The new BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR

Nice to see the suspension update. I added Wilbur suspension front and rear which greatly improved handling and comfort. I'll look over the parts sheet to see if i can add the usb outlet to my 2020 F900XR. I have 53,000 miles (85.000 km) with no problems. The bike is reliable and durable. It's comfortable enough for touring and is light and agile in the mountains. Good power, light weight, and great gas mileage. I love my F900XR!😊

@@bmwmotorrad Hello, BMW Motorrad Team I love my F900XR but I really dislike the fancy dashboard. How come we have to go to the sub-menus (sometimes while riding !) to get some informations rather than have everything we need on the main screen ? The total mileage + trip, the engine temperature and the battery voltage are missing. I really hope the 1300RT to come will have an improved dashboard.

🙌🙌🙌 let’s go. After 4 years owning my BMW F900xr I can say from experience it’s a great motorcycle that has exceeded all my expectations. It punches so far above it’s weight class that I am always surprised that it can do whatever I ask of it and more even with a passenger and loaded up luggage. The best fuel economy I ever got on any motorcycle was on our f900 XR at nearly 70 mpg 😮. Don’t know how you made a bike that is fast, fun, light, comfortable and gets great fuel economy. Truly the best all around motorcycle I have ever owned so I am stoked to see what else you brilliant folks at BMW has done with this amazing platform 🙌💙🤍

I would love too but my local dealers rarely have f900xr motorcycles in stock. Maybe I can try one when the BMW demo truck comes to town😊. Yes the f900xr has been a revelation. It’s amazing how much more you can enjoy a motorcycle when you feel safe, comfortable and in control❤️🫶🙌

I was certainly expecting more of this update... Same bike as ever in the case of the 900 XR, adjustable suspension in the front is not that of a big deal to make it worth for a current owner to upgrade, the rest can be easily achieved by purchasing after market parts...

The last time I rode a f900 I made it about two miles before I turned around and got it back to the dealership. I couldn't wait to get off that bike. My first bike was a f800gt and it had a much better ride then the f900. So I hope with these updates the F900 is better then it was.

Ich würde mich auch freuen, wenn die Baureihe etwas mehr Leistung hätte, eine einstellbare Gabel, einen etwas größeren Tank und - was ganz wichtig ist - eine gute Sitzbank. Außerdem hoffe ich, dass der Preis nicht zu hoch ausfallen wird. Ich möchte ein Bike kaufen, das verdammt viel Spaß macht.

Hey Christoph, und, was sagst Du? 😉 Wie gefallen Dir die neuen Bikes? Eine einstellbare Upside-down-Gabel haben sie, etwas Gewicht bspw. durch leichtere Räder haben sie auch verloren. Bezüglich der Sitzbank empfehlen wir Dir, die Bikes einfach mal bei Deinem Händler ab Frühjahr 2025 zu testen - beim selbst ausprobieren merkt man am besten, ob es einem taugt. 🙌 "Verdammt viel Spaß" machen beide! Welches der zwei ist Dein Favorit?

@@bmwmotorrad Vielen Dank für Eure Antwort, ich habe mich sehr darüber gefreut. Mit der einstellbaren Gabel, den leichteren Felgen und natürlich dem Akrapovic-Auspuff wirken die Modelle deutlich hochwertiger. Ich werde sie daher auf jeden Fall Probefahren, sobald sie verfügbar sind. Seit 2020 fahre ich die F900R, aber da das neue Modell jetzt etwas sportlicher geworden ist und meine Knochen auch nicht jünger werden, favorisiere ich derzeit für mich persönlich die F900XR. Das liegt auch daran, dass ich weitere Touren in die Alpen plane. Ich bin schon drei Mal mit dem Motorrad dort gewesen und natürlich viel Spaß dabei gehabt. Gruß Chris🙂

The lack of adjustable front fork on the F900XR has been a deal killer for me, so I was excited to see it on the 2025 version. But then I noticed the integrated tail light design that seems unsafe and unnecessary. Cool is nice but cool and dead? Not so much… The new Triumph 800 Tiger Sport looks enticing.

Vom Design her gefällt mir die F900R gut. Hätte gehofft sie bekommt das S1000R „Gesicht“. Leider verglichen mit dem Mittbewerb zu schwer. MT-09 hat drei Zylinder, 119 PS und ist mit 193 kg bedeutend leichter 😕

As a F900XR owner I find this extremely underwhelming. No significant changes to the engine (exact same output - while competitors are delivering more and more power). Have you at least addressed the faulty water pump that needs to be replaced every 12 months? Thankfully you have listened to some community feedback with the (slightly) revised front fairing and windscreen, as well as adjustable forks. What is really disappointing though is that you don't appear to have listened to the biggest criticism of the F900XR which is the rock-hard seat. The new white/blue colour scheme looks good though, except for the awful childish looking red wheels. Hopefully this colour scheme can be ordered with black wheels instead. Overall, much like the very neglected F800GT, the F900XR is shaping up to be the forgotten step-child of BMW.

There's a dark hole where the sun don't shine and that's where bmw can stick this outrageously priced machine. Even used ones I've seen are priced too high. But I'm not the typical person who has more money than they know what to do with it.

@ Horses for courses. I’ve had a series of tall rounders so the faired version would be more my style but as I ride less these days, a roadster is starting to appeal more. The real problem for me is that I want a premium model in the middleweight displacement class and that’s hard to find. Just sold my MV Turismo Veloce 800 so I’m used to a higher spec. So maybe the R1250R or RS! 😂

As comments have said very disappointing so much so they couldn’t have even been bothered to do a studio walk round the bikes 👎 This is the segment that’s most liable to lose out to Chinese bikes and if I remember correctly are they not manufactured in china.

Cool bikes but 2-cylinder engine.. 😕 Once’s you ride an inline 4-cylinder engine then nothing comes closer that feeling and the sound of the bike. Make 4-cylinder engines for this lineup and watch how successful they become.

KTM, Am I stating this accurately and correctly? This motorcycle haves on/off road capabilities that some had been unfairly depreciated by many.

Never ridden one but read reviews in the motorcycling press that the engine is lacklustre and has no character. I think that sums up this kind of bike. Its just a corporate imagining of what riders want.Its the motorcycling equivelent of white goods.
