The New Deceive Inc. Update feels Incredible!

This is only first phase of the overhaul, Tripwire seems to be committed to keep updating the game until it is polished as hell, so somethings may change. I bought the game around launch, I had only 2 hours of play during the beta vs. there were people who had put in 50+ hrs into the beta. I had to learn quickly what common behaviors NPCs do, like running away from or (in the case of guards) towards danger, crouching as a Civilian or Staff whenever Gunfire occurs in the area, doing detours (AKA Staff Rooms or Civilian Rooms) instead of running to objective just be quickly engaged upon by other Spies (plus it had the benefit of having the stronger players eliminating each other). There are at max 9 other player in a solo lobby so you have to come to terms most likely you will lose 9 out of ten games. Thankfully the new player onboarding update is live with the phase 1 of the overhaul so most new players will be matched with players around their skill level and most of their early games would be filled with bots to help them learn both normal and bad spy behavior. The bots are trained to walk around pick up stuff and do objectives, some will run around and jump, others are sneaky and will only engage on you if you are out of cover or do something conspicuous (picking up ammo or eating food) in front of them. Because I play Deceive Inc. pretty casually and I enjoy jumping on a few games every so often, before the the Overhaul Update I would constantly get into matches with level 500s, now I only get into matches with level 100s or below because currently I am level 50 with most characters at level 7. Overall I think the new update is a 9/10 for me and for any new players that would like to start playing, I think now is the time.👍

I think the reworking of the infiltration phase seems like a great idea. While I know they have a lot of self-praise for their "heat" system, I still worry it doesn't do a lot for players that are playing *fast* - sprinting between objectives, jumping repeatedly in the open, etc. Their only action that might build heat is taking snap shots on people they suspect as players, but as long as they don't do that, they can get a big leg up on newer players that are moving carefully, especially if their movement experience translates to combat. 3:50 - I also have no idea how two seconds of a guard's movement gets you completely confident that's a player. I'm sure there's something, but I'm trying to think how long it would take a new player to recognize those motions, and to avoid whatever those motions are. If people can't really engage in stealth for their first 80 hours just walking around, they can't really play, and so they *won't* play.

I've played Deceive Inc very casually, so I am quite low level (level 52 atm) and not very experienced in the game but the new onboarding system that came with the overhaul update has been pretty good for me, I've been only matched with players around my account level, max I've seen was level 120-ish (haven't seen level 500 people in my lobbies anymore), plus the new bots that came with the overhaul helps lower level players by mimicking actions real players have done in other matches teaches them about normal and bad spy behavior. I think now is probably the best time to start playing. The team at Tripwire seems to be making the game easier for new players while making things more fun and consistent on levels of play. Overall the Overhaul Phase 1 update has been solid 9/10 for me, can't wait for what the next phase brings.👍

At 3:50 it isnt the movement that gives it away but rather the timing of their destination. The entrances of the vault had just opened. Usually, the guards' movement patterns take a minute to update their pathing. As a result, a guard pathing to a vault door as soon as it opens is EXTREMELY sus.

I loved the game, but by the 10th hour you already saw what this game had to offer, coupled that with some op characters that a lot of people loved running ahem squire with 1st or third gun and the game quickly became stale for me. Also the game seems to rely to much on gunplay imo where's I would like to sneak past my enemies to the exit car.
