It’s weird to realize how calm and almost cocky Stolas was when he was first kidnapped, but I think it was because he was so confident that Blitzø would save him. (similar to the Loo Loo Land episode). He only got scared when he realized Blitzø wasn’t coming.

The loo loo land episode showed us that stolas doesn't actually need blitzø to save him, he's able to defend himself better than any other character because he's objectively more powerful. He asks blitzø to save him to flirt. So basically, he realizes right at the start that he might actually be in trouble, but shit doesn't get real until he realizes he can't use his powers. I think blitzø also thought it wasn't a big deal for that same reason. This is the first time the threat was actually real, and stolas really thought blitzø would save him, but he didn't even show up.

I feel like the Loona/Blitzø fight was supposed to demonstrate how Blitzø was so removed and unaware of the severity with the Stolas situation. He's super casual because he thought Stolas was untouchable, so he feels like he can still have his typical shenanigans. But at the end of the episode, he realized his terrible mistake. I think he'll start taking Stolas's feelings/safety more seriously moving forward.

He knows Stolas can protect himself and Stolas even tries in the episode during the fight, but Blitz had no idea what kind of trouble Stolas was in until that moment. I’m sure they end up with Striker’s holy weapon so Blitz may have thought he couldn’t get another one because of Moxxie saying how hard it is to get one earlier in the episode. Plus, he says as such in the beginning that he had to choose between his daughter and his lover/whatever they are and for once, he choose his daughter because of how hard it was to get the appointment (understandable nowadays). It’s kinda a mix of both of first comment and this one imo of why Blitz wasn’t super involved.

Blitzø's "He can get hurt?" line really hit me right in the feels. His facial expression and tone of voice just shows how surprised he is that a demon so powerful and high up in the hierarchy could get that injured, and possibly suggests that he really does care for Stolas, even if he's terrible at showing it. And the scene right after? I've never gotten so emotional from a text message chain before. I know Blitzø is afraid to show intimacy, but Stolas being content with THAT response is just painful.

That line explains why the B-plot exists, Blitz had no idea exactly what trouble Stolas was in fully. Stolas even tries the trick he did to other assassins in Loo Loo land on Striker but fails in the fight, that’s when Stolas makes jokes about what Blitz does to him as a way to offput Striker as that was the only other way he could have fought back without help.

Not gonna lie, I thought that the part with Stella calling off the hit would have Striker going, "Sorry, Ma'am, he's already dead," while Stolas thrashes as he wants to torture and kill Stolas more than he wants money. I do very much enjoy everyone slowly coming to the realization that Stolas can legitimately get mortally wounded, and Stolas realizing that Blitzø can't/won't save him every time. And the sad part is that Blitø actually did initially freak out about having to balance between Stolas and his daughter's health and there's the fact that if Blitzø had gone to save Stolas after Loona's shot, Stolas would've been permanently mutilated by the time he got there.

Episode 4 is the best season 2 episode yet! It was a real treat to see Striker again, And even though it's a shame that Norman Reedus couldn't reprise the role Edward Bosco did a splendid job as the understudy for the character!
