@Shademastermcc Жыл бұрын
I'm torn on this. On one hand it would be cool to watch your loadout work but I see a whole mess of problems with this. Which items count as camouflage for which areas? When and by how much are you exposed by being on a piece of terrain that doesn't quite match what you're dressed for? These are all very subjective things that will require objective values for the A.I. and I can see it becoming quite annoying, getting spotted because your brown boot was hanging out on a patch of green grass. If they play fast an loose with the rules it could be okay, but then what's the point of even having the mechanic in the first place? And then we have to keep changing our outfits for every mission or area we walk into? I like to play the game and not spend time in the menu screen.

What I also like to return is the way the AI in bases reacts to soldiers being killed or spotting you. If a soldier spots you, you still have a 2-3-second window to take him out and prevent other soldiers from being alarmed. Also depending on how far away groups of soldiers inside bases are, it might take a while until the whole base is alarmed or if other groups of enemy soldiers are alarmed at all. The laser doesn't have a flashlight, what's happening is the peq15 is emitting an infrared source that is only picked up by night vision, far too low a wavelength for the human eye. Also I don't think a flashlight would add any tactical advantage. Why would you use something that gives away your position when you have the most advanced nightvision tech right on you? Flashlights are low-budget sight improvement tools but if you already have NV and your opponent probably doesn't, it's much better to go with the NV. The only way this would make sense is if they introduced enemies that were also running NV and you could use the light to blind them temporarily or overload their goggles.

Wildlands had the option to use the rebel forces for a few things: enemy recon mortars, hired guns. What I missed in Breakpoint was the option for distraction. Using mortars to hit hard targets or hired guns ti distract was great to point the bad guys in a specific direction while infilling from the other. I would love to see an Ambush Mechanic: an event that begins with the enemy launching an assault on the player while we are out of combat, that occurs randomly while exploring the world, from time to time. It can have some variations, for example: - Sniper ambush: enemy snipers in ghillie spawns very far away and downs someone of the squad. The player has to take cover, save his buddy and try to locate the threat and eliminate it. - RPG ambush: spawns 2 or 3 rocketeers with some infantry at medium range. It could be programmed to be more likely to occur if the player is traversing in a vehicle. - Sandwich: 2 enemy squads spawn at opposite sides of the player, with mixed infantry, marksmen, lmg gunner. More likely to occur while on foot. I think you get the point, the main idea is that it occurs while the player is not expecting it and it begins with the players team getting shot at first.

A useful feature to help with the realism is being able to tune your ammo capacity in the options menu. When you can lug around about 1,000 rounds of ammunition spread across your primary, secondary (if you toggle that) and pistol, or about half that if you just use a primary and pistol, is still a pretty ludicrous amount of ammo to the point that you generally have zero worries about running out of ammo even after multiple gunfights. At the very least make it so I’m capped to a certain number of magazines worth of ammo across what weapons I carry so there’s some weight involved in how much ammo I’m willing or not willing to lug around.

Okay hear me out, the healing/injury mechanics in this game are fantastic. I agree that there should be more. Here’s my two cents on the subject; the actual terrain/biomes in Ghost Recon Wildlands/Breakpoint are incredible. I was playing last night and had to sit and catch a recording of the gorgeous weather/Biome I was experiencing it was truly gorgeous and cinematic. I do appreciate the arcade nature of being able to wear whatever gear you want and be able to override the looks with how you really want to look. But let’s keep that feature and ditch gear/gear perks and lean into gear survival perks. I.e you have to spec for the biome you’re going into. Manage your body temperature so you don’t overheat, with too much equipment on, or suffer hypothermia because your not warm enough, leaning into rations and other survival items actually having a real world purpose to actually survive the harsh weather conditions. The foundation of weather and biomes is already there. But this is genuinely what I wanted when they advertised Breakpoint. I play other survivors games like 7 Days to Die, Valheim, etc. there is so much stinking potential here and I’m genuinely not opposed to the open world model if they actually heavily lean into surviving the different biomes, bring so much more meaningful experiences and other reasons to ACTUALLY keep gear. Also, if they were too worried about that pushing casual players away, I think they could still lean into it by implementing something like The Divisions Survival Mode, where you basically are dying of an infection, and you have to stave of the infection while combating the extreme weather conditions, wandering enemies and balance resources to actually improve your survival chances to complete the mission and extract. To this day, still one of my all time favorite Survival experiences and I think is one of the most underrated. Anyways, sorry for the long form comment. Great video! Really enjoyed the editing and I agree with everything you said!! Here’s hoping they listen to the community. I could be wrong, but I know there was a lot of backlash when They went from a linear experience to an open world, but I think the open world could really work and be more widely supported if it created meaningful experiences trying to survive these different harsh environments.

