 3- Sapphire will shatter when hit at depth, mineral (Hardlex) won't ,4- Refer to number 2, 5- Most dealers are now in the 400 dollar range. This is a good watch.
