The Black and Blue Motor City uniforms are the best looking uniforms I have ever seen and I have watched pro football since 1976

I could not agree more. I like the changes to the home and away, I also like the versatility to change the bottoms, but the real fire is the new black unis. Lions fans have wanted this for a long time, well at least this Lions fan has. And man, it is even better than I expected. The color combo is like this electric blue vibe, I can feel the Motor City Muscle oozing out of those uniforms and I love it! Hell I would even go so far as to dub these the Lions Nitro unis. Because that is what they are classic aggression with a style that just bangs and flashes.... So, so good!

I don't know. I love the new uniforms with the nice classic look, but what is up with these black uniforms trend? I mean the alternates here look okay I guess but if black is not part of your color scheme, why are you making black uniforms? Just doesn't make sense to me. New rule: If a team has a black alternate they should be forced to wear it on the road in Jacksonville in August.

@@tomservo75 Black uniforms were first used by the Lions in 2003. They discontinued them in 2017, in part because of the losing culture that was associated with them from the Matt Millen era. Dan Campbell is the reason they are back. He was on the team when they were a a thing and he loved them. Most Lions fans also love them. Anywhere there is a poll on it in a Lions fan forum the greater majority of fans will favor the throwbacks or the black uniforms. So, Dan Campbell when he hired in, at some point he wanted to bring them back. Rod Wood, the team president, told him to go win the division and then they would bring them back. Well they won the division, so they are back. Any true Lions fan should love this and be all in. If your not a Lions fan and questioning it all I can say is this. Because it looks cool and they can. Many teams are going to black alternates, the Jets for instance, and I think theirs look awesome too.

It's always "Honolulu Blue", but the blue is a different shade. I'm curious what you think of the Broncos and Texans new uniforms.

It's about time they went back to the Barry Sanders era! But what is it with these black alternates?! In most cases they look awful. If black is not part of your color scheme do not make a black jersey! Maybe they're just think they're being intimidating or something. That comes from on-field play, not what you wear on your back.

The alternates are sick! Especially with the all black pants and blue helmet. My favorite of the three.

@@travisscott9057 They look cool, don't get me wrong, but the Lions are blue and silver, not black. They should stick to their identity, even if they only wear them a few times.

@@DermatitisDean That is why they are called alternates for a reason. A lot of teams in the league have alternate color schemes that doesn't match their original colors. Just look at Detroit last year with the all grey jerseys. Our color scheme is honolulu blue and silver. But yet we had Grey Jerseys for a few years now and nobody had a issue with that? I just think people hate the blacks because it remind them of the Millen era. But I hate to break it to those people we have been getting our asses handed to us long before the black jerseys became a thing. Now if they incorporated black jerseys into our home and away jerseys then yes that would be a problem. But being that these are alternate jerseys that will likely be worn for only two or three games in a season then I don't see what the issue is?

@@travisscott9057 Well I had a problem with the grey jerseys, and my opinion is always right. Not to mention those were ugly as fuck. And I already told you my issue with them. For me it's like if like the Bengals or somebody wore purple for a few games every year.

@@DermatitisDean Well everyone is entitled to their opinions. Just saying they are alternates for a reason and Detroit isn't the only team that have alternate jerseys that differs from their main color schemes. Many teams have gone the same route. We just need to be thankful that we don't have god awful Jerseys. I would hate to be a Atlanta Falcons fan having to wear those atrocities.
