I have been playing on Modern MMC recently and it’s amazing, bridging is perfect, clutching is great, I seriously found myself having more fun than I do on 1.8.9 with no draw backs. I definitely see it as the future!

that was always one of my absolute biggest complaints with 1.9 combat, how doing anything would reset the attack cooldown rather than...just attacking being the only thing to reset it. especially when swapping items and going back to your weapon, it slows things down for no good reason

The "sword cooldown fix" was ALWAYS a thing in commands The real fix is all of the other things they did

The release of 1.21.5 will make it even better because we don't have to fake the blocking with the eating component anymore since we have REAL blocking components now. I will always prefer 1.9 PvP over 1.8 PvP, but 1.8 PvP finally being properly playable on modern client versions is huge for both communities. I don't want 1.8 PvP to be gone, I want the 1.8 *client version* to be gone.

this is huge, i really hope Hypixel can adopt this and port over their kb so we may see a resurgence of Bedwars. only concern right now is porting over texture packs and the mid 1.8 style mod support most clients have on modern versions, but im sure that will eventually be adressed

1.8 has some problems with hitreg which were introduced to lower the skill gap to make it easier for new players to compete (similar to 1.9). The best version of pvp is 1.7.10 and i highly doubt mmc 1.20 will feel the same as that. Also if they want to go full mainstream now as server issues such as fly outs still seem to occur on mmcs new version (as seen in your video) which were not a thing just a few years ago

if they do manage to actually replicate 1.7 then it good which i highly doubt since the staff team does not really understand how pvp works (denied the existence of flyouts for years), wanted to convince me that some new version of their "program" can automatically hitselect (virtually impossible) or jump reset (flawed pvp strat that only works due to changing the hitsequence, sometimes in your favor (basically just a bad form of hitselecting)

Most 1.8 spigots fixed the 1.8 hit reg problems years ago. The only other difference between 1.8 and 1.7 gameplay excluding animations is the 1.8 miss penalty. Yes it does, also fly outs happen on the 1.8 server sometimes as well, there’s no difference between fly outs on normal MMC and Modern MMC

As much as I am impressed by much of what MMC is doing here, I’ll be honest… though it isn’t a popular opinion, I like 1.9 pvp as it is, a lot more than 1.8. Reason being is I find having to jitter click exhausting and I just hate being put at a huge disadvantage because I don’t feel like giving my fingers arthritis. I like a lot of 1.8 pvp but I’m really hoping MMC doesn’t set a new precedent for all 1.9 servers (especially hoplite) bringing spam clicking back

Don't jitter click. Try butterfly clicking, it is what most players use. I get that you don't have a double clickable mouse but that is the only thing that stops you. Honestly being able to double click with a single physical tap is like holding a key if you want to spam like(aaaaaaaaa) instead of clicking over and over and also you have control over double clicks if you practice. The block PvP is insane on 1.8.9 which can't be done in 1.20 servers but it can be done on modern mmc based on the video but the issue would be breaking the blocks cause going to the tool or blocks, one of which can only be placed on offhand meaning other is going to be on other slots then when you go to that slot and come back to sword you have to wait for cooldown which doesn't exists on 1.8 so yeah that just makes 1.9 PvP worse than 1.8 but if they implement no cooldown when switching then yeah it would be viable

this is a huge event for the pvp community, but regardless of that, mmc needs to stop thinking they have the best anticheat when there is players bhoping and using blatant hacks while never getting banned unless a mod is logged and active (if you are able to detect precisely closet cheating, blatant shouldn't be an issue)

This has me super excited for the future of Minecraft. I used to enjoy playing 1.8 with my best friend. The combat changes really hindered our ability to enjoy single player. We still play bedwars together on occasion but the possibility of having a public version of the plug-in for 1.8 PvP gives me hope. I would love classic combat on my realm.

I think especially on servers like hypixel, implementing this legacy combat on newer versions would allow for so much new things to be done. This could be the start of a new pvp era

I really hope servers like Hypixel and Bedwars Practice will implement these changes 🙏. I've been dreaming that 1.8 servers will update to the latest version for years. Imagine new maps getting access to the newest blocks, and the server itself will just get 9 years of updates in one go. These developments are so exciting
