Great info Gary. I am thinking of getting soft starts just to be able to run 2 AC's when we are on 30Amps. Don't have solar and only 200 AHr batteries. Looking forward to part 2..

Solid video. I have to ask, how many amp hours and watt hours is your battery bank? Also how many watts of solar do you have up top? Just ordered 2x of the soft starts for our Colemans and have been giving some serious thought in upgrading our batts/solar to run ACs without genny. Thanks!

You mention the Micro Air unit. Did you install one? Or, just the Coleman unit? I see there is an external unit that duplicates the soft start but have not researched it enough. Are you also running the Micro Air thermostat? If not, might consider that. We also have a 2014 Aspire.

Hey Tom, I did install the Coleman Mach soft start on the front AC unit. The video comes out this Sunday. I installed micro air easy starts on the middle and rear ac previously. They work really well and I only considered the Coleman Mach soft start as the MFG recommends using theirs to keep the warranty active or so I hear. I actually have a Micro air tstat on order but the lead time is several weeks. Looking forward to using it as it has a lot of new features. But there is no issue with the tstat I have now. I just want to upgrade it. What floor plan is your aspire? We have the 44U with the table desk option instead of the u-shaped sofa.

@@RVLIVINGLIFE we have the 44b. Your U appears to have been modified. It looks much better than the original. Did you do the work? I installed the Micro Air T-Stat last year. Nicest mod I could do. We run the floor heat on electric until the temps get to the low 50’s but can now have the AC’s on at the same time. That’s nice.

No modifications to the original floor plan other than the original owner ordered it with the table/desk instead of the U shaped sofa. One thing I forgot to answer was you mentioned the new external plug in softstarts. Not sure how well they work but they would only be helpful when plugged into shore power. If not plugged into shore power those heavy loads on startup would still be hitting your inverters and batteries hard.

@@RVLIVINGLIFE Never saw a U with the tv lift. It Was/should have been located in the hutch. Either way, I like the layout you have better than the U’s I’ve seen.

@@tomhayman6553 We originally thought the coach was a custom interior design when we bought it used in 2019. We since learned over in irv2 forum that our layout we have was an option that very few people choose. The standard build was the tv in the hutch and the u shaped sofa in the front passenger side with the small oval table. The option we have is the table desk and tv lift which we have and love it. BTW I was wondering how you have the electric heat on the floor running on electric. When we set zone 2 to electric the top heat pump turns on, not the floor heat.