No apologies needed for the long comment! I’d love the feedback! I agree with what you said! I actually love Breakpoints customization.. but I think with other stuff it could be expanded/modified like you said to match the climate you’re in. One thing I failed to point out in the video is that I think gear/camo needs to actually effect detection. I want my ghillie suit to actually matter 😂
@Claire.sterling Жыл бұрын
@@EJayWalker oh absolutely! I live that idea! I think the ‘arcade-ness’ isn’t inherently a bad thing. In fact I find it a welcome addition to be able to have a more action shooter experience. But I don’t want that to be a replacement for the tactical shooter experience the fans have grown to love throughout the franchise. There are so many toggle settings in Breakpoint that give the player so much freedom and hope it stays. But yeah, allowing the community to really dig their heels into a survival experience that challenges the player in so many ways would be suuuuper welcomed. Imagine having to wear certain gear that creates a more slick-back camo silhouette in order to complete a mission in the downpour rain while managing weight and gear because rain adds ten pounds, slowing movement speed and forcing a slower and more tactical approach to the experience. And vica versa actually having to create a loadout where the only way in and out is diving, so a pistol and maybe an smg is all you can really bring for firepower as you have to manage a lightweight scuba diving gear in order to infil and exfil. On top of getting hungry, staying hydrated, managing body temp and gear weight. They have so much foundation already established. They just need to push into the next level of ‘Tactical Mil-Sim’, which has always been a proud staple of The Ghost Recon Franchise as a whole and it’s ability to lean heavy on realism.

You took the words out of my mouth. The only BP players I see still actively playing it are RPers. They have to literally make up a story or scenario in their heads and play it out in the game rather than the game immersing them in its experience. When your game is so sandboxy that nothing other than the shooty bits matters, there is no reason to engage in any of the mechanics and it feels very one dimensional and boring. I love the idea of true survival mechanics. Make danger dangerous again. BP actually had some great ideas but their potential is spoiled by how Ubi doesn't like taking risks and wants to appeal to casual audiences, dialuting the experience as a result.

I agree with pretty much the whole list. Other things o would like to see, are: The ability to make it so your camouflage pattern influences detection speed. One that really depends on what setting they go with, but if it’s more like Wildlands then I think some regular enemies should blend with civilians. It would make it a lot more intense, and think more about if you are drawing too much attention. On the other side of that the option for the player to really blend with civilians hitman style. If you are going into a more urban environment you could choose to sacrifice protection for higher enemy incognizance. Like you’d have to leave your primary weapon, and any visible armor plate carriers, mags, etc. Although I don’t think it should go so far as to stray from the Ghost Recon identity. At the end of the day they are still part of the U.S. Army. I’d like the AI teammates to be a bit smarter, like if they are about to get detected by an enemy take them out don’t just sit there😂. Wherever the game is set they should emphasize the feeling of not belonging there. In breakpoint everyone in Aurora was basically just Americans. Last thing I think it would be better to go with a smaller map, and/or get rid of the bloat. There’s no reason I should be seeing collectibles, and side missions in a Ghost Recon game. I think the faction missions are a good system for solo replayability just flesh them out more.

Kind of a new thing to add to Ghost Recon that I think hasn’t been done before, but if they integrated this this would make the game have infinite replay ability. What if they added a Player Creation mode. Basically players can use assets in the game like the ai, structures etc, and allow players to basically make their own missions, the way they designed them and then players online could try them out. Like if you want more enclosed CQC then you can create that or you want a long range sniper assassination mission by all means put the target down a mountain side guarded by hundreds of their people. If you want an ultra realistic house raid you can do it. It’s kind of similar to Halo’s forge mode (that’s the closest similar thing I can think of) but with the mechanics of Ghost Recon, how tactical it is, literally infinite replay ability. People can literally make their own campaigns within the game. Would be fun I think, hard? Most definitely, but worth it? Most definitely!

I would also add smoke grenades, recovery beacons, rocket launchers with automatic aiming, more vehicles that can be repaired and refueled, the possibility of storing weapons (all weapons). I would eliminate Erwon's Batcave and add the possibility of having a real military base with several outposts scattered around the map, where you can store equipment and customize and store all your vehicles. Bivouacs are fine, although I would prefer to be able to set them up wherever I like... a bit like in RDR2.

