Thanks for a wonderful review Paul. Many skip a detailed business lounge tour so i really appreciate that you always give us a short but detailed review of the lounge before you board. Didn't expect any other airline to do the throne seat. Thought it would just be JetBlue. This is definitely a much welcome difference to business class seating on a narrow body aircraft which generally have always had poor seat options.

Never thought we would see a narrow body in Singapore colors again, let alone a 737. I would have thought that cabin width would be a problem for them and how they would incorporate their legendary service and business class in to this type of aircraft. Alas they did it! PS. i am impressed that you managed to save the MAX debacle until the end unlike most youtubers who do it in the first two minutes of a max review.
@tavita86992 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul Singapore Airlines use these aircraft on the Singapore - Darwin and Singapore - Cairns services. We have been told that some of the Singapore - Perth flights will also use the 737-800 Love the business class. For a short flight the food was ok As you mentioned it seemed strange the crew did not bring a welcome drink or cold towel.It seems to cheapen the business class experience that SQ is renowned for. All in all I give it a thumbs up. Great vlog once again

Pro Tip: You can get TONS of views, clicks, and likes by also posting the spool up and take off segments as their own specific video's. Us nerds love spool up and take off video's! Thanks for sharing, I didn't realize the 737-8 had those accommodations. Pretty impressive for a 'small' plane. :)

I'm a pilot for this very aircraft and this route. I've flown MBA many times while it was in SilkAir Colours. Then flew this aircraft again in SQ colours all the way to Cairns around the region. I still prefer the engine noise from the 737NGs but I love the fuel efficiency of the new 737-8s. Awesome video! Thanks

It's great to hear from the crew that fly these! Are the 737-8s quite a bit more powerful too? Do you feel that during takeoff?

@@PaulStewartAviation nah it’s about the same power for takeoff. The NG is a much better climber, but burns around 3-400KGs more per hour! That’s why the 737-8s are popular with airlines.

I flew SIN CCU business class on the same aircraft type. The lie flat is pretty ordinary specially in the second row where the more you make the bed flat your heel and toes get squeezed - with the narrow configuration. For a night flight it is quite uncomfortable and a 3/4 lie flat is perhaps the best. On the return leg I chose the front row which has 2 seats. On these seats the lie flat I felt was slightly better as there was more space around your feet. Overall most uncomfortable to lie down and defeats the main purpose of flying business class which is to be able to have a relaxing snooze on board.

Umm, I don't know the outside part of the lounge in Cambodia sounded nice!!! 😂 Everything about Singapore airlines seems top notch, even on their short haul flights. I think engine noise sounds subdued compared to other PW products. The was no signature buzz-saw sound of the fan tips going super sonic. Therefore it cuts down on noise and maybe increases efficiency (I'm not sure about the last part). Great review as always Paul, Cheers!

Earlier this year I was flying LHR-IST on BA's A320. At the check-in desk, I noticed the 'Ask us for an upgrade"' label, so I did. I flew in C for 4:30 just for a 90 quid more, but IMHO you don't need a lie-flat seat on 4h trip. Singapore to Darwin, Brisbane, or Perth maybe, and especially on red-eye flights but not on four-hour daylight flights.

My little Cessna 182 is good 'nuff for me, but if I have to fly commercial ... it's first class ... I hate terminals, long lines, baggage claims, bi-itchy TSA agents and ticket agents. First class doesn't do away with all of those ills ... but it isn't like the abuse you endure if you are stuck with economy ... in my opinion. Business class looks pretty good actually. I'd like to find out how the seats convert to lie-flat. Do they extend forward and you're lying on the cushion of the seat, or do they flip over and you're lying on the carcass of the seat? Virgin Atlantic have the flip over ones and they are extremely hard, as there's no 'give' in the carcass and they only have a very thin 'mattress' to cover the carcass and it gives no comfort.
@PaulStewartAviation2 жыл бұрын
