Great video showing the advantages general aviation has to offer. Beautiful aircraft as well. I have loved the Cirrus since it first came out. An old Coast Guard brother of mine has had a G3 for the past 2 years now and absolutely loves it. At this current stage in my life owning one is out of reach for me but I can always dream. Until then I'll have to settle for enjoying videos like yours. Well done.

When I was a student pilot, I saw this beautiful Cessna 190 pulling up to the ramp. I walked over to meet the pilot and was surprised to see this elegant lady like my grandmother. I asked how long she’s been flying she said she got her license when she was 69 and she’s 73 now. So age is just another number my friend :). I tried this type of endeavor thirty years ago. If you get in a car at your home and drive directly to your client a hundred to two hundred miles away you will beat the plane every time. Reality says you get in your car, drive to the airport, park , take the plane out of the hanger, fuel it, preflight it and guaranteed you have already blown well over an hour - an hour and a half. Then you get your thrill because air time is very short. Now get in the pattern , land , park, walk to a terminal, rent a car and drive to your client. No way no day is a plane faster. I have experienced it first hand and piloted since 88. The plane shines on longer runs but never on a few hundred miles.
@SlowAsianDriver2 жыл бұрын
I don’t know how you can make an absolute statement when several factors are an unknown to you. I live 10 minutes away from the airport. My FBO pulls the plane from the hangar, fuels it and staged it on the ramp. Once I land, a car is already waiting on the ramp and the drive to client’s office is 15 minutes. Google map driving direction without traffic is 4 hr and 7 minute and a simple search on FlightAware will show you my flight takes 45-60 minutes. Time stamps in the video can be matched to FlightAware. But hey, you are entitled to your opinion and your first hand experience is just that: yours.
@michaelangelo75112 жыл бұрын
@@SlowAsianDriver I concede. Everyone has a different situation. My airport was a 45 min drive. I neither was offered or probably could not afford the services you are purchasing from your FBO . You are correct . My circumstances were quite different. 👍🏻
@Ea-Nasir_Copper_Co9 ай бұрын
@@michaelangelo7511These calculations vary so much. I know someone who lives a ten minute _walk_ from her home airport, while her work studio is literally across the street from her usual destination airport. She can make it from doorway to doorway in less than two hours; driving would take two and a half at the very least, three and a half to four typically - and that's on the busiest and most stress-inducing highway in North America. Flying is faster and safer, but in this case it's also far less stressful.

How often do you experience turbulence? One thing I haven’t seen really too much in the videos is any bumpiness. Maybe that’s the camera taking it out but I do know one of the things while I was starting my flying was I felt like I was bouncing around a lot which got my stomach a little crazy.. I want to get back into it and maybe I’ll fly more in the winter when the air isn’t so crazy but I figured I’d ask.

Sir, I have looked and looked but I can’t find it. Can you tell me the leg room measurements for the back seat passenger in the 22? I am talking about the leg room between the front and backseat. 6 inches? Thanks.
@SlowAsianDriver3 жыл бұрын
I just looked in the POH and couldn't find it either. Let me measure it for your next week. Keep in mind there's a range as the front seats can slide. I know my friend who's 6'4" can fit in the back comfortable.

With the seat full forward: 17.75” With the seat full back: 9.75” In my normal seating position: 13.5” In my normal seating position and a 5’ 8” person sitting in the back, you have 8” of room in front of your knee to the back of the seat. You can send me an email at my YT name at gmail.com and I’ll be happy to send you pics of the measurement.

I'm new to the channel (subscribed) so please excuse my question if you have already covered it. I'm considering my private pilot's license and I was wondering which plane did you learn to fly on and how long before you were comfortable enough to fly with your family? Thanks!
@SlowAsianDriver2 жыл бұрын
Hi pal, I learned on C152 and C172s. There’s nothing sexy about them but they are work horses and forgiving. I didn’t take my family until I got my Instrument rating.

Can someone explain to me why ATC said: "Boston Approach" instead of "Boston Departure" at 14:55?
@SlowAsianDriver3 жыл бұрын
Should be “Departure” but it’s the same frequency and people and is often used interchangeably.

Great Aircraft and safety features but not a maintenance friendly design. Especially, turbo charger.
@SlowAsianDriver3 жыл бұрын
Current generation Turbo is significantly better than previous gens. Unless you live in a high terrain region there’s no need for the Turbo.

Awesome, not sure if I missed it but how long did it end up taking?
@SlowAsianDriver3 жыл бұрын
It was about an hour flight (there are a few time stamps through out the video). Sure beats 4 hours driving :)
@allanloiselle7290 Жыл бұрын
You say the trip is 4 hours by car and I forget how long by air. Is that door to door in both cases?
@SlowAsianDriver Жыл бұрын
Door to door via air is 1:25. 4 hours by car is without traffic…and there’s always traffic coming back from Boston…so the return leg is typically 5.5-6.5 hours.

@@SlowAsianDriver So an hour from door to runway, that's not bad, but an important factor. 1:45 savings over driving, which is really good. Plus the intangible stress factor, which is much lower for flying 🙂
@SlowAsianDriver3 жыл бұрын
For the same trip driving, I usually leave my house at 6AM and don’t get home until 7-8PM. Traffic is brutal leaving Boston area and once I was in traffic for 2 hours going 1 mile b/c of an accident. Totally spoiled now. 😂