100% agree with your list. I feel they dropped the ball with Breaking Point and were immediately on the back foot trying to catch up with what fans wanted from the game. They could have easily reskinned Wildlands and called it version 2 and fans would have loved it but too much changed for the worse. They definitely need the next game to feel like a real world as Wildlands did. Breaking Point felt too clinical and flat compared to the previous game. I'd also be happy to take a step back in time too. Maybe drop back to a cold war setting and rock some old school gameplay... although I'd definitely miss the drones for marking out objectives and threats Great content by the way buddy. Keep it up

I want flashlight attachments and lasers that are customizable, ability to lay packs/backpacks out to sort gear, survival elements such as food, water, hunting, medical supplies etc, also a more dark vibe, war torn buildings to loot, clear, etc…. I like the IDEA of this but I think in practice it could become tedious. As far as resource management, I would like to see smaller storage but increased importance of items. Running around with 20 grenades of different types and 40 food pouches is ridiculous. Make grenades do huge damage, but we only like 4 max of all types. Food boosts you by 50-60% in multiple stats and lasts for hours- but you can only carry 2 at any given time. We should only be carrying about 14, 30rd mags of rifle and 7 or less pistol mags, but bullets COUNT. Drones (if they include them) don't survive 3 magazines and 308 caliber rounds go right through body armor. I'm ok with resource management, but the resources need to feel like they matter.

I have made multiple posts on reddit as of recent asking this exact thing. I agree with the "do not want" list also. A more reactive and lived in open world is needed for the next game for sure and BP really showed that was missing. I honestly prefer movement from Wildlands and I'll explain why. BP movement is superior, animation wise which makes it appear smoother, but from a gameplay puspective, WL movement is simplier, less clunky and more responsive. WL has strafe movement in standing and prone position which was missing from BP. In BP you have to face the direction you wish to move and that doesn’t suit a tactical military style movement imo. No over the top hollywood 10sec takedown animation bs either. Make them fast and silent like GRFS or SCBL. My main wants for the next game aside from a more detailed and living open world and superior squad commands are weight management system that works alongside armour and maneuverability. No more pulling 10 rockets out your ass. All gear should be visibile on your character unless stowed in your pack and when used show to be empty on your plate carrier/belt. Functioning camo and blending into civilian crowds with concealed firearms would be nice. Functional FOB to be used as a platform to deploy from. This will give the player more options for tactical insertions, AI piloted vehicles, CAS, briefing, and planning phases.

Okay you have a lot of great points here. But if a developer asked you what do you want the next Ghost Recon game to be, what would you tell them? From the location to the story, first person or third person, new characters or pull from existing lore. What would be your ultimate Ghost Recon game?
@EJayWalker Жыл бұрын
Well first thanks for the comment! I'm a huge fan of your channel and your content. Honestly I feel like we could get a really great Ghost Recon game with lots of pieces from the last few brought together. I'm no expert by any means, but I feel like my ultimate game would be in a location similar to Wildlands in terms of varying environments that provide different experiences in different locations. Maybe something like India or China? Or a fictional place based on either of those. haha. Various environments, urban and rural areas, similar to what we had in WL in Bolivia. I know some people don't like the 3rd person/over the shoulder style but I actually enjoy it. I like to be able to see the outfit I'm wearing when customization is such a major part of the experience. I think starting with new characters could be a nice way to start fresh. The last few games have had recognizable characters and even a few easter eggs from previous games, which is fun, but new characters could be a good "reboot" in a way. Honestly similar to what I mentioned towards the end of my video.. I don't feel like GR needs a complete overhaul. I think they have a good foundation with WL and BP to work from. I would really like to see some more immersion elements added in to make it my ultimate GR game. Appreciate the comment!

No robots, or at least very minimal robots and only in certain unique encounters. Better NVG effect. No gear tier or classes (except for maybe something like the Tier One system from Wildlands). I actually kinda liked the Azrael drone patrols from Breakpoint, and something like that would be cool to have. More Sam Fisher. Let the gear you equip (clothing, etc) actually provide effects to the player, such as decreasing detection, increasing or decreasing movement speed or stamina, etc. I want white lights that you can equip and use on your guns. Give some enemies NVG or thermal capabilities that make you easier to detect and let them see your active IR signatures from lights/lasers on your weapons. Some low profile / undercover missions. Wandering around a foreign city dressed like a local with your team, having to maintain a cover or something could be a cool mission. Make BASE jumping work properly on launch and not several months later through a patch. More persistent enemy pursuits and more difficult contact breaking after encountering enemies. Destructible environments like old school Red Faction or Just Cause. Imagine breaching a compound wall with a shaped charge.

I think the weapons category system was much better in Wildlands than in Breakpoint. I liked having all my weapons in their own category instead of having one column in breakpoint that you had to keep scrolling down in order to find a certain weapon, it was so aggravating. Though I think selling your gear, weapons, etc was a nice touch to earn extra credits. I do wish the world was more like a real life living environment like wildlands was, but I did enjoy more on the way the breakpoint map was created, the futuristic modern style houses, industrial buildings, headquarters and so on.

