Really, great review! They have setup this boat so clean,with multiple motor, electronics, and accessory mounting options. The bow storage, and recessed battery storage into the hull, for your motor. The swivel seat is amazing. I love my pdl drive, with my rear motor setup. Especially on a 12ft boat. I can't wait to this kayak with the different setups, and ideas people will use. And make it their own. 💯 🛶 🎣

@thebeardedpaddler Жыл бұрын
Depends on what you want to do. You can easily motorize this and have spot lock for less than the $6k that the EPDL costs
@DarthChatterbait Жыл бұрын
I got to take out the EPDL for a test drive, alongside a regular Native Titan and not the X. I can only imagine what the X will be like, but I'd rather have a Titan 13 with an Xi3. They were both amazing, but adding a motor to the Titan would be, what I felt, was a more stable platform and for less money.
@Austin_Torres Жыл бұрын
Love everything about the new Kayak. I can only pull the trigger on it it meets my one specific demand please the hull speed has to be capable of faster speeds or equivalent then a hobbie kayak. I know Kayaks are not meant for speed. But i need to cover more water with my style of fishing. And NO I dont want a bass boat. lol.
@thebeardedpaddler Жыл бұрын
Motorized? Or non motor? The Hobie drive will be faster. The prop style drive gives you a lot more control (instant reverse, etc) Speed will go to the Hobie though.

I love it! Thanks for the great review. I look forward to seeing the 10.5 also as it might be more practical for me. I’m pretty sure a Native Titan X will be a winter purchase. I anticipate using a bow-mount trolling motor and not a stern drive. Want and need that pedal-drive exercise.

@newenglandangler Жыл бұрын
@@thebeardedpaddler One of the biggest sell for the Hobie is how comfortable the seat is. The Native seat just doesn't look comfortable. It looks like it was designed with the swivel feature in mind rather than comfort. I'd obviously have to sit in it to see but other than that I'd love to have the Native.
@thebeardedpaddler Жыл бұрын
@@newenglandangler its actually a Millennium seat. They design seats for boats and have the same seats on Nucanoe kayaks. Its very comfortable to me as the back has a bit of an arch support. Love your videos!!! what i really really want to see is how do you route the cables from a torqeedo 1103 AC install to the battery inside the rear battery box while maintaining some form of water tight integrity and ability to remove the motor. Also, fyi, Native is not giving away the motor plate on their more current builds, they say they changed it so it's no longer free. thank you!!!
@thebeardedpaddler9 ай бұрын
Good question. I would route inside to the access plate to the stern to plug the motor into. This would require a hole to be drilled through the battery tub. Best bet would be to put a thru-hull grommet on the tub itself to maintain the integrity

Hello sir, I have a question. Trying to decide between the slayer max 10 or the titan x 10.5. Really only considering 10 foot size so I can keep it in my truck bed. Most I am going to do is a simple fish finder and maybe one day consider a torquedo or something similar. I am just looking for quality of life such as ease of transport, loading/unloading from my truck bed (no trailer), moving on the water, storage compartments. Which would you recommend between the 2?
@thebeardedpaddler11 ай бұрын
Slayer Max 10 for the reasons you stated. It's going to be lighter and for your needs/plans it's not overkill. The Titan X is almost 150lbs. They are both really great platforms and both have the exact same pedal drive.

There are pros and cons to both. Instant reverse is nice on bicycle and it helps when you have a fish on to be able to instantly pedal away ro maintain tension. The fins are better in tall grass and weeds and have better speed and less energy used

@@jimmywallhanger8402 it's the difference between primary and secondary stability. Primary is that initial "wiggle" and secondary is one the kayak is "leaned" until you feel additional resistance.
