I love the reviews by non-techy reviewers, because you just test out the features that ordinary folks are interested in, similar to their uses cases. It just makes the whole video relatable, rather than speaking to me in some jiberrish language about video optimization, high frame rate, and la-di-dah. Thanks Richard for making this video! It was exactly what I was looking for that other youtubers did not put out. Man, am I glad to have gotten the DJI action 2!

That's why I did the review because when I look at reviews they get too technical and I believe most of us just want to get started with simple settings. I now have a Sony a 7IV and for the most part I keep it in auto, even when I do client work. Thank you for leaving a comment, I definitely appreciate it.

Awesome video, because you hit all the key point for why someone should get this. It’s just such a convenient and tiny camera, yet the quality of the video and sound is top notch. While there are better action cams, the fact you can just always bring this tiny cam along and find new ways to shoot where the phone isn’t convenient is what makes it stand out. As commenters point out, it’s not great for shooting long footage due to overheating.

The combination of horizontal lock in the menu and HorizonSteady in the image settings is what you want. It keeps the video in horizontal wide angle regardless if its paused or recording and how much/often you turn the camera at any time.

If you’re using this for vlogging. I suggest using wireless mic. Used double side Velcro to attach to the battery, plugged TTR cord with usb c adapter. Check mic settings and keep the receiver in your pocket with LAV mic in your shirt. Audio is amazing when I did the testing. Have fun🤙🏼 I enjoy mine.

you can get the wide angle when mounted on metal by putting it into Horizon Lock and hit the record button BEFORE mounting it sideways. That should get you done.

I found a strong magnet that can be used instead of the DJI one. If you have an old hard drive that is obsolete (I.e. some is only 80 gb). You can dismantle it , and there is a very strong magnetic component inside. You will love it.

I wouldn't, because it may over heat in 10 to 15 minutes and shutdown. I use it primarely for b-roll or short vlog of 3-5 minute talking points if that.

How many minutes can record with One charge e dual screen attached? In fhd 60? I read that Is inusable in 4k.. warm and shutdown early. It Is true ?

Hello Mario, I've recorded up to 10 minutes straight at 4K-60 then it shut down because of overheating and I've attached it to a magnetic mount on my car while driving on the highway same settings and it lasted for 45 minutes before the battery died. So it really depends on how you're using it. When I vlog in public I usually record 3 to 5 minutes hit stop before I know what I'm going to say next. But for how I use it, it's ideal becuause of the quick record button, easy to attach and detach magnet and fits in my pocket. I hope this was helpful.

@@MarioBeatricePv I actually just came back from vlogging with it to see how long it would last before overheating and I recorded for 22 minutes at 4K 60 and then it overheated and shutdown. I only use the cover on the camera that DJI provides to prevent overheating.

in my opinion, the benefits of this action 2 outweigh its disadvantages....I definitely loving the quick mounting/unmounting and switching places instead of screwing/unscrewing, it saved tons of minutes

Hello Rasya amanda Rasya, I haven't recorded 4K at 120fps I record at 60fps and since most of my recording times are between 2 to 5 minutes, I haven't had overheating issues. I guess it depends on the type of videos you're looking to record, I record a lot of b-roll with it and the quick start to record is the reason why I enjoy using it. Hope this helps.

Over heats badly!!! DJI really dropped the ball here. 4K 60 or 120 is horrible. It's not an action cam at all. $600 for a camera that cannot handle its own parameters is just ridiculous. It has let me down on numerous action shoots.

That is very debateble, camera overheats, depending of situations. When using in places with no airflow it will overheat faster. Most people using the camera outside never experience overheating. DJI offers a free magnetic case, wich will help using the camera for a longer period of time. So it's possible that this person never experienced overheating, wich makes it obvious he didn't talk about the overheating issue.

The internal mic is good enough but I also use the rode video micro which is about $50 US. Just make sure you get the right adapter cable for it.

The panning is great on the action 2, in regards to quaility I think is better than the Osmo Action but the main reason why I like the action 2 is the magnetic clip on and off gear. Which makes it convenient when on the go recording.

I really love the Action 2 but I really don’t use it for any action sports I use it more for Vlogging and B-Roll and the quick attach/detach magnet makes it so easy to get shots on the go. There are over heating issues, I've recorded for 22 minutes straight before it actually shut down but for the most part I only record between 3-5 minutes. So it really depends how you use it and for how long are you going to record on it.

Yes you can, you just scroll down on the camera screen, hit the SD card icon, and then hit the export to SD card…. Hope this was helpful

Hello Johan Mango, I haven't done a comparison between both but just in regards in how I use my action 2 for my real estate videos and neighborhood tours it's more adaptable due to the magnet that makes it quick in easy to attach and release for quick recordings. Hi. Thanks for making this informative video. I think it's worth spending a little extra money and using a better quality, more wind resistant, external mini Mic from someone like Rode, or even going with the DJI wireless external Mic system. I really like your car setup for the Action 2, but your external Mic audio is caca. I think if you change out your Mic and use a small external light, then you'll have the perfect Vlogging setup.

Campervan Tales, Thanks for watching. I'll check settings to see if it does have that when the camera is side ways. But what I've done when I'm not sure I'll buy it at a big retailer like Best Buy, Walmart, or Costco and try it for a week or two and if I don't like it I'll return it. I've done that with the DJI OM 5 gimbal and other products, just a suggestion. 🙈

@@meetrichardreyes There's such a setting when you pull down the menu and swipe to left. Just below the "PRO" button, is a toggle to lock orientation on/off. It won't switch to the vertical view. You can also set Horizonsteady ON, but will only work on 2.7K and below. And you have to press the "record" button before you turn it sideways for it work. If you're wanting a true action cam this is not a good choice. Overheating at any high frame rate 4K or 1080p within just a few minutes will ruin a shot on set. If you're only wanting to film in 24 or 30 fps it's OK but not if you're wanting to get some really good slow motion action shots.

Battery life is good In really cool weather it’ll last up to 50 minutes but the camera is more likely to shut off within 12-15 minutes because of over heating

Hello A. Pnar, I believe if you wear it while using a scooter it would be fine as long as the surface is smooth. For me when I tried using it while running it bounce a little too much but I have dropped it with the case DJI sends you and it protects the camera really well. The neck magnet works really good, I just got back from a road trip and the fact that I can attach to the necklace quickly and detach it and vlog with it on my hand is pretty awesome. There really isn’t a way for it not to over heat. Sometimes it can go 10+ minutes without over heating depending on weather conditions. I also have a Insta360 One X2 and that one can record without overheating for more than 30 minutes. Hope this was helpful