I'd like to see them bringing Civilians into it, like having a reputation system with the civilians, if its positive they'll help you hide in a crowd and let you know about enemies nearby, maybe provide extra help in certain missions/dynamic scenarios, if its negative from too many civilian causalities, they'll actively work against you and give away your position to the enemies, maybe a disgruntled civilian will occasionally try to ram you off the road. If you can tie in the NPC's to the towns and regions well enough, then it really helps ground the story. In Wildlands, the NPC's are ok, but they don't add much besides having to watch your fire to avoid getting the 'what are you doing? that was a civilian!', and acting as the occasional info point for medals and rebel support missions

You give good advice in general. However, I would also focus on taking care of the equipment. I'm a fan of functional gear. In the sense that I can't stand objects that materialize in my hands out of thin air without believable animation. Like the rocket launcher... do you take it out of Marry Poppins' bag? Even if you don't carry a backpack. I also don't like infinite parachutes; the parachute should also be functional equipment. If you equip it you can use it, otherwise boom. I would also add mechanics such as the descent of a rope, greater attention to dynamic bursts, a larger team, from 4 to 8 operators. Finally, the strong point of Ghost Recon is character customization. I would like this option to become even broader and richer in options, which would give each character a uniqueness that would be more appreciated.

And also an energy level based on what you've done and where you've gone plus what you've eaten and drank. Climbing hills and running constantly should wear you out over the day and make it harder to aim or keep energy bar up. Or the overall day energy bar from farcry primal.
@dylanspencer75911 ай бұрын
One of the things I keep hearing from people is a punishment system for when you die. In GR games like farcry, you'll get killed and just respawn in the area you were in with the bad guys gone. It's pointless to avoid or engage in fighting a patrol if you have nothing to lose. A darksouls bonfire system would be good for this. Or if you lose some gear, or even sacrifice it to not have to be taken back to the bonfire/bivouac. The bonfire/bivouac system would make it fun finding all the bivouac spots. Also loved the figure it out and find the evidence and base locations yourself in unguided mode. If they could bring this back it would be cool. Doing actual recon work and finding information to narrow down enemy bases and what they're doing

I just want the game to be more like the first game. I want a tac map and the ability to command 2 or 3 squads. First and third person views for however you want to play. Realistic ballistics and damage. Make enemies reactive to being shot, a lot like RDR2. Would be awesome if the open world had a home base, and FOB's as you take control of territory over missions. Maybe have some dense cities for some urban warfare, with challenging objectives that reward preparation. Have a roster of characters to choose from and when they are wounded they need time off, and when they die they stay dead. I would really like to see destruction as well, but developers rarely add destruction.

While I do agree about the gear score and can see why people dont like it, I do however love that they had gear and weapons with various stats to acquire further enhancing your chosen playstyle. Although I think it couldve been implemented better than they had in breakpoint. Instead you could choose what stats you want on a given weapon or armor piece and just pay a slightly higher price than say the "cheaper" alternative which would give you something with randomized stats like what we have in breakpoint. As far as things I did love I hope they continue with the class and perk system which I also thought really helped players expand on a certain playstyle that they liked and maybe expand on it further in the next game. On a sidenote as a PVP player of both Wildlands and Breakpoint, I hope they bring back suppresion, mines and/or claymores and decrease or get rid of drone presence altogether in multiplayer matches as I feel in both games they are way too overused.

It's so easy to get bored in Breakpoint as I'm traversing a dead environment. Also, I would love to see AI that hunts me down. I mean the ak-12 is a bit nitpicky seeing as its 5.45, but you cant put an iconic weapons like the M82 thats obv .50 BMG (12.7x99) as a .338 (8.6x70)

I would like ghost recon to become an active environment where players choice’s dictate the outcomes I would like mission where you never fail them whoever your going after they escape and become harder to find and while they become harder to find the other enemies and hvt become harder to find and the more reckless you are the population turns on you and bounty start to take place making the game a lot harder. My logic behind completing the game would be to always do intelligence gathering ,reconnaissance ,surveillance recruit assets ,and pattern of life on your targets we should be able to snatch up the targets associates families and friends and interrogate them for the right information and always fact check it we should also be able to break into home and vehicle to plant listening devices cameras and sensors to always be able to track the target and create webs for the future targets of the game I think this could make ghost recon a better overall game and refresh it from the past two games of raiding every base i think this will actually make the ghost recon title mean something again because we are actually doing what ghost recon units would be doing
